Our room on arrival was far to small a bed with just enough room to get around it. The bathroom had opaque windoes do you could see and hear the person in rhe shower and bathroom. The bed wad next to the batjroom door which did not give enough privacy.
Is the perfect combination of good price and good place! Good location, good staff, good rooms, everything is amazing in my opinion! Congrats for thi great hotel, I was traveling for many places in Europe and this is my favorite hotel.
Have used this Hotel a few times before and I have always had a great stay. Read a previous February review and was very concerned re the content. There was a slight smell in the room which reminded me of a washable bathroom paint. The staff are always helpful and I was shown a refurbished room on the 5th floor. Once the other rooms have been refurbished...this will be an even better Hotel than it is now. Great location for Latin Quarter and Transport links nearby. Great 2 night stay Tuesday 19th February.
I took it for the very convenient price, but don't fall for it! The room is very small and unclean. When you enter the room, you will find an unbearable moisture smell that does not go away even if you fully open the windows, and all the rooms have this problem. My bed sheets were unclean and there were hairs all over the room (even after cleaning). Also, the staff is rude and arrogant, you will get nothing out of discussing with them. I have stayed in this mess for ten days, I suggest you to avoid it!
Arrived with my partner for our dream New Year’s Eve break in Paris to find the hotel covered in scaffolding with a huge sheet covering the entire property. You could not see out of any windows! The hotel had also not advised us that they would be carrying out any work! We were shown to our room and the toilet had been used. It was absolutely tiny and nothing like the picture advertised. The supervisor had agreed for us to be refunded as we couldn’t stay there it was so bad. I call to arrange the refund with the manager and he rudely refused and even laughted at me! The managers name was Stephen! Absolutely discusting communication and management skills. I attach photos of the monstrosity!
My review will be based only on their reservation process. I booked one their rooms for March 2019. The total for that booking was more than 2000 euros which is a big budget already for me. I did follow all the steps for the booking on the website bookings.com. I had to give my credit card details but it was more as a caution than to debit it. What I did is providing the one i use in a daily life in my country. A week later after checking my emails i just noticed that the hotel cancel the booking. After sending a mail asking what can i do to re activate my booking and wondering why it was done like that, the only answer i got is "Your credit card was invalid. We are sorry we had to cancel your booking. We need a valid credit card for the guaranty."I still wonder why my credit card isnt valid in France when it is here in my country. What i blame is the lack of professional behavior this hotel had. They didnt offer me alternative, they didnt propose me to update it, they didnt offer any special rates to ensure I will book again or any complimentary amenities or whatever. I asked them how much would be the hold on the credit card to allow that amount with my bank, i still dont know how much they did tried to debit without notice. Needless to explain that in any case it wont be the credit card i wanted to use there, they are narrow minded. This manner is definitely not acceptable and i dont know if it is usual for them not try to help, but its a cold way to treat with guests. Working in travel industry, I know perfectly well that you need a guarantee, and the credit card provided is still working at the time I am writing this review. So what? Do you say I am a lier? And I know perfectly well that it is in their interests to be flexible with guests. I dont even try to book them again. I'm feel deeply insulted that this hotel implied and that I am just a random number.
Friendly and helpful staff in a great location. We booked very late so we paid more than we would like to have paid. The room was very small and could have used some repairs to the bathroom. I think that if you are a single traveler looking for a great location this would be a great hotel for you.
The hotel is ideally located. Near the metro, you can easily and quickly go anywhere. The hotel has a nice and clean room. the breakfast was tasty, plenty of choice. Nice view from the hotel room, on a typical French street.
Maxim Quartier Latin lies in the centre of Paris, very convenient to every other places and universities, many of which are in walking distance. Regarding the relative low price, it's a nice choice of hotel in Paris. The only problem is there are few furniture and little space except the bed in the room.
We love the location of this hotel, and enjoyed our stay overall, however our room had a wet carpet odour throughout our stay. We didn’t spend much time in the room, as we were only in Paris for the weekend and had jammed packed days, so we didn’t let it bother us too much. If the room didn’t smell we wouldn’t have had any issues - the room was small but I think that’s how it is in Paris and it was fine for 2 people.
