Surprised at how nice this hotel was. We had stayed at the Springhill Suites across the street on our last visit. It was booked for this weekend so we stayed at the holiday inn property. Staff was great. Rooms were clean modern and spacious. We had a king suite so I'm not sure if all the rooms were as spacious. We had a great view. It was quiet at night. Didn't make it down in time for breakfast but we would definitely stay here again
Loved this property! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating to us and our friends. We were new to Pittsburgh and we there for a Steelers game. Defintely within walking distance to Heinz field and literally right across from PNC park. Lots to do around the hotel. We didn't rent a car so we took advantage of the free shuttle service within 3 miles of the hotel. All of the shuttle drivers were so nice. They were very knowledgable about the area. Wouldn't have done half of the fun stuff we did if it wasn't for them. Rooms were spotless. Wifi was very good and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay here again if we are ever lucky enough to come back to Pittsburgh.
What a pleasant stay. From our check in with Dwayne to every employee we met, we were treated like special guests. Every employee had a great attitude and seemed like there was no place they would rather be. Our room was spacious and well lit. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning unit was excellent. The hotel was across from the PNC baseball stadium, but there was no game so the area was quiet. We understand there was a free shuttle within 3 miles of the hotel, but we never used it because the location was convenient for walking to many of the attractions. There was a nice selection of breakfast items. This hotel was a very good value for the price. We would happily stay here again.
I enjoyed my time at the Holiday Inn Express. It is nicely located next to PNC Park, and a 10 minute walk from Heinz Field and downtown. The Wifi worked well. Many restaurant and bar choices in the immediate area.
Stayed at this great location to celebrate husband's birthday with a Pittsburgh Steelers Game! D.J., our front office professional, was sincerely one of the nicest guys we have ever met. Great asset Holiday Inn! After learning why we were there, he changed our room to one with a view! Incredible customer service. Everything about our stay was impeccable. The area can't be beat for all your needs. Walking distance to all the major sports venues including PNC and Heinz. Also, walking distance to several restaurants. Complementary shuttle was sensation as well if you want to be dropped off at the game or shopping. Walked around until wee hours of the morning and never felt unsafe. Great job Holiday Inn!
Stayed 4 nights for extended family weekend vacation. Loved being able to walk to Pirates game, Andy Warhol museum, and many restaurants. Shuttle was convenient (but smelled a little like old smoke) for trips to Carnegie Science Center, the Incline, and Station Square. Rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable. Parking lot was nextdoor in a gravelly lot, not the nicer parking deck. Signage for parking entrance and spaces weren't very clearly marked-- very confusing.
We had a nice stay. The hotel is located next to the downtown and other points of interest. Prices are reasonable. Hotel is clean. Small gym and swimming pool (you can’t swim in it, but your kids would love it). Breakfast was a bit disappointing (very basic continental) – but you still get some pre-made omelets and you can prepare pancakes. The hotel offers a shuttle that will drive you to places and pick you up back to the hotel. Rooms are relatively small – but this is not unexpected (still the hotel is in the center of the city). Nevertheless, they could have put a bit more thought into the use of the space (e.g. not enough drawers). Bottom line – if you want to be close to the downtown this is a great place, if you prefer a bit more space around you – look for some other place.
Holiday Inn Express saved us after the Springhill Suites overbooked their hotel and cancelled our reservation without any notice. Located diagonally across the street from PNC Park, it's a short walk to the Clemente gate... The shuttle service takes you anywhere within a 3 mile radius and was always quick informative and reliable when called upon. A small buffet Breakfast was included and was actually pretty good.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was diagonally across the street from PNC Park. It is a pleasure to walk to the Pirates games. Heinz Field is only a 10 minute walk to the west. The hotel is in walking distance of everything in downtown Pittsburgh to Point Park. We even walked to the south shore (next to the Monongahela incline) which took about 1/2 hour. There are ton of restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk. Parking was easy and right next to the hotel. The hotel has a shuttle which we used to go to the Duquesne incline and be picked up at Fat Heads saloon on the south shore. The room was clean and spacious. The refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig all were great amenities. The breakfast was yummy with a lot of options. The staff was excellent from the desk clerks to our shuttle driver. We would stay here again on our next visit to Pittsburgh.
We stayed one night and came into town for a Pirates game. This a a PERFECT HOTEL to watch a game. Walk to the stadium ticket gate in one minute. After the game don't fight the traffic. We walked back and were in our rooms before people could even find their car to leave. We traveled as a family of 4 and was an excellent stay. It was a hot day and our AC had trouble removing the humidity from the air, but overall the room was great. Breakfast was really good with lots of yummy options.
