Libertel Gare Du Nord Suede

As in so many hotels in Paris, the room was very small. We ended up putting the chair on top of the desk, because with two large bags we had no room to walk around! But the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and the staff were very pleasant. We were just there for one night to catch the train to the UK from the Gare du Nord, and it was perfect for that - just a short walk to the station.

The hotel itself is in a good location (close to metro / train stations) - although - not the nicest area. I wouldn't want to walk around alone late at night. The staff were nice and welcoming, but we did find a beg bug during our stay. It was traumatizing to say the least. I understand that it can happen anywhere, but the lack of appropriate response from the hotel manager at Libertel Gare du Nord Suede was disappointing. I found the bed bug and gave it to hotel reception (in a plastic baggie) the night before my departure. He recommended emailing the hotel manager which I did. I left before the manager arrived the following day. I received an email two days later that was clearly copied and pasted from corporate apologizing for the experience. It wasn't even from the manager of the hotel but someone in corporate from Libertel. It didn't even bother the substitute my name...it just said "cher monsieur." I feel like all the hotel manager did was forward my email on to corporate for them to copy and paste a response to me. Not ok. The hotel manager is not focused on customer satisfaction with this unacceptable handling of the situation.

Very helpful staff, close to subway station and many places to eat in the area!

Hotel is centrally located and convenient, a short walk from Gare du Nord. Staff is very helpful, room was clean and very comfortable (sparkling new shower/sink/toilet), also quiet. Breakfast was well worth the 10E. Overall an excellent choice.

I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. The receptionists are wonderful and want you to have a great stay. The location is very convenient and at a walking distance from both Gare du Nord and Gare Est. There are restaurants, boulangeries, and cafes close. There's a supermarket across the street and Saint Quentin market close by. The San Quentin market has ethnic foods, french cheeses, fruit veggies etc. The hotel rooms are small. My cosy room was the size of a dorm room However, they provide you with all the basics. Very comfortable bed, clean fresh looking linens, hair dryer, dispensable bodywash/shampoo provided. No lotion. Electric water kettle tea and coffee provided. French windows in the rooms with translucent curtains. For privacy there is a button for shutters that darken the room well. The only negative thing is that the walls are not entirely sound proof. If your neighbors are noisy, you will know it. Most likely they will be tired travelers like you and sleep early. I would definitely stay here again.

Rooms are small by American standards, but overall good for Paris. Breakfast is ok, I would recommend going elsewhere. No air conditioner and it is on a very loud street. Not sure if it's a bad neighborhood or just Paris but every hour a police car came by with its siren on. But you can't beat how close it is to the Metro/Train Station.

The room was spacious enough for one person (I had the Cosy Single or whatever the room was called for one person). The shower stall could've been a little bit bigger (I'm 5'4", 180lbs) but spacious enough to do a hot wash of the important parts. My bed was comfortable and definitely clean. Loved that the heater worked almost immediately and was practically a sauna in 5 min. I would come here again.

I expected more room space, but It was adequate. The amenities were very functional without any problems. The staff was also very helpful despite the language problems. The convenience of shops and eating places in close proximity together with public transport made our stay more pleasurable. Would return the next time I am in Paris.

The surroundings are typical of a train station but the hotel is all we hoped for.

Good hotel, good location very close to the train station. Just stayed overnight but it was pretty easy access and good dining.

It was really great place, I love the people, they were wry helpful specially the Italian receptionist who works there. Very clean and safe. Close to everything you need.

Good location if you are traveling to Gare du Nord. Clean and organized. Rooms are very small but if you only book this to sleep after long days as a tourist in the city is fine.

Friendly staff, great location, just 2 blocks from the Gare du Nord (train to airport)

I chose this hotel because I had to make an early train from the Gare du Nord. The neighborhood is not where I'd choose to stay otherwise, but it's not as bad as some say, as long as you exercise normal urban vigilance. Meanwhile, the hotel was impeccable. I paid extra for the Privilege Room, and it was fairly large, if somewhat spartan. Double glazing on the streetside window insured that traffic noise was minimal, and I like to be able to open the window and look down at the life on the street. There's also a small outdoor courtyard where smokers can do their thing. Staff was friendly and helpful. A tiny thing--a hotel at this level should have glass drinking glasses; flimsy plastic makes me feel like I'm in a Motel 6...

Comfy small room. Great Location at Paris Nord. We had the floor, first or second, with no view at all thru window. Try to get a higher floor room. We didn't have the breakfast at the hotel and had it outside, but 8:00AM in the morning in Paris was still in darkness, which I can't quite figure.

Friendly staff. Cozy single room was rather small (seemed more like a dorm room). The shower was rather cramped too. And noise was not an issue in my particular room, facing the courtyard. But the hotel was near the train station with a lot of connections and the price was right. Would stay here again.

It is by far the smallest room and bathroom I have ever seen. But it was clean and with a good breakfast. It is really close to the train stations (S and N). The staff was friendly, we even ended up staying an extra day but not for the same rate. The mattress was really good.

Very practical and neat renovation of a small hotel near the North train station. Soundproof windows made all the difference! Staff spoke English and were very helpful.

Well, my story is a bit interesting. I was traveling from Brussels and had not made any reservations in Paris. I got off the train and started to walk. This was the first hotel I passed so I went in and asked for rates and avaialablity. He said he only had one room and it would be 90E. I said no/thanks to the internet caft a few doors down and booked using orbits. When back to the hotel and checked in at half the price. This place has Free Internet!!! Location is good for getting around the city.

Stayed at the hotel for leisure travel. Great location for train station east or north. Also metro and open bus tour really close. There were alot of places to eat very close too. The room was small but seemed to be clean. They ammenities listed said the had air condition was seemed odd being eupore. The was a fan figure that was what they met. Also they didnt give you fresh towels each day the just hung up your old ones, not cool. They did have a place where you could leave your luggage locked up after check out so you dont have to carry your stuff around. Over all not bad hotel
