Heading to NOLA for a long weekend and decided to head out a day early and stay overnight in Philadelphia to visit the casinos there for the first time. This was one of the cheaper options (for a Friday night stay) that also has a reputable company behind them (choicehotels.com). This came in extra handy once I realized there was a mistake with my reservation immediately after it was made. They took care of things right away. The actual hotel is what you should expect for the money you pay. There are definitely a few problems, but nothing we couldn't survive. We checked in around 8pm and our room was on the 2nd floor. The woman at the counter was super nice and even though we arrived at the same time as a few other people, check-in was quick and simple. After coming back from grabbing a bite to eat and visiting the casinos, we did find that there were men out on the balcony for quite a while. You could hear them talking and stomping back and forth. They weren't overly loud, but they were very distracting. The ice machine upstairs wasn't working so we had to go back downstairs to find ice. As we were leaving in the morning, we found they had left a nice display of empty beer cans along the balcony railing. The room itself was fine. There were a few cosmetic blemishes, but nothing to get too wound up about. The bathroom was rather small, but it served its purpose. I was a little scared that the tv might come off of the wall, but it didn't. I walked around the room with just my socks on and my feet did not get dirty. There was also free wifi that was surprising fast. So all in all, I can't really complain too much about this place. For one night, it was more than adequate and that's why I give it 4 stars rather than 3. Would I stay here again? During the week, for only a night or maybe even two night, I would stay here again. If I were going to visit on the weekend again, or for more than a few nights, I would probably just stay at the casino next time.
We were looking for a hotel for the night and didn't want to spend 100.00. Checked the hotels and the reviews and we took a chance on this hotel. Very pleasantly surprised. The rooms are nice and clean and the beds are comfortable. No bugs nobody hanging out in parking lot. Hotel staff is very friendly.
Rooms nice 1st night .3 guys on breeze way drink a case of beer. 2nd night group puts a grill on 2nd floor. for balcony carcoal. if course smoke sucked in to room from ac .called desk about excessive yelling as drink ing..l would advise some where else if you want to sleepcontinue s no change.
Despite some of reviews I read, we had a pleasant stay. Rooms were very affordable. Hotel was clean. Stay was very friendly and helpful. Convenience store, McDonalds and Subway within walking distance. Only cons were that room had a slight odor and pool was kind of small. I would stay again for value
Our complaint was not with the room, but with the fact that management seemed to have no rules. There was a guy trolling the parking lot continually in a large pick up truck who really creeped us out. Then there was another truck where the owner kept blowing the horn. The noise outside was disturbing and continued well past 10:30 pm. Then some of the noise moved inside. I am not sure if this is a place for prostitutes or drugs, but something was going on that has never occurred so overtly at any other place we have stayed. Unless management cleans up these problems, steer clear. You won't get any sleep.
You get what u pay for. The water was light brown. The bathroom tub was not very clean. A hole in the ceiling in the bathroom. The two wall outlets were not working on the vanity. I had to unplug the microwave to use my hair straightener from across the room. Never again!
This is not my style. The room has a smell and had to continue to spray. 1St room king television did not work. Moved down doors n double bed..... Breakfast........ Place for construction/contractor workers Use to be Quality Inn
This place was ver nice and clean outside and in lobby and breakfast area. Breakfast was minimal but adequate. The beds were ok and traffic noise was not very loud. My wife and I stopped in here about 10 at night and were very tired. We slept good so that was what we were looking for. Didn't matter that the pool was very tiny. We didn't need it anyway.
This place is a dump. The door doesn't close very good. What I mean is that unless the deadbolt is locked then your door isn't secure. The pool is SMALL. Our room, though it was listed as nonsmoking, smelled like smoke. The bathroom is SCARY. I will post pics of what I mean. The staff is friendly and that's the best thing I can say about the entire location.
The picture of the showerhead above was taken by me in Room 115. There was also what appeared to be mold/mildew on the ceiling above the bed. Walls were very very dirty near the light switches. Only positive was Sue at the front desk at check-in.
