We had a lovely 2 week holiday and this hotel was a little paradise to escape the lovely hustle and bustle of Karon. The staff were all lovely especially reception, the pool bar staff and the lovely cleaners. All in all a very relaxing stay and great restaurants all around!
We were made welcome immediately. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Beautiful hotel, rooms are clean and spacious. The bathrooms could do with a bit of a make over but they’re clean. We were given 2 free meals during our stay - pasta night and Thai buffet. Really enjoyed the pasta night. Had room service a couple of times and lunch in the cafe. The food is good but not always very hot. Cocktails are excellent. Breakfast was a challenge for 2 weeks. There’s bread, pastries, yogurt, fruit, cereals, egg station and hot dishes. The hot dishes are mainly aimed at Chinese guests, omelettes are good. It would be better if the fruit was kept chilled and covered similarly with the pastries they should be covered The evenings are quiet in the hotel, there’s a singer who is good but not every night for 2 weeks. The pool is fantastic Hotel in a good location for the main shopping area Taxis are cheap and easy to get. We hired a taxi for the day and went up to Khao Lak, tsunami museum, turtle conservation sanctuary, Lampee waterfall and turtle beach. Really good day with Nin who was friendly and full of information. All the drivers were great
Set behind the main Karon beach road, Access is a lovely little hotel. Set around a set of pools and lagoons, every room’s terrace leads you to the water. Our room was a standard double. It was a decent size for 2 people and the big 4-poster was really comfortable. The bathroom could use a little updating, especially the shower which covered the floor with water when used. It didn’t really bother us. The air con could be a bit stronger but at least we weren’t sweating. It would have been nice to leave the air con on while out of the room but that’s not possible. We had breakfast which was fine. Fruit, yoghurt, freshly prepared eggs, bacon, sausage (weird) as well as some Thai and Chinese dishes (to cater for the many Chinese who stay here). Only criticism from us about breakfast was the terrible coffee from the machine. Just undrinkable. Even sachets of instant coffee and boiling water would have done us. Luckily, there is a good Italian coffee shop (Mr. Coffee) 100 meters down the street. We had lunch in the hotel’s cafe most days and the food was always superb. Their Thai salads and soups were incredible, washed down with a lemon shake. Location wise, it was fine for us. 15 minute walk to the beach and from the nightlife. They run 2 free buses to the beach at 10.00 and 14.00. The hotel staff were wonderful and always greeted us with that warm Thai smile. They really did make us feel at home and were super helpful. The only reasons I haven’t given Access 5* out of 5 is the terrible coffee, weak air con and shower. Overall though, this place is fantastic value for money, amazing staff and good location. We would really like to return someday. Thank you for a lovely holiday. David & Lisa
It was our 2nd visit to this hotel and the main reason for coming back was the pool access from every room. The room was ok, although a bit chilly at night because of the air conditioning. Breakfast also ok except the bread, which was very very white - not so healthy. The fresh fruit on the other hand was very nice. The staff was very friendly.
Writing this whilst looking at the pool from our terrace. This is the final stop on our Thailand trip before heading home and it is definitely the most luxurious. It is a beautiful resort and the pool access from every room is a brilliant idea! Breakfast is nice and the drinks from the swim up bar are not as expensive as you would expect in a hotel. They run a shuttle to the beach twice a day and there are bars, restaurants and shops just a short walk away. Would recommend.
This is our third visit to Access. We request to stay in the same room due to its location. The resort is tranquil and peaceful which provides the ambience we want and need for our holiday. The staff (our friends) are beautiful people as the are welcoming, warm and friendly. They are a very hospitable group of people who go over and above to make your stay a pleasant and memorable experience. The food at the resort is absolutely beautiful, as it is freshly made daily. We are so looking forward to our next visit in March 2019 and we will be extending our stay to 3 weeks!!
Stayed here for 11 nights and for the price paid it was good value for money. Rooms & bathrooms were very clean with rooms cleaned daily, beds are hard even with a topper. Staff were lovely always smiling and helpful. The breakfast was ok, they seemed to cater more for their Asian guests but saying that I didn’t starve! The lunch menu (only ordered twice, once it arrived by boat to our room) was good but pricey. Evening food, only ate at the hotel once because it was complementary but it wasn’t great, based on that experience we didn’t eat in the hotel again. The hotel location is excellent you are only a short walk away from the Main Street where you’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars & shops. Eating out is cheap and everywhere we ate the food was great, we ate some nights for as little as £8.50 total for two with drinks , and the most we spent was £30 total. There’s plenty of variety and if you love sea food you’ll be in heaven. The beach is only 10 mins walk away, but the hotel does provide a free shuttle bus if you need it. We only visited the beach once , it’s very busy with the loungers very close to one another, and there are loads of sellers for that reason we left after a short while. There are plenty of supermarkets, so buy your own beer, spirits, soft drinks and snacks it’s much cheaper than the hotel prices, we just asked at reception if they could remove all the non complementary items from the fridge and room which they were happy to do. This is a decent hotel and if you aren’t expecting 4 or 5 stars you be happy with your choice.
very nice hotel with great stuff and location is ok. Near is good restaurants. Huoneet ovat siistit, henkilökunta on ystävällinen, mutta osa puhuu ok englantia. Hinnat hotellissa korkeammat kuin ulkopuolella.
fist impressions were very good on arrival, second day after been out all day came back to find villa door wide open cleaners haven't shut the door we complained to receptionist they sent some body down with a can of spray 3rd 4th and 5th and 6th day came back to find door open this time there was chocolate missing from fridge after complaining again was told they remove it because it was out of date it got so we could not go out with the fear that the room would be left open anybody could walk in and help there selves so stayed in the rest of the holiday this really spoiled our holiday after all its a long way to travel to be treated like that, the hotel food didn't improve either they cater for the Japanese and Chinese not for the English you have to beg for bacon at breakfast time restaurant we had 2 evening meals ordered from there menu either of them matched the menu I would recommend anybody to eat out there's some wonderful meals out there I would class the access villas as a 3 star residence with a swim up pool.
We stayed for one week in a superior (basic) room with swim up pool access. The room was clean and all linen fresh everyday with good maid service. The pool is definitely a little tired and in need of repair as mentioned by others. And we had to complain about noise as we were given a room with an adjoining door that aloud you to here everything the other guests did (phones ringing, child screaming, doors slamming) which we solved ourselves by plugging the door gap with a duvet. Staff offered no solution. Only really had buffet breakfast which was good and varied but very busy at times. Air con would be ok if you could run it all the time but as you only get one magnetic key it has to go off if you choose to go out ☹️NEVER experienced this anywhere else in Thailand during our trip. It’s 35 degrees outside and we booked a room with air con so that it’s cool. Staff were always friendly and polite to us and we found the location to be ok. The baht bus runs right passed the main road which takes you to Old Phuket town for only 40 baht but go early as it gets busy. Taxis always available at reception if you want air con travel. Overall we had a good stay here and loved the pool access but I don’t think I would stay here again.
