We stayed at access villas for a week in Nov 2017 and really enjoyed ourselves. The room was clean and spacious and the proximity to the pool and also the pool bar was spot on. Also the proximity to Karon resturants and bars etc was good. Conveinence store a few doors down We will be back.
We stayed for two weeks and found both the Access Resort and Karon Beach to be excellent. Being located only 4k from Patong Beach it was easy to visit for the busier nightlife and shopping, while Karon offered a range of activities to fill both day and night. I would recommend the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary as a half day excursion, this really made our holiday.
Stayed here a few weeks ago and was amazed at the place. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Room service comes on a boat! Pure luxury. Regret only staying five days. I could have stayed much longer. It is situated central for everything, without being in the middle of the mayhem of Phuket.
Don’t expect the world from this hotel and you won’t be disappointed. It’s not perfect and yes some bits are a bit shabby but when you look past this and look at what you get for your money it’s a great little find. We booked direct with the hotel which was an easy process. The hotel also arranged airport pick up for us. We had to change this numerous times because of flight cancellations, delays and missed transits but the hotel were great and we landed and true to their word the car was waiting for us. More expensive than getting a cab but for peace of mind for us it was well worth it. The transfer took about 2 hours because of Friday night rush hour and roadworks. I must admit I was a bit worried about where I had picked when the cab turned off this shabby looking road into the hotel. I know my husband was thinking the same! Once through reception though it’s like a quiet oasis. The hotel greet all their guests with the names on a welcome board which was a nice little touch. Quickly checked in and shown the room briefly. We didn’t really care, we picked the hotel solely for pool access and was not disappointed. The room has all the usual bits and the bonus of a fridge. Plenty of supermarkets outside for water beers etc and the hotel don’t seem to mind you getting your own stuff. The room service is good especially the banana burger and the boat delivery is cute. You get used to the main stretch outside and it’s really handy to get everywhere. You just need to get your head into Thailand and Thai traffic and you are fine. Restaurants, mamma jins over the road and left, elephant by tan left out of hotel and 5 min walk both lovely Thai food. Right out of hotel and a nice Indian. Lots of currency exchange and supermarkets. Prices in hotel expensive by Thai standards but cheap compared to home. This hotel is what you make it. The pool at the end of your terrace is lovely, food and drinks nice, room fine and staff lovely. I could pick it to pieces if I had paid a fortune but it’s cheap and cheerful and if your not massively fussy it’s a great place to stay.
We stayed here in a November. The staff here are really a wonderful asset to the hotel, they will do anything to help and really try to give you great customer service. Breakfast: this was a mixture of rice, curry, salad etc, there is fruit, cereal and fruit juice. Toast. I always had the hot dog sausages and eggs, it did get monotonous after two weeks. There is an Irish bar in the town and they do an amazing breakfast, with bacon, sausage, black pudding etc. Also opposite the hotel is mama Jins, they do great food there and you can get a bacon sandwich. Location; it’s nowhere near the beach, it’s a good 25 minute walk, and in the heat that can be a bit much. There is NO pavement at all, you do have to walk on the road and it is dangerous. You never see Thai people walking, they are all on scooters, it’s only the holiday makers walking around. I was Utd not recommend that children or elderly stay here and if you do get a cab to the beach. There are lots of supermarkets and places to eat and drink around. The prices of a beer, coke or food outside of the hotel is a third of the hotel price or less. Spa: lovely staff, great massage, we did the couples two hour massage, which was lovely, well as long as you are prepared for how much Thai massage actually hurts then it’s lovely! But we paid 2500 baht for this whereas if you go outside, just about ten steps outside, you can get a massage for 300 baht per person. The hotel are overcharging here and they do need to review their prices. Room: the room itself was really nice, spacious, bed is rock hard ask them for a matress topper! It helps. Don’t use the mini fridge stuff, there’s a shop right next door that sells water, coke, beer, better to go buy it and put it in your fridge. The room had pool access, this was great, after a day out in the heat it was heVen to just get in the pool by your room. Pool bar is cool too, we did buy beers here as it was convient, but completely overpriced. For the price of one singha beer here 150 baht, in the bars you can get two beers, two shots and a bowl of nuts. The room cleaners are lovely, really helpful and they do a good job cleaning up, however they do wash the cups and glasses in the bathroom sink and the two water is undrinkable so be warned on that. We usually rinsed ours out with bottled water. Sheets were changed regularly and cleAn towels everyday. But, I would say that cleaning is not really thorough, I am not sure what cleaning products are used but I noticed that the bathroom in particular really needed a good clean, but it was just surface cleaned to be honest, which can cause tummy bugs. We had dodgy balcony chairs and we told the hotel, within an hour they had changed them, they were so helpful. Hotel pool is fabulous, definately a great feature. Hotel entertainment needs updating, it’s the same singer and keyboard player every single night. Singing the same songs, she is good and always gave us a wave as we passed through, but the monotony certainly didn’t encourage us to stay. That with the overpriced drinks, means the hotel has no evening atmosphere, it’s akways empty. The hotel gave us two free dinners, which was great, but the wine was crazy prices, we paid 895 baht for half a bottle of wine, the hotel reeLly need to review their prices here, it’s just too much. Food: the hotel food is good, it’s not the best, but the kitchens appear to be clean and colour coded for preparation, we ate there a few times for lunch and it was nice. It’s a shame they ove charge so much, for example lunch for two, Thai food with water at hotel 900 baht. Then lunch opposite hotel at mama Jins same food 300 baht. It’s non sensical really. We had a great time and enjoyed the stay, but I would ask the management to review the following: Evening entertainment Prices Cleaning products in room cleaning One final note. There are a number of Chinese that stay here but you neve see them, they don’t use the pool or laze about in the day, they are up early and out all day long. I noticed that the hotel put different groups int different parts of the hotel. All of the British were put together at the back, And I noted all of the Chinese were put st the front of the hotel. So when you enter the hotel the pool looks empty then you go to the back of the hotel and the pool there it’s fuller.
To call this place a resort is a joke, it a 3-2.5 star motor lodge at best. There is nothing that would tick a box to be a resort. I don't understand why anyone would want to stay here. It must be one of the worst places I have ever stayed and it completely changed my whole opinion on Phuket. Firstly, it is in Karon beach area which is nothing special at all, just some run down beach area. Secondly, it's nowhere near the beach in amongst some dirty area that takes about 20 minutes to get to the beach area. To get there you have to dodge the dogs, locals and cars as they go about their business and nearly knock you flying. It's a mess! The resort is dated and not well kept. Ok, it's clean but that's where it stops. Goodness knows when maintenance was last done. I found the staff extremely unhelpful and rude. I only stayed at this place because I was with a group and I feel it gave me a very bad opinion of Phuket. Don't waste your money staying here, stay somewhere decent. there is so many better place in Phuket that aren't some three-star backwash like this. There is no point staying in a beach area if you are nowhere near the beach and trust me you are not. There is no view and nothing of any interest nearby. The rooms are ok, but you need to get a deluxe room (if you have to stay in this place), the others are terrible, like some old motel. The pool is ok, but I don't know when they last fixed the tiles. Breakfast is good, but given that our whole party got sick and the only place we all ate together was here, I would be very careful what I ate. The water that comes out of the tapes and the shower is questionable. Yes, I know not to drink it, but I didn't expect that it would stain my clothes to the point that they are ruined because they got wet. They are covered in brown stuff and it won't come out. I asked the staff for assistance more than once and every time I did they were less than helpful. Sometimes I think they pretended that they didn't know English so that they didn't have to help. The staff round the place were better than the reception staff that could never bring themselves to solve any issues or be a bit helpful.
I originally checked into Access Resorts for 3 nights beginning 20/10/17. I was stunned by the beautiful landscape of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff and the room was decent sized for a family of 3. However, soon after arriving into the room, turned on the AC and for 20mins the room was still steaming hot like a sauna (truthfully the outside area with the pool was cooler than inside). So we contacted the front desk for help. We were then reinforced to turn the AC no less than below 20 or above 25 degrees C. (It was 31 degrees in the room and the AC was not working! How could we not turn the AC to full blast at 15 degrees?! ) So 20mins post their advice, and kept the AC on 20 degrees C, yet nothing was happening! Also during this time, we found a cockroach as big as my thumb crawling across our room! So we complained both issues to front desk! This time front desk finally took some action and asked maintenance to have a look at our AC. 30mins later when the check up was done, we were told the AC was broken, so obviously we were steaming in fury and wanted a room swap. We were told all rooms are full and could not accommodate us tonight until tomorrow! So by this stage we were so frustrated we decided to check out because they could not provide us with the appropriate compensation at the time! We weren't going to stay in a 30 degree room for the night!!! We obviously requested for a refund which at the time (2030hrs) concierge did not have the power to do and advised us to call the manager in the morning. Now, 3 weeks post my original check in date, my refund is yet to be reimbursed bc I booked the resort via Hotels.com and it is now up to Hotels.com discretion to offer the refund. (I have contacted Hotels.com and they told me they need to talk to Access Resorts which they couldn't find the appropriate party to speak to?!) Totally disappointed with this stay and their resolution to solve customer dissatisfaction
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The resort is located in Karon and is within walking distance of Karon beach and a few other restaurants and shops so its location is quite convenient. The resort itself is beautiful and the pool was quite refreshing. The fact that the pool was located right outside our door as well as a pool bar made the experience all the more enjoyable. The cocktails are fantastic!!! The staff were extremely friendly and service was excellent. They were very helpful and willing to go the extra mile. If anything, the service provided was the highlight of my stay at Access. Communication is definitely not an issue here. The breakfast buffet was average HOWEVER food from the resort’s own restaraunt was delicious particularly the banana chicken burger. This might be an acquired taste though but I loved it. I will definitely be coming back here next year and would highly recommend Access resort to anyone reading this.
Wow... where to start. Our party of 6 arrived here at 2am on a Saturday morning and where we were greeted with smiles and quickly arranged our rooms so we could get some sleep. With the morning light we realised we had picked somewhere just beautiful to stay. the Pool access rooms were great.. Grade a drink, sunnies and laze the day away in the pool.. (we did a little of that I must admit) The rooms are nice and clean, I agree the beds are a tad hard but mention this to reception and you are fitted with a mattess topper for the rest of your stay. We went on low season so it was quiet during the evening and it does seem popular with the chinese so expect a few at breakfast. Heres a tip at breakfast, Just order bacon and eggs, scrambled, whatever from the staff and they will have the kitchen prepare it.. Dont be fooled thinking there is no bacon :-) Location is at the top of the hill.. Yep its a hike to the beach or you can take the shuttle bus twice a day.. Or you can walk off the amazing food you over indulge in while in Thailand. Close to resturants and shops, you dont need to walk miles everyday. Now to the staff... Well they were amazing. If you treat them nice and have fun with them they will greet you each morning and night with bright smiles and ask how you slept or how your day was... This was by far the highlight of Access Resort, the wonderful people that work there.. Summery, Spend the money, stay here, you wont be disappointed.
We only had 4 days fantastic days here. The staff are amazing and very friendly. I booked direct through the hotel this was a easy process and I had read reviews so I requested a mattress topper before we arrived and this was on our bed so after a 9hr flight and getting at the hotel at 11pm I am glad I had requested this.We did a sunrise tour booked through the hotel and the hotel made us a breakfast box to take that was very thoughtful of them. The walk down to the shops was a bit of a challenge at first but if you be wary of the vehicles it is ok. We had a massage at the hotel and this was awesome the next day I had a massage in the street for half the price but this was not as good as the hotel massage. We ordered room service one night and this was delivered in the boat the food was nice. Overall we had a very nice stay and if we ever came back to Thailand we would stay here
