Stayed there for the show. Close to Metro, shopping, restaurants, and walking distance to DOM, etc. We stayed there 2 yrs ago and they have made many improvements to the facilities including; the gym, cafe (restaurant), and the rooms.
I stayed 5 nights at the 1K Hotel in Paris, and it was such a comfortable stay. The rooms are quiet and spacious, and the decor is modern and tasteful. The metro is also right nearby, though you're right in the heart of Marais which has amazing cafes and shops, so you don't have to venture far. I can't say enough about the staff here. I missed my flight home, and when I mentioned it to Philippe at reception he offered to help me arrange another flight. I wouldn't have even thought to ask, but thank goodness he did, because everything was in French - all the calls we made and some of the booking sites too. Philippe helped me find a new flight home by both searching online was also trying to call airlines to book a seat. But MOST amazingly, when my credit card got blocked by my bank Philippe offered to use his personal credit card to secure the seat!! What?! Who does that for a total stranger they'll likely never see again?! So trusting with a genuine interest in helping out a guest. I wired back the money as soon as I got home, but that is definitely going above and beyond. I'm still in shock. Thanks for a wonderful stay and thanks for helping me get home Philippe!!
Stayed two nights here. The room was very bright and quite spacious. Modern and clean although the bathroom was a bit cramped and shower arrangement not ideal. Very hot outside so pleased that the air conditioning worked! There is a strong South American theme that night not suit all. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Fresh orange juice scores high for me! And decent coffee! Restaurant menu definitely South American, looks interesting, and might be worth a try. However there are some very good restaurants within 5 minutes walk ( see reviews). Staff were very friendly.
Clean, great location, good bed, helpful staff. I usually have some kind of complaint but not here. I do love boutique hotels and if this was not one, it sure felt like it. The Marias district felt more like a neighborhood and is away from all the tourist areas but close enough to get there. The underground station is right outside the door.
It is my second time that I choose 1K Paris Hotel to spend my days in Paris. And it feels like home because the staff is so friendly and service so on point. The suite is a perfect so it's best choose if you decide to visit Paris to stay at 1K Hotel.
Great location in the Marais, accessible to most of the Paris sights on foot, if you like to walk. The guest room was elegant and comfortable (great shower). A definite downside was the breakfast. There were the same scrambled eggs (terrible looking so we didn't dare to eat) and sausages every day, a few bread choices, and some whole fruit. One day no one had set up breakfast until 9:30. The coffee machine was fine, but if you wanted coffee only, you had to get permission so as not to pay full price. It was expensive at 18 Euros. One day the elevator was not working, and the stairwell was quite dark, especially for 4 flights. Front desk staff were not all very friendly, though one was very kind. There is a nightclub on the premises, but we did not use it. I would stay again, but get breakfast elsewhere.
We usually stay up the road at the Crowne Plaza Republique but thought would give this a try. Room was booked for 1 as my company did the reservation. While the room was nice, quiet, lovely windows and view to the courtyard - there were actually 2 of us. Good thing we're a couple as it was quite small, and just a hallway to the bathroom with no door. There are larger rooms, so the moral is if you're more than 1 be sure to make that clear in advance. Bathroom was fine, but shower needs a curtain or glass please. Yes I know it 'ruins' the moderne chic, but it also keeps the water in the shower, my precious designers. Try stay in your rooms sometime and you'll figure this out! Breakfast was ok but also rather minimal. A cooked egg/omelette/etc. is included, but you have to find the elusive breakfast room attendant to order it. Didn't try the restaurant, but menu looked interesting.
The hotel is located in a prime spot of the Nord Marais, close to the Place de la République with easy road access by the wide Boulevard du Temple. With an early use of LED lighting, bold colors and LCD flat panel TV, the rooms were a novelty in the 90’s, but some now need refreshing. Rooms on the Boulevard are quite noisy, as well as the rooms above the ‘party spaces’ i.e. most of the hotel. Due to my short stay, I did not try the restaurant, but the hotel is more known for its bars and cocktail lounge than for its cuisine. Staff is very friendly and tries to help. The 1K is the third hotel at 13 Boulevard du Temple, and I -or my friends- tried the 3 implementations. The old building –previously a car repair shop- was gutted in the 90’s to become a condo hotel (42 units fully owned by individuals and managed by a hotel company) named Murano Resort of DSK fame. It was followed by the short-lived ‘Streets’ hotel, then now by the '1K', still managed by the 'Les Hotels de Paris' company. In the process, the rooms went for very expensive to more reasonable rates, but the party orientation of the premises remains.
Hotel was quite easy to find - location was good. We booked 6 room and it was a suprise we had to pay a deposit - it wasn´t stated when we booked the rooms. All 6 rooms were different in terms of sizes and cozyness. The room we stayed (we took 5 twin and 1 double room) was quite small, the smallest I think and it had carpets - which I didn´t like. All the rooms were with double beds - but we could separate them. When we separaded the beds in our room we discovered that one bed didn´t have a leg and it was impossible to sleep on it. we changed the room - we were given a double room again - there we couldn´t separate the beds and had to call help from reception. It was quite funny to see the guy from reception trying to chance the bed sheets in our really small room. I thing it was the firts time ever he changed the sheets. The wifi didn´t work in the new room the first day. What was a suprise was that the cleaning ladys had put our beds back togehter. the room itself was clean and quite ok. The coridors were really dark. there were 12 of us and onfy 5 could fit in the elevator and I didn´t mind taking the stairs - but please put some lightning there.
I recently stayed at 1k with a friend for her birthday. We arrived late and the receptionist was very nice and welcoming. As soon as we got in to the room, we got blown away ! Beautiful space, great bed and warm swimming pool on the rooftop with a view of Paris...what else? Nice breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and various choice of products. Another amazing time at 1k hotel, looking forward to our next visit.
