Been in Paris several times, worst hotel so far. The noise was abnormal: traffic, people, subway... The whole hotel shakes every time a subway comes by (every 5 minutes). Conclusion: sleeping is impossible. Breakfast until 10, they refuse to refill at 8:30, so nothing is left at 9. Unfriendly personnel.
Had a quite pleasant stay in the hotel. When we arrived we were given a room in which the central heating was not working, but the staff gave us a new room really fast! It's a very good option when traveling to Paris, both for the location and for the price. The room was quite tiny. Breakfast was quite good, nothing out of this world, but it is worth what it costs.
I really enjoyed their service, really nice people, know english, amazing for the summer when u travel and need aricondishner by the end of the day! Very clean and professional. The room i had was very beautiful with nice cool view to the city, the hotel is in a perfect part of paris, very centeral but at the same time not very croweded and around u can find so many bars and restaurants by walking! And its near a metro station, 1 min walking Thank u for having me
Stayed here for 1 night because our flight to Barcelona got cancelled (Air France strike). Room is decent size for Paris. I stayed on the 5th floor facing the main street. Room can hear the subway, which runs til 2am. Unless you are a heavy sleeper, I don't recommend sleeping in a room facing the street. My friend had a room on the 6th floor facing inside had no problem with any noise. The staffs were helpful and friendly.
Pros: - Great location located right near the metro station Norte Dame de Lorette, Opera Garnier, department stores Galeries Lafayette - Very modern atmosphere with renovated rooms and area - Friendly staff which will help direct you to places to eat, and places in the Paris area - Safe location as the main hotel entrance is locked during the night - Breakfast avaliable for €14 - Large room (the one we stayed in) - In room safe - Large television with English channels - Fairly good bathroom amenities - Clean linens and fairly clean room Cons: - Referring to the title, if you are paying for breakfast at this hotel I would suggest you go down early at about when it starts (07:00 AM-10:00AM) or else there will be no food left. The breakfast lady was incredibly rude as she only greeted people who looked European and only said "good morning" if you said it first to her in French, otherwise she will just look up and continue working. During our stay, we realised that after 08:00 little bread and pastries were put out, coffee is rarely made, meats and cheese are scarcely put out and there is hardly anything to eat, and during this time we notice that the lady was always chewing on something, which raised some questions about what she was doing in the back room. The breakfast quality is not bad and it was actually pretty good, when the food is available to eat. - The bathroom sink faucets are the most poorly designed, fixtures that I have ever come across refer to some other images and you will see. - There are no door knob/handles on the doors so when you enter the room you need the key - Small elevator - Sound is a big factor at this hotel as you can hear the train from the metro go by all the time. Luckily we were on the 6th floor but we could still hear and feel it quite well. - No room cleaning door signs or do not disturb signs so if you don't want or want your room to be clean be sure to let the front desk know. Conclusion: This hotel is actually very good from the staff at the front desk to the room itself. This modern and comfortable hotel is ideally located and provides a comfortable sleep. The breakfast was a major turn off and I would not recommend people to purchase the breakfast unless you are determined to go at 7 AM and eat. Only 2 of the 3 breakfast ladies we encountered were rude, so don't be entirely turned off by the breakfast. Overall I would recommend this hotel as it was a great stay while in Paris.
A value-for-money, well placed hotel that is suited for short stay, offers clean and equipped rooms and no-frills but complete comforts. Room size and spartan style (albeit modern) make this hotel not suited for long stay or for a family trip but a definitive choice for business and weekend travel. No bar, if you want to have a drink at night there is plenty of places around. Room service is available and the menu is quite varied. Decent breakfast, continental style. Personnel speaks English and is friendly and helpful. Someone might have issues with noise: a Metro line runs just under the hotel and one can feel the Metro when it passes through, I have to say that this does not happen any moment, rather occurs once a hour (strangely enough).
I honestly recommend this hotel to anyone. It was clean, not too small-exept the lift that was capable to fit only one person, and for that reason i gave four points. I didnt buy breakefast so i can't make an opinion. The wifi worked very well on the top flor.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Chateaudun. Our 5th floor corner room was large enough for the king sized bed, desk, chair, luggage and us. The bed was comfortable, made with soft, quality linens and had individual reading lights. There was an in-room safe, but unfortunately, no coffee or tea maker. All the usual bathroom amenities awaited us along with a good working hair dryer and nice size tub. Two sets of double french doors allowed for cross ventilation and access to the wrap around balcony. The streets below were busy at times, but closing the french doors eliminated any city noise. The neighborhood had several bakeries and bristros serving pastries and freshly prepared breakfast items each morning. A nice relaxing breakfast and better value than the hotel's continental breakfast. The hotel's staff was very helpful and friendly, the location was good, and we would love the stay at the Hotel Chateaudun on our next visit to Paris!
Paris is always a bit challenging place of finding a hotel from the centre. This hotel has perfect location, tiny but acceptable rooms, good service and nice buffet breakfast in Paris scale. It is a bit pricy compared to level - except not in Paris.
For business purposes I stay at this hotel about once a month. Unfortunately my wife has to stay back in Montreal, but as I said to her, I'm not traveling to Paris for the hotel (giggles and chuckles). The hotel is conveniently located as it is less than a 3 minute walking distance. However there are too often issdues with maintenance that I care for. I will seek out a new hotel to stay at for my next trip to Paris in October.
