Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. When we arrived to check in, they had us on 2 different floors. We asked to be on the same floor because we had booked them together. The clerk told us he’d check and he started to change them and asked for the keys back and when he handed them back, we were still on different floors. I didn’t want to hold up other people checking in, so I waited and then, asked again to be on the same floor. He then gave us 2 rooms on the 3rd floor. Our room was not great. No real storage area to place luggage and just a tiny place to hang clothes. Just hooks on a wall. The 2nd day, we left our towels on the floor, as it said to, if we needed fresh towels. When we got back in our rooms, our room had not been touched and the towels were still on the floor. I went to the front desk and asked for fresh towels and more toilet paper. (No extra in the room) The clerk on duty said he would make sure that we got some and if I wanted, I could take them up myself. I asked if he could have someone bring them up. (We had seen cleaning people on our floor and thought they’d stop by, but they didn’t) We went to dinner and when we arrived by in our room, still no great towels, nor toilet paper. I called the front office and he said that he’d sent someone by, but we weren’t there, so they didn’t leave them. He said he would bring them right up, which he did. Also, the tube of shampoo in our shower was empty and we had to take a cup and get some from our second room. Unhappy

We stayed in this property over Labor Day weekend which was a last minute trip so there weren’t tons of hotels available within our price range at that point. We chose this hotel because it was a descent distance away from the downtown area but close enough with car that it wasn’t a big deal. We pretty much just used it to sleep at night after long days of site seeing and it did the job. Nothing truly special but it was modern and looked newly appointed so that was nice. The units are what you see online, basic but what you should expect for a Tru property. The hotel did have breakfast and a descent one at that so that was nice for us to grab and go on our way out each morning. Parking was someone challenging each night because it does feel like a drive to location so we just knew we would be looking for far parking each night but it didn’t bother us. Overall the hotel stay did what we needed but if you’re looking for the Portland experience you need to stay in the port area.
