The toilet leaked on the floor. When we checked in there was water all over the sink. The ice bucket still had water in it. The maid walked in on us one day. She knocked and immediately tried to walk in! Thankfully we had the door blocker on. We didn't forget again to put the do not disturb sign out. .

Quiet, clean, comfortable and close to what we needed.

The most of staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was nice. Beds were okay. The pool was a complete nightmare is the only way I can put it -- myself, disabled husband and son went to go use the pool. The posted rules at the pool meant nothing as there were children running around the pool, doing cannon balls into the pool, whipping a ball around the pool, and lots of horse play. There were at all times 6-9 people in the hot tub. People were let in throw the side door. My husband couldn't even get in and enjoy the pool or the hot tub with all the chaos happening. My son and I tried to play in the pool but were constantly hit by kids jumping and thrashing about or had a ball throw at us -- after 20 minutes we were out. A hotel employee came into the pool area and turned a dead eye on all that was going on. Posted Rules have no meaning at this hotel. We reported the problem to the manager the next morning and said they should have cameras put up at the pool and his excuse was "they don't have the funding for extra cameras" -- SERIOUSLY this is a Hampton Inn. BTW there are only three cameras in the parking lot. I would NEVER stay here again!!!!!

This is a reasonably priced, nice, cozy and convenient hotel overall, with decent sheets and pillows, I recommend it in a general sense. However, both times have stayed (w/ span of one year) the mattresses have been super slumped towards the night table--enough to actually role (you have to perch at outer edges then you'll be fine). I know a lot of people weigh a ton these days and that destroys mattress almost instantly, but still, the mattresses either need to be rotated more often or just replaced. Especially when the slope is visible to the naked eye, even when made up. And the room doors--they truly SLAM. Something needs to be adjusted with the hinges or frame padding to prevent guests from being able to do that. Again, I still like this place but....peeling wall paper in the bathroom--approx 12 inches square. I used to work in hotels and these things are easily manged and fixed--they just need problem solving staff.

We had a great stay! The room was very clean and comfortable. Location was very convenient to the mall. Check in was pleasant. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was typical of a continental breakfast. The thing that made this stay great was the housekeeping department. Our room key would not work after breakfast and all we needed to do was to grab our luggage and check out. Instead of making us go to the desk and renew the room key, the house keeper let us in to grab our bags(phew)! When we got to the front desk to check out we let the clerk know that our room keys weren't working. She could have cared less--pretty much stated it must be our fault. (we are very seasoned travelers and know what deactivates your keys and we leave them on the table away from anything electronic, phones, magnets etc..) So I was a little put out with her attitude. What saved my review and the stay is again the housekeeping. When I got home that evening I realized that I left my Ipad in the room under my pillow, I like to read while in bed. I quickly called the hotel and thankfully housekeeping had turned in my Ipad to lost and found. They offered to mail it to me but I had to go back for a meeting in town and picked it up. I was so impressed to get my Ipad back that I just had to give thank you card to housekeeping!

I had business in Portland Saturday morning but flew in early to enjoy the Friday night in the city. I called in advance to know that I'd be having a late check-in. Check-in was easy and fast. The front desk staff was efficient with all my needs (check-in, wake up call, sewing kit) and the housekeeping staff was pleasant. I was pleasantly surprised that the breakfast staff not only kept the breakfast fare stocked consistently, but they were cheerful in their work. Supermarkets are nearby to the hotel so getting snacks and drinks for the refrigerator was easy. The location was both convenient to my destination the next morning but also an easy car drive to the city.

The accomendations were great and the staff was extremely helpful.

Overall very good stay, easy walk across to mall and food, shuttle driver was late but fortunately my flight was too.

This was a shortened overnight stay---my husband had to catch a 3:00 a.m. bus to Boston---but without question, it was great! I've stayed here before (the Hampton Inn by Maine Mall in South Portland), which is why I chose it again. The staff was delightful at our check-in. The room was perfect---clean, comfortable, quiet, very relaxing. The location is the BEST for shopping, restaurants, airport/bus/Amtrak, and downtown Portland.Only wish I could have stayed longer!

We had a wonderful time spending one night here and then hitting the mall the next day for some "day after Christmas" sales, Everything was wonderful

Excellent choice for an early flight! Room very clean and friendly staff.

Location is great! Maine mall and many restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast buffet is greatly appreciated and has many options. Comfortable beds, water bottles needed in the rooms.

Hotel was nice, clean, and comfy beds. Pool was great for the boys to unwind.

We needed a place to stay that was close to the airport and this place fit the bill. It also had a great breakfast buffet and very clean rooms.

All of the hotel staff were super nice! My wife and I were specifically impressed with their Pool/Jacuzzi and hot breakfast! Pool hours were from 6 AM to 10 PM! Breakfast hours were from 6 AM to 10 AM! Services and amenities greatly exceeded those of many 5 star hotels! Hotel's location was a mere 7 minute drive from Portland's main attractions! Finally, they had a drink machine that dispensed free soft juices!!

we arrived and went right to the pool and Jacuzzi. went to a nearby Indian restaurant and had a great dinner..spent the night playing cards and just having fun, we went to the mall the next day to get some after Christmas deals. great stay at the Hampton inn. oh, the cookies were good and so was the breakfast!

Driver to airport easily modified transport time to for me.

We went to Portland primarily to visit the Museum of Art. We have stayed at this Hampton Inn several times in the past and like it. It is easy to get to and friendly and comfortable. Also convenient to the waterfront, although parking once you are there is a problem, but that not the Hampton Inn's fault. We recommend a stay at this Hampton Inn.

We visited our daughter who lives in downtown Portland. The hotel was conveniently located, easy access on and off highway, with a shopping mall directly across the street, and less than 10 minutes to downtown. King size bed very comfortable and room was very clean. There's complimentary coffee, tea & hot chocolate 24 hours in lobby area, and complimentary breakfast, including waffles and readymade oatmeal, fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, etc. Recently renovated fitness room with all new equipment and flat screen tvs. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Nice Hampton Inn, convenient to Airport and to direct route to both downtown Portland and to points north and south. Adjacent to Maine Mall, but situated so that you'd never know it unless you wish to. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is acceptably good, not great but even with a difficult diet offers options. Seemed a little pricey for the stay, but it's height of tourist season and all rooms seemed very pricey, some by substantial amounts. I was pleased and comfortable.
