After coming back from Italy, we spent our last two nights at the 1K. First off, it is in a great neighborhood, sandwiched between Republique and Le Marais, two of the most happening neighborhoods in Paris. We were able to hop on the metro right next door, literally a 1 minute walk, to easily get to a bunch of other areas we were perusing. Upon arrival, the staff was sweet, and we were welcomed with a big room, that had a large, and very comfortable bed, a ton of closet space, and a spacious bathroom, (complete with robes- which we love) and very hip wall art, which I think is unique to each room in the hotel. It was also a plus to have great wi-fi and air conditioning as it was quite warm in Paris that weekend. We had our dinner after landing from Naples from a long delayed flight and can only rave about the food. We tried most everything on the menu, and after days of eating tourist Italian food, it was a welcome change to try their wide range of ceviche, tacos, and steak, served with the most delicious chimichurri. Being married to a Colombian, and living in LA, I can say with certainty, the food at the 1K is very authentic, probably the best latin food in Paris. The general manager, Andres greeted us at dinner and even bought us a round of drinks. This was so appreciated after traveling all day. The cocktails were also DELICIOUS. We basically drank their PURPURA drink like it was water. For those that don't know, there is also a rooftop pool and small bar on the third floor, that has a quaint rooftop patio. There is also a speakeasy style, Bar Clandestino, which you enter through the kitchen. They have a wide and varied selection of Mezcal and other delightful drinks on the first floor that has a great atmosphere, though a totally different vibe than the rooftop area. The breakfast was also perfect, and very Parisian, and then some. They had a great big fresh orange juice machine and a coffee machine, where you could press whatever fancy espresso drink you want, and BAM, there it was. We personally, loved it. All in all we had a great time, and highly recommend this spot!
The rooms are good, the bed are good, yhe service are good, everything, but I really don't like the aquarium as a decoration with a animal inside. It is a lizard. The poor guy are there alone, all his life, the aquarium is small. I don't think it is necessary that type of crueltly with the poor animal. We are all tired to know the animals must be free. Makes no sense this animal there locked. Nobody see, if is there or not, doesn't make any difference. Me and my friend try to talk with the owner about this, but we were told he does not care. This is seriouly. In all world the animal consciousness is growing, brands or business that mistreat animals are seen as ugly, as a bad example. So I think he is better care.
This is probably the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We arrived Friday evening to our room with booming music underneath - this came from the hotel bar which closes at 2.00. We got another room but noise levels not much better. Next morning we had a wedding but to our dismay, no hot water. We called and the receptionist told us someone would come. 10 minutes and nobody appeared so I called. This time I suggested they give us access to another room to shower which we did. When we came back later they guaranteed it was fixed. Our floor was still wet from the cleaning. Still no hot water and I was told there is a problem in this part of the building. Another hotel employee came to our room and after 15 minutes of running the tap the water became warm. I won't go into the wastage here. All this time the hotel manager is absent but will be back Sunday. A couple of employees told us they had notified the management on the noise but no action. On Sunday we spoke to the manager who would not give and money back. Monday they offered us 100 Euro but charged us the extras they had offered us. Anyone please think twice before you book this hotel. I really had the feeling of being swindled by some dodgy management.
Stayed there for the show. Close to Metro, shopping, restaurants, and walking distance to DOM, etc. We stayed there 2 yrs ago and they have made many improvements to the facilities including; the gym, cafe (restaurant), and the rooms.
I stayed 5 nights at the 1K Hotel in Paris, and it was such a comfortable stay. The rooms are quiet and spacious, and the decor is modern and tasteful. The metro is also right nearby, though you're right in the heart of Marais which has amazing cafes and shops, so you don't have to venture far. I can't say enough about the staff here. I missed my flight home, and when I mentioned it to Philippe at reception he offered to help me arrange another flight. I wouldn't have even thought to ask, but thank goodness he did, because everything was in French - all the calls we made and some of the booking sites too. Philippe helped me find a new flight home by both searching online was also trying to call airlines to book a seat. But MOST amazingly, when my credit card got blocked by my bank Philippe offered to use his personal credit card to secure the seat!! What?! Who does that for a total stranger they'll likely never see again?! So trusting with a genuine interest in helping out a guest. I wired back the money as soon as I got home, but that is definitely going above and beyond. I'm still in shock. Thanks for a wonderful stay and thanks for helping me get home Philippe!!
Stayed two nights here. The room was very bright and quite spacious. Modern and clean although the bathroom was a bit cramped and shower arrangement not ideal. Very hot outside so pleased that the air conditioning worked! There is a strong South American theme that night not suit all. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Fresh orange juice scores high for me! And decent coffee! Restaurant menu definitely South American, looks interesting, and might be worth a try. However there are some very good restaurants within 5 minutes walk ( see reviews). Staff were very friendly.
Clean, great location, good bed, helpful staff. I usually have some kind of complaint but not here. I do love boutique hotels and if this was not one, it sure felt like it. The Marias district felt more like a neighborhood and is away from all the tourist areas but close enough to get there. The underground station is right outside the door.
It is my second time that I choose 1K Paris Hotel to spend my days in Paris. And it feels like home because the staff is so friendly and service so on point. The suite is a perfect so it's best choose if you decide to visit Paris to stay at 1K Hotel.
Great location in the Marais, accessible to most of the Paris sights on foot, if you like to walk. The guest room was elegant and comfortable (great shower). A definite downside was the breakfast. There were the same scrambled eggs (terrible looking so we didn't dare to eat) and sausages every day, a few bread choices, and some whole fruit. One day no one had set up breakfast until 9:30. The coffee machine was fine, but if you wanted coffee only, you had to get permission so as not to pay full price. It was expensive at 18 Euros. One day the elevator was not working, and the stairwell was quite dark, especially for 4 flights. Front desk staff were not all very friendly, though one was very kind. There is a nightclub on the premises, but we did not use it. I would stay again, but get breakfast elsewhere.
We usually stay up the road at the Crowne Plaza Republique but thought would give this a try. Room was booked for 1 as my company did the reservation. While the room was nice, quiet, lovely windows and view to the courtyard - there were actually 2 of us. Good thing we're a couple as it was quite small, and just a hallway to the bathroom with no door. There are larger rooms, so the moral is if you're more than 1 be sure to make that clear in advance. Bathroom was fine, but shower needs a curtain or glass please. Yes I know it 'ruins' the moderne chic, but it also keeps the water in the shower, my precious designers. Try stay in your rooms sometime and you'll figure this out! Breakfast was ok but also rather minimal. A cooked egg/omelette/etc. is included, but you have to find the elusive breakfast room attendant to order it. Didn't try the restaurant, but menu looked interesting.
