The hotel was fine. The location is good and the price was even better. The hotel is dated but we didn't come to Paris to spend time in the hotel. It was clean and breakfast was included in the price.
It is one of the cheapest hotels around. Firstly, it is a very good location. I would say it is walking distance away from famous tourist spots such as Sacre Coeur. It is a little hotel as the name recommends but clean though. Thanks
This is a no frills hotel. The room and bathroom were small but clean, shower worked well and the beds were comfortable Breakfast was adequate Interesting area adjacent (St Martins canal) with restaurants, bars, shops and very close to Metro and walking distance to Gare du Nord
I found the staff pleasant, but then I always do. The room was very clean but the smoke smell came in under the door even when I put the bath mat rolled up at the bottom. It was a basic hotel at a basic price, convenient for the Gare du Nord station (a 15 min walk with baggage, less without) and also the metro. The lift was broken until the last day, it didn't bother me at all but some might have minded, for example the less able and the lazy.
Staff at reception was superb in hotel as well as location of the hotel, but otherwise I would never recommend this hotel to anybody. Why: 1. it is SMOKING hotel, so there is cigarete smoke in rooms 2. rooms are noisy and while we stayed there was broken pump or some other equipment so all the time was load noise even in nights!!!! 3. furniture and bathrooms are far from the best and the room is very small to even navigate 4. although rooms were cleaned daily, you could see big stains on carpets, bathroom etc. that i think are not cleanable any more Wifi was OK, although it required each time to input password and sometimes there was drop of signal. And I first time saw so small elevator - I think it could be challenging for some bigger guy or lady to get into it:) We did not risk to try it so not sure was it operating. And while nobody used elevator they had no lights in stairs on some floors - so there was total darkness to navigate in stairs.
Old dirty hotel. Smell of cigarettes in the room despite that we had booked a non-smoking room. When asked to change, the reception told us that all rooms are smoking rooms (despite expedia.co.uk showing that we booked a non-smoking room). Rude reception. Hearing women having night fun, we realised that this might be a short stay hotel for pairs. Worst of all; Posters everywhere stating that the hotel management is not responsible for lost items in the room. So, the hotel management states everywhere that on our absence out visiting the city, they are not responsible if someone steal things from our locked room? This was my worst hotel experience ever.
I would like to have given this hotel three and a half or even four marks as it is so convenient for railway stations, metro, restaurants and sights but it is a dated 2 star With small rooms. The staff on reception and serving breakfast were friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom were cleaned and made up every day and clean towels provided. We were on the fourth floor but had good wifi connection although we had to log on each time we wanted to be online. Our room was very small and basic but had a tv, small safe and tiny bathroom. At six foot two inches tall and fifteen stone the shower was quite a squeeze for me but the water was always hot and at a reasonable pressure. Our window faced onto an internal courtyard so despite being in a busy area we had very little noise. We never used the tiny lift so benefited fitness wise from the eighty stairs to the fourth floor!!! It's a basic two star hotel with friendly staff in an excellent location.
Hospitality is the only think that is nice in this hotel. They want you to feel well but the hotel furniture is so bad. The cleaning of the hotel is good to very good. If you don't care to much about the furniture then you can go there.
We booked the hotel for its location and our budget. The room would have benefited from a makeover and tea/coffee facilities were sadly missing. However, it was in quite a good location relatively close to Gard de Nord, metro links and several bus routes. Most importantly, it was very clean and comfortable. We also had use of a safe deposit box in our room, free from charge. The Place de la Republique is less than five minutes' walk, so a very good location for evenings out with access to some very nice restaurants. Breakfast was included in the price. It comprised of orange juice, tea/coffee, a croissant and bread with butter and jam. Everything was fresh and very tasty. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great 3 nights stay.
Took the family for a long weekend to Paris and booked this hotel online. It's close to Gare de Nord, and the nearest Le Metro stop is literally on the corner of the street. The hotel is over five floors and has a cellar which has been converted into a breakfast room, with the small reception obviously on the ground floor. As far as facilities are concerned, there are none. Breakfast was included and consisted of a croissant and half a baguette with butter and jam, orange juice and a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. The rooms are small but have en suite, and it really depends what you want from a hotel. If you want swimming pools and room service you will obviously have to pay more, but we were looking for a 'pied a terre' while we explored the city, and this place was perfectly adequate for that. The location is good. As I said, the Metro is at the end of the (short) street, on a main road which leads to La Republique which features several restaurants (including (shudders) McDonalds and other chains) and clothing shops. There were an alarming number of sirens in the area, but I found that in London and New York, so I think it's just a product of being in a big city when I generally live in a small town.
