Excellent Hotel! The staff provided excellent service. The facilities were very clean and well kept. The room was spacious, very clean and quiet. The restaurants were good and reservations were easy to obtain. We will definitely stay here again.

Great service

Lovely staff, better than average food, clean rooms. The A/C in the rooms is not fantastic, but adequate. The music by the pool was a bit much and encouraged some other guests who perhaps should have been in Cancun to be a bit too rowdy. The restaurants were impressive – especially the pianist!

Beautiful grounds and rooms. Very friendly staff. Restaurant choices severely limited blamed on COVID. Food better than average for all inclusive. Mechanical issues seem common as we were locked out of room until they finally replaced the whole lock mechanism. Locked out 4 times in less than 24 hours. Spent 3 1/2 hours waiting to get in. Had no hot water first morning. Was fixed quickly.

Likes: No children, food, restaurants, unlimited drinks, some shows pleasant, elegant decor. Not : Towels are not always available. Huge competition for sitting around the pool. There should be some pleasant soft music and some activity around the pool, upgrading of the rooms needed. Concierges should be more available

I stayed at several hotels in Playacar which are the neighboring hotels to Royal Hideaway. This hotel has old, traditional, royal, outdated feel. The property is kept in great condition, the grounds are nice and simple. It’s a smaller size hotel and the beach is relatively close to any of the villas on the property. The pools are nice and the fact that it’s an adult only hotel without the kids attracts many couples. The crowd for the most part is 50+ with a few younger couples here and there. The staff treats you with utmost respect and attention. What I didn’t like: the rooms themselves. I’ve stayed in much brighter, sun-filled, spacious rooms with large two people jacuzzi’s looking out into the living rooms for a much lower price. I was really disappointed with the quality of food and the quality of restaurants. The choices were limited, some of the restaurants were closed and you had to make reservations ahead of time. I didn’t care for that as I believe there should be no schedules during vacation time. One day I fell asleep and missed my reservation. They couldn’t accommodate me to dine. The organization on the resort is also pretty poor. When I stayed at Sandos, Iberostar, etc I was given the map of the property, a written schedules of restaurants, shows, spa, fitness classes, introduced to the tour guides, etc-etc. right at checkin. Nothing close to that at Royal Hideaway. Activities are limited, super boring resort. To sum up, i am gratefulI but I won’t book again.

We completely understand that when traveling to the caribbean, the beach is the key ingredient and the area of Quintana Roo unfortunately is constatly affected by the seaweed situation.
