My son's and I were doing a college visit and needed an inexpensive place to stay for the night. This place was very clean the staff was friendly and there were no problems checking in or out. The beds were comfy and we were able to get a good night's rest. My only complaint would be the continental breakfast left quite a bit to be desired. This is one area that they could improve in. But overall I would say it's a good value for the money.
I would not recommend this hotel. When I arrived I asked the girl at the front desk if she could give me a better price than what I found on Orbitz, she asked me not to complete the reservation on Orbitz and quoted me a rate that was a few dollars less however ended up costing me more once the tax was added and I missed out on Orbitz bucks. I was given a room card key in a sleeve which was dirty and had obviously been recycled as it had multiple room numbers written on it then crossed out. The side door entrance would not open with my key card and I had to walk around to the front to get back into the building every time I went to my car. When I checked into my room the temperature was set at 60 degrees and the electric baseboard heater took hours to warm up the room. There was dirt in the bath tub which looked like it may have dropped from the ceiling tiles above and a large spider was crawling up the shower curtain. In the morning I asked the front desk guy if I could get a cup of coffee as I could clearly see the morning breakfast was set up and it was 10mins prior to opening however was told I would have to wait until 6am because their insurance coverage prohibited them from allowing guests to have access to coffee before that....most other hotels that I have stayed at serve coffee 24hrs a day. So I will not consider staying here again, and would discourage others from this choice as there are multiple other options in Plattsburgh which are far more comfortable and accommodating. I only considered this hotel because it appeared to have been recently renovated.
Newly renovated hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable which is all I ask for when I need a place to stay during my business travels to Plattsburgh. The breakfast is decent and staff informed me that they will be starting hot waffles next month which will be an added bonus! There is also an indoor pool which I haven't used but it looks nice. Maybe I will take a dip next time!
This room was filthy. There were a dozen flies in the room, the blanket has stains on it and the bathroom was not clean. The breakfast consisted of mini muffins and mini doughnuts. There was no price on the bill at check out. When I cheked my credit card I was over charged .
The refrigerator did not work, Tried twice to get fix, no response. The electronic key to get in the room rarely worked, had to get it fixed. A lot of the channels on the channel card weren't on there. The toilet bowl was not attached good felt like it was going to come off. Only good thing was the room was cleaned good every day.
Expectations were met for what we paid for the night. The women working the front desk was friendly and organized. The room was clean, the bed linens were clean but they had stains and cigarette holes in them. The beds were very uncomfortable, more on the hard side. Also there weren't many rooms filled that night, maybe 10 cars in the parking lot but the continental breakfast selection was minimal and the coffee was terrible. Again the room was very cheap and its worth what we paid for it.
The Super 8 Plattsburgh was exactly as I expected clean and quiet. I booked in with no issues and my room was ready. I did not avail myself of the breakfast only because I slept later than I had anticipated. I would rent a room again here
Why are most Super 8s located behind gas stations? Anyway, checked in and, given my limited mobility, asked for a ground floor room. Was told hotel was full and could only get an upstairs room, no elevator so I dragged heave luggage up the stairs. Found out later hotel was practically empty. Bummer. Dreary looking room. Leavings from a McDonalds or Burger King meal in one of the drawers (I didn't care to look and left it there). Bed was full size not queen as I had ordered. Toiled jingled all night. Bathroom light very noisy and, if left on for the night as I tend to do, made it too noisy to sleep. TV very poor in selections (unless you are into sports or Fox news. Only newspaper available was local Republican Post ( I guess to match Fox News). Breakfast very skimpy and served in a depressed area with no staff around. All in all, not a good overall experience.

this was my 4 or 5 stay at this location, work travel. inside clean reasonablw $. Jan snow and ice, poorly maintained parking lot and entrances. o fell on 1/2" freah powder that was over existing ICE. NO SALT, NO SHOVEL! IN SNOW 10 IN BEFORE I GOT UP, WENT TO FRONT DESK, HAD INJURED KNEE & ELBOW. CALLED AMBULANCE, DIDNT THINK I NEEDED, BAD CONTUSION, BAD SWELLING AND BRUISING RIGHT AWAY. gm ON PREMISIS, NO APOLOGY; I TOLD HIM NEEDED TO SALT/SHOVEL, REPLIED GUY WAS HERE A FEW HOURS AGO (BEFORE SNOW) AND AFTER 11PM ISSUES WOULD B ADDRESS. 1 FIREMAN 1 PARAMEDIC slipped at front ent. management still refused to salt/shovel after medics advised. i could not climb stairs, was moved to 1st fl rm, my belongings came 6hrs later. incident was 6pm, after long work day.wet clothes for hrs, had to stay up for belongings to be brought down by night shift who arrived at almost midnight .Big issue: front desk refused to let me file an incident report, incase i needed further tx, any management refused to speak with me for the last 4 days I was there including the 2 added days. Never offered a courtesy, comp a night, it was not allowing the incident report or management apology. replace management! needs to keep common areas and outside SAFE for all, guests employees and 1st responders.
