Great location, little older than I usually like but well maintained, clean, comfortable and close to everything

Great time. Room was clean and staff was helpful.

Hotel was in a perfect location for our visit to Pitt! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was not as comfortable as I hoped. Overall, we had a good experience.

The valet parking was a perk and the staff was very friendly and personable. The room was very clean but as a Pitt alumni I wish we had a few of the cathedral. The adjustable beds were a little hard even on the softest setting. Overall our stay was great and the hotel was decorated beautifully!

The staff were very helpful and very friendly. It was so nice to have refreshments available as it was a very hot day.

The hotel is nice, clean, and in a very convenient location. If you are visiting Carnegie Mellon, you will not have to walk far to the campus. Also, very friendly service.

Overall not a bad stay but for location reasons described herein, we will probably stay elsewhere on the next visit. We stayed at this hotel for our visit to Univ of Pitt orientation for Physical Therapy graduate students. This hotel is on the main Pitt campus but the PT building is NOT on the main campus.....it is on Technology Drive across the water. While it is still only about a mile away, there are other hotels that are closer to the PT building. It was within walking distance of several restaurants and Schenley Park. The hotel offered free coffee in the lobby and it was wonderful. We enjoyed appetizers in the hotel restaurant that were very good. The hotel shuttle will take guests to other areas within a couple of miles so you don't need to drive. The hotel offers valet parking for $18 with in/out privileges. There is another parking garage a block away for half that cost but it does not offer in/out privileges. Theodore our shuttle driver gave us a great history lesson and pointed out key landmarks en route to and from our destinations. The room temperature was easy to control and responded quickly. The beds were uncomfortable....you sank into the mattress like it was a bean bag, making it difficult to climb out of the ditch to roll over. We did hear a few ambulance sirens during the night. The Keurig coffee maker in the room was broken.

I was impressed with the helpfulness of the staff and the restaurant's quality. While the Double Queen was a bit tight, it was more than adequate, especially since my business was at Pitt. This will be my hotel during any future visits to Pitt.

Always very friendly and clean. Near a lot of university's. Lots of restaurants in a very shot walking distance. Close to a lot of nightlife and the offer a free shuttle to many areas.

In a city where hotels are inherently expensive it's tough to find value for your buck. I have to say the shuttle service for this location was the best service they offered. They will take you anywhere within reason in the city and even pick you up, so long as you return by 10 P.M.

Had a conference at UPitt. The location is great, everything you need is in walking distance!

Hilton Gardens was in a great location on Forbes Street, the same street as all the restaurants and convenient stores so it was good to walk around at night knowing our hotel was right there. The overall stay was nice and comfortable. There was nothing too incredible but had all the necessary accommodations to make our stay both relaxing and nice.

Our stay was overall very pleasant with the following exceptions. The air conditioner was very loud. Having to sign in each day to use the internet was not customer friendly. And not having a TV guide to use for TV channel selection made the task laborious.

This hotel met our needs for the couple of nights we were there. Being part of the Hilton chain, I expected more. I should have researched better what was not included in the cost, such as parking and breakfast.

Room not available at check in. The manager recommended we change our clothes for a wedding in the lobby public restroom.

We arrived excited for our 4th of July weekend and needed to check-in, change and head to the Pirates game. Despite a promised 3 pm check-in promise, we were told our room was 'trashed by a bachelor party the night before and it would be awhile before our room would be ready'. She suggested we change in the public restroom off the lobby! Her explanation for the delay and her solution were simply unbelievable. We had no option but to change in the restroom and we were off. We returned at 11:00 pm and our room was ready. The room was adequate and showed no signs of any prior problems or damage.

Stayed 2 nights while daughter was visiting Pitt. Room was clean and lobby was nice. Walking distance to campus and decent restaurant and bar in hotel.

Needed a hotel within walking distance to UPMC for a week long fellowship. Hilton Garden was perfect! Well furnished rooms with all the amenities, comfortable sleep number adjustable bed and (here's a real plus) great food! The staff was friendly and helpful, from the front desk to cleaning staff you might meet on the elevator. Loved the blueberry bars every afternoon in the lobby :) Another plus was there were numerous places to eat within walking distance as well as a CVS right around the corner.

I was staying to visit my sister in the hospital. Room was clean, staff was awesome and location was perfect for Montefiore hospital. I was appreciative of the late service at the bar and the pantry option. I thought the valet service would be a pain but they were really great even with my oversized vehicle.

Hotel staff works hard to accommodate. Rooms comfortable and the location could not be better for a visit to University.
