Tryp hotel ( also known as Hotel Paris Opera) belongs to Melia group. This is a good everge level 4 stars hotel. The hotel has an excellent location on boulevard Montmartre in front of Grand Boulevard Metro station - line 8 + line 9. Easy access to most of the attractions by metro and also by walking. The famous old secret passages and galeries: "des panoramas", "jouffroy", "verdeau" and "galerie vivienne" are next to the hotel. Most of the top 10 recommended passages are in a short walking distance. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well sized. The breakfast is quite poor for 4 stars hotel, especially for the one that belongs to Melia group.
Stayed in the Paris Opera because of the reviews, it didn’t disappoint. Great location, central with metro stop right outside. Quick check-in with polite professional staff . Lovely room, couldn’t fault it. We ended up staying for breakfast the next day, this was varied and plentiful. Will have to take my partner to Paris now, and will definitely rebook the Paris Opera !
We only stayed 3 nights. First night hotel gave us a very small room. I daclare that that is not the room I saw on the internet and I paid for. Second day after our travel agencys email and my continous complaints. I achived to speak hotel manager. Second day Hotel gave us the right room. Probably if did not complain. I would stay a smaller room but I paid for a bigger one.
I reserved this hotel and cancelled it at the same day, I booked it on 04/04/2018 to enter on 12/05/2018. The same day I cancelled it when I realised that I was made by error (the same day). Hotel Cancelled it but my money was already debited. 716 Euros just for some hours of error. Now they will book it again but will earn the double. PLEASE I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!! Many mails sent by the dont want to listen to me.
The hotel is situated in the middle of Paris, very close to many museums and attractions, you can reach them walking if want. There is a buss from the airport (Charles de Gaulle) that it has a stop in Opera square, 10/15 minutes to the hotel. The service is friendly and ready to help, most of them talk spanish if you need it. The rooms are clean and spacious but I little bit noise. This area has a lot of pubs, clubs (night life) and they close after midnight so you must consider it.
Starting off with the general location... the best! We loved the area and it’s location was perfect for the bars and restaurants- even the metro outside. Lobby is nice and staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean but that’s as good as it got. It is like the pictures but much smaller. Luckily, you don’t spend a lot of time in the room. But if you want a clean and comfy bed this is perfect but not quite 4* I’m afraid- you expect a little more. The pictures attached are the generators and the ‘courtyard’ from our room. The rooms were boiling and I mean boiling. It was unbelievable as you walked into your corridor you hit with a wall of heat as if the air had no where to escape. This continued into your room. We tried to open our windows to cool the room but you just hear the generators and the smell from the kitchen? Anyway, check out the pictures. Ask for a street view... I’m sure they will be cooler. Also the air con did not work.
Having learned from previous trips and having only 3 days to spend at this location, I decided to splurge on this hotel reservation in central Paris. I booked a room using my Hilton rewards number, and was delighted to find such a welcoming & friendly staff, great convenient location (Gare Saint Lazarze area, directly next to the large train & metro station), and spot only a few blocks from the Champs Elysee & Arch de Triumph. The shopping was slightly out of my price range ;), but I enjoyed several meals at the local cafes right across from and down the street from the Paris Hotel Opera.
Rooms were very small and basic , the WiFi was rubbish but overall the location and staff were lovely. I’d definitely go again. The breakfast was expensive so we eat out. We enjoyed Paris and will be back. The Irish but across the road is mega expensive and full of kids. I’d avoid that if your an adult looking to chill after travelling. But if your young , rich and want to get on it - go for it. The Euro 💶 doesn’t go far!! Lol
Metro and bus lines right outside hotel. Super convenient to tourist areas - can take bus#20 from Gare de Lyon straight to the door. We were pleasantly suprised with the size of a twin room. The breakfast area has been moved from the back of the hotel to the front with great natural lighting and a terrific breakfast buffet and a friendly staff who know to keep the coffee coming. Lots of restaurants and museums nearby. Two metro lines just outside the door. 4 or 5 buses. CLEAN
On a positive note, this was in a great location. Centrally to all the restaurants and pubs in the Opera area with the metro just outside. The staff were really friendly and helpful. it was clean, looked fresh and modern. The negative site. We had an internal room which looked out into the middle courtyard, which had 2-3 generators in. The room was tiny, you could not "swing a cat" in the room and was so hot. I don't normally suffer with "hot", if anything I moan about the cold, but this room was boiling. There was no air conditioning available, even though they had the dials etc. We tried opening the window, but this made no difference at all. It was really stuffy. The bed was crammed into the room and we had two hanging lamps beside the bed. My partner, every time he turned over in bed, he hit his head on the lamp. The bathroom was very clean, but the shower - I have never seen such a small shower. I am 5ft 10" and very slim. The shower was a corner shower with a corner entry door. I could just about squeeze in, but if you wanted to bend down in the shower - no chance. You had to sliver down to get the shampoo on the floor. Also, the manager of the cleaner's came to our room twice (because we did not have the "do not disturb" sign on our room in the middle of the day) - but the room was never cleaned in the 3 nights that we spent there. If you want a hotel which is central, clean then this is great. If you want a little bit of comfort - look elsewhere.
