Although traveling in the month of September, aka rainy season, our trip was wonderful. The resort was amazing, the food was delightful. At the time of our visit, the hotel only had one restaurant and the deli. The restaurant did an amazing job of offering all sorts of different fares. What made the trip amazing, was the quality of service. Our personal butler, Juan, was absolutely the bomb. He was very attentive, followed through with whatever was asked and an overall awesome butler! Also the pool bar waitstaff (Karu, Randy and Johni) was also incredible. The new what your usual was and made sure your drink was never empty. I would return to this resort just for the quality of service.
Great apartment, great view, great price, great (complementary bike). All you can wish for in a condominium! The only thing that brings this place down was my Russian neighbors being drunk and partying all night, bringing sleazy bar girls to their place. All other was world class!
The property is too good for a family or a group holiday...kitchen is full with all required items such as refrigerator, microwave, washer, cooktop etc along with all utensils... Rooms were pretty clean and beds were very much comfortable! Bathrooms were equipped with Jacuzzi which my kid enjoyed a lot! One issue which we faced was of power...electricity outage was there and no power backup was given in the apartment... View was awesome...I would surely like to visit this property again!
Stayed here for 3 weeks when our daughter was getting married and we were both having dental work. Proved to be a great choice and value for money, views were fantastic, apartment clean and well equipped, pools both lovely. Slight lack of English from limited staff on site but expected at this type of property, we definitely got by and they were all lovey and friendly and as helpful as they could be. Tip: rent a car as most of the locals don't like driving up and down the steep driveway, there is a basic shuttle but hours are limited, they do however do their best to accommodate you - a small set back considering everything else. Spa on balcony was superb but did need re-surfacing.
Stayed at appartment A11 via Airbnb. 2 bedroom appartment with a jacuzzi on the terrace. 10 min walk to Karon beach and the shops. The pool at Sunset Plaza is nice and refreshing. The only downside is that it's located on a high hill. Great for views, but not so great to walk every day. We rented a motorbike for 200 baht a day. This will defenitely make your trip more convenient, also because kata is 5 mins away. Don't forget to visit the big buddha. The view is simply amazing
We arrived morning before Office opened but our key was at the Office entrance with our name & apartment number on. A lady was there to assist us with our luggage & took us to our apartment. We already had great 1st impression of the stunning refreshing clean pool area (which we spend a lot of swims & night swims in-which is beautifully lit up at night). The apartment was clean & cool (from aircon-since ridiculously hot & humid outside). The bedrooms had fresh crisp linen (a huge plus for me since very fussy person). The kitchen & lounge was clean & tidy. Good kitchen facilities (a washing machine & dish washer would have been a bonus). Once a week the apartment is completely cleaned & fresh bath & swim towels are given. The vacuum cleaner included was a great for a quick clean of the beach sand & kids crumbs etc. We had a beautiful view of the Andaman Sea (Apartment A25) & a Jacuzzi on the Balcony with romantic Lights that change colour. Overall we were very happy with our stay & were comfortable. however from all the reviews from before we booked the apartment the Hill is no joke, but thank goodness we are very Fit & enjoyed the work out & then looked forward to jumping into the refreshing pool straight after. Even our 8 half year old son managed the hill (we had to carry our 4 year old son though on top of all the beach bags or 9ltr bottles of water at a time). the family mart just at the bottom of the hill across the road sold 6 x 1.5Ltr Bottle Water for only THB60.
The apartment: I stayed in unit A17...modern 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with nice bedrooms, living and dining area. Large balcony with Jacuzzi and fantastic view of Andaman Sea. On the ground level of the complex, there is a nice swimming pool. Location: If you're looking to be away from the hustle and bustle of the Patong area, then this is a good location. Downside is that if you want to hangout at Patong then it's about a 15-20 minute ride. To get to the condo itself, you have to walk up a short but very steep road so if you don't mind a bit of exercise (not so great if you have a lot of luggage). On the main road, you are across the street from Karon beach and some restaurants/bars (about a 5 min walk). I've noticed traffic is a lot worse since I was last in Phuket (20 years ago).
We stayed at Sunset Plaza for 3 nights. Amazing views. Our apartment was great - clean, modern and eqipped with all necessary tools. Apartment was not cleaned during our stay, but I wish it was. Warm shower with good water-pressure is worth for mentioning. Kids loved the 2 pools - water was clean and temperature good. Gym was poor. Internet quality was poor in public areas and very poor in a room. In 200m there is shopping street with restorants and shops. Location upside the hill was not a problem for our family. Beach is a 10min walk away. Additionial electricity fee (ca 200THB/day) was an unpleasant surprise. In conculsion I think Sunset Plaza is a really good place to stay in Karon.
We stayed in a 2 BDR condo for 11 nights, my in-laws joined us for 4 nights. I loved the view the living room offers. Its a comfortable size condo with well equipped kitchen to prepare breakfast and simple meals. The cleaning was done once during our entire stay, hope they did it more often since we brought in lot of sand from the beach everyday, or just provide a vacuum cleaner since sweeping the floors is not a fun activity while on vacation. The staff is very nice, they always greet you with warm smiles. There is a Jacuzzi in the balcony facing sea which is just perfect. Our two year old took bath in it everyday while we enjoyed the sunset/sunrise. There is an infinity pool and a stepped pool on the property, we enjoyed both to kill time on hot muggy afternoons. The shuttle service is operational from 9 am to 6 pm and is very helpful since the walk up the hill is exhausting especially if you are lugging some grocery or laundry! There is a family mart and fruit stand right at the bottom of the hill which is very convenient for daily grocery needs -bread, eggs, milk, shampoo, fruits, etc. Since the hill is very steep some taxi drivers were reluctant to drop us off at the end of the trip. For pick up we always had to walk down and catch a taxi from the family mart location, no driver came up. There is a laundry service right next to this family mart, we found that to be very helpful. The location is very good, its close to the busy streets but high up that you are isolated from it during the stay. Very quiet and peaceful, barely heard anybody around except for kids enjoying the pool which is always nice on vacations.
Stayed in one if the apartments, soulless place no atmosphere at all. No one would drive us back to our apartment because of the "so called hill" taxi and tuk tuk were more expensive than UK, apartment described as Luxury but really only average.
