The retro look of the hotel and room met all my expectations, the staff was courteous at all times and promptly responded to all requests. The bed was very comfortable.

Amazing stay! Everything you could want in a fine hotel experience.

Valet and front desk really nice. Yet it took 2 hours to have the dog bed brought up instead of ASAP as promised, which meant my husband couldn't leave the room til it arrived ! Room is great for the most part but certain things could be improved - like king sized pillows for a king sized bed (not a mix of half- and small sized ones) which were all super uncomfortable. Curtain didn't close all the way so sliver of street lights shone on us all night. Mattress comfortable and dog liked her bed which was good, and liked that they checked in on text and that valet had our car waiting when we came downstairs. However, having to drive your car down into a very small claustrophobic parking lot in order to check-in is very odd compared to most hotels where you just pull up curbside. While I do like being able to get our stuff and our dog out in an area away from foot traffic (and the rain), it is incredibly difficult to take those turns even in a midsize wagon such as ours and we had to back in and out multiple times just to get out of the garage (how SUVs do it I have no idea!). Also $45 to park your car for less than 24 hours is insane. You can't possibly expect us to also fork out money for tips when you charge this much - especially when you have to do that kind of maneuvering just to get your car out. PS - Red Star is pretty terrible - waitress had zero knowledge and was very apathetic. As a native Portlander, you should be able to do a lot better on the restaurant side!

This was our third stay at Hotel Monaco and it was wonderful. The desk staff made us feel welcome, and the room was lovely! We had a king corner room, well-appointed, clean and comfortable. The hotel is centrally located in downtown Portland. The daily social hour with local beer and wine and live music is always fun. Great people watching, too. We love this hotel and it is very likely that we will return!

Hotel staff from the valet to reception were super friendly and helpful. The front desk recommended a great restaurant for dinner and also coffee the next morning. Added bonus - the happy hour and live jazz.

Great staff, great hotel, reasonably priced. Would definitely return.

LOVED the hotel decor! staff was VERY accomodating and friendly! perks like daily happy hours, and live performers + “night cap” vouchers for cookies and alcohol! amazing!

Great atmosphere, cool rooms and furnishings. Excellent service. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel rooms great and comfortable. Only room problem is the extreme temperature sensitivity and drift of the shower control. Also the restaurant is to avoid.

I am always offended by a pricey hotel that charges for WiFi. Mcdonalds gives it away - but not for a $250 room! Also there is no information in the room (checkout time, restaurants, exercise room -is there one?, etc. they have done away with these books. Also - water temperature in the shower varies greatly and is extremely sensitive. Other than that - a nice room but at the price they should do better.

We stayed at the Hotel Monaco for a week and we're treated so well it was hard to leave. We aren't morning people so always missed the coffee in the morning but the social hour in the evenine was a daily highlight for us. The room was very nice. The roll in shower worked for me. The bed a too soft for me, but my wife loved it. It was nice having so much stuff walkable from the hotel. Plus the staff always has good recommendations for us. We would stay here again should we get the chance.
