Came to Portland on a whim for a weekend and stayed here for one night. Markelia at the front desk was so friendly and pleasant to talk to! My room was very clean, and once I got settled she called the room to make sure I was satisfied. I originally booked a one bed, but at the last minute a friend asked to crash with me. Markelia was extremely accommodating and changed my room with no questions asked- she even made sure I got a room with two beds for the same rate! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable :)
In my quest to stay at every Choice Hotel option in Portland, I booked a room here during my last business trip. I had to specify an interior corridor, as most of them have exterior corridors, which I don’t feel comfortable having as a solo female in Portland. My room was abnormally small, but the ceilings were high which was cool. Staff was disinterested in processing my tax-related paperwork (I travel for the government), which was really frustrating. There isn’t really anything nearby in walking distance; it’s kind of a boring area of town. You can find something better for the same price. I wouldn’t strongly recommend this place.
I had a business trip and reserved 2 nights. Free shuttle at the airport, gym available, nice and clean room and a great staff to welcome me. I've asked a few questions to the GM (?) Chiara and she was very kind. Highly recommended
I had doctor and hospital appointments, and we chose this hotel to stay at. The prices were great, the room was very nice, and the staff was really friendly and helpful. We found out we were going to have to spend another day there, so we went back, and they gave us the room we requested, and welcomed us back. The next day, we were waiting for call backs from doctors, and they told us to go ahead and stay in the room until we received all our calls, so we had a warm and comfortable place to wait!
This hotel stay was a great experience. The front desk...just the best! Very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. My room was lovely, nicely decorated and very quiet. The bed was very comfortable, and the cleanliness was far beyond my expectation!
This is a renovated hotel built around 1960. The rooms are clean, the staff is nice, but keep in mind it was built 50 years ago. The walls are thin so you hear noises on other rooms and levels. The breakfast was not as complete as other Choice Hotel locations, but the room rate is reasonable and the coffee is there. I may stay there again if the other hotels are booked up, but not for more than a day.
We were in town for the Maine Lighthouse bike ride. This hotel wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it was great. Good price, a little worn, but clean and the folks were nice. Decent price.
We spent an evening here with our four legged boy in order to catch an early flight out of PWM the next morning. The hotel is conveniently located right off I-295 and only a ten minute drive from the airport. It was certainly the off season, as the hotel was not busy at all. I was a little worried when we arrived and the women behind the desk said that the "pet friendly" part of the hotel was closed for the season. The two spoke to one another (not in English) and started to blame the other one for taking the reservation incorrectly. They were both in good moods and seemed playful about the hole thing. We wound up fine, with a room on the ground floor. The room was nice but located right around the corner from an exterior door that slammed A LOT throughout the evening and night. It was very loud and the walls (well ceiling) was incredibly thin and we could hear every footstep above us. That being said, the room was clean (although our dog found lot's of muffin and pretzel crumbs, and good have been vacuumed a little better) and pleasant for our stay. We didn't enjoy the breakfast as we left before it began. Which being close to the airport you would think breakfast would start a little earlier than 6:00 a.m. I've stayed in a few hotels near the Portland airport and this is one I would stay in again.
Recently spent a night here while on our vacation. The price is right, the place is a bit worn but our room was clean. Reception was great, they have a small fridge in the room and also offer wifi. They also had a continental breakfast in the morning.
I returned for a second stay within 7 days, that sums up my happy stay(s) with this hotel. Flying out from CA, the hotel was a sleep over stop on the way out to Acadia National Park, and also for my return flight home out of Portland Airport. On night before my flight out, I called the hotel and asked for a quieter room as I'm a super lite sleeper, and was pleasantly surprised by what they had done. Upon checking in next day, they had a room locked in for me that was away from the busy street, upstairs on 2nd floor, and in back of the main building where it was very quiet. On my return 7 days later, they locked in the same room for me...such service! Although the motel doesn't have the curb appeal compared to the Best Western hotel next door, it provided the comforts of home for a good nights sleep: nice large room, very comfortable mattress and pillows (most hotel pillows are often too hard or lumpy), clean room, and clean bathroom with good water pressure. The different lobby staffs were very friendly on both my stays. Breakfast with hot waffles, sausage, were eggs were good, and also really liked having fresh fruits to boot. With a microwave and mini refrigerator provided, it's another nice convenience if one isn't looking for a glitzy hotel.
