Excellent hotel. Great location, clean rooms, and friendly staff. I will definitely stay here next time I visit Paris. Make sure you know how to say your room number in French when you go to breakfast!
We stay here for 3 nights & actually I couldn't remind anything annoying nor bad about this hotel, may be WIFI could be better and only room were clean & maintained well breakfast well done check in was fast & staff is cute location also good enough for exploring northern part of Paris.
Our room was dated and wasn't spotless, for example there were hairs on the bathroom wall and bits of black stuff on the duvet. We asked for a quiet room and we were given one next to the lift which was quite Otherwise it was ok, the location was good.
Hotel Paris Bastille is nicely located in easy walking to everywhere Paris. Good relaxed buffet breakfast, very helpful concierge, small comfortable room. Mom liked to too! Bring your own shampoo, great for marathon watching.
thought the hotel is very cosy, one gets a feel that the stay is comfortable. only couple very helpful staff available irrespective of that its a good stay. location wise its good and there is a metro station in front of the hotel.
Location, location... The hotel itself is a good deal if one can get a discounted price. There is nothing wrong with the hotel but it is not the most attractive as its rooms are painted in a modern grey that is not my favorite. It exudes functionality more than anything else. The rooms are of very decent size for Paris standards. Bathroom is nice.
Staff - Our welcome to the hotel was not very warm, with the receptionist rushing through our check-in so that she could catch up with some friends who were waiting for her. The service and manner of the receptionists were quite inconsistent (some very friendly, others quite dismissive). Receptionists spoke very good English. The chef in the dining area, although didn’t speak the best English, was so entertaining and warming to the guests, I cannot fault him! Room - Stayed in a 4pax family room. The room wasn’t massive but the space was cosy enough for us and our luggage. The beds were very comfortable although the pillows were far too soft. The temperature of the room was very changeable with the heating/air con not being very efficient. Room is not well insulated and I could hear the elevator running inside the room, which can be disturbing late at night. General cleanliness of the room was very good when we arrived. However servicing of the room was very poor - the maid never cleaned or replaced the tea/coffee and only replaced the bin liners and towels. Toilet roll was not given and when I called the reception desk to get some sent to the room, he told me to go to the toilet in the dining room and take toilet rolls from there. Hotel - There is only 1 elevator, which is incredibly small and only fits 4 people at a time, therefore there was a fair bit of waiting around for it. The lobby was very sleek, intimate and lots of information available for tourists to take. Wifi worked very well in all areas of the hotel. Security - When you leave the hotel, you have to leave your room key at the reception. I queried this with the receptionist who said that it was a ‘fire safety’ precaution, which I appreciated. However when you return to the hotel, all you had to do was say your room number and they give your room key, no questions asked. I’m very weary that any person can just walk into this hotel, say a room number and can be given the key. Also, when we left our luggage with reception after check out, there were no measures to ensure that our bags were identifiable by us i.e. tags put on. Breakfast - An adequate continental breakfast was served and the standard you would expect from a 3* hotel. The scrambled eggs were too runny and the fruits were served straight out of a can. However, the pastries were delightful, sausages were juicy and there were plenty anti-pasti meats and cheese to choose from. Location is one of the biggest positives about this hotel. It is right next to Bastille Metro, with a direct link to Gare Du Nord. There are also a wealth of shops and restaurants around the area. Notre Dame is a 20-25 minute walk from the hotel. Overall, this is quite a compact and cosy hotel situated in a great location. Many things did let me down, so I can only recommend this hotel if you are staying for a very short trip in Paris. The cons outlined are amenable to change so hopefully the hotel can work on these improvements.
We chose this Hotel to make access to Gare de Lyon station easy next day with heavy back packs. It was easily accessed via Paris Metro from Gare du Nord to Bastille station, and close to walk to Notre Dame and beyond. A good safe hotel.
Loved it from the start, receptionist was fantastic, charming lady! Gave us maps and stuff because we were tourists from London hah ! Hotel was clean and easy to find, good location, really nice breakfast too. Just literally next to Bastille metro station ! Many restaurants and coffee shops around ! Really recommend!
Arriving at 0100 at night in -2C fog, we were warmly welcomed by the night staff (please give the guy with the piercings a badge! - thanks buddy) who quickly checked us in and shared enough useful information. The quad family room coped with the four of us and the complimentary tea and coffee was appreciated. Room was clean and serviced each day. Situated next to Bastille metro station (Rue de Lyon exit), it was a perfect base to explore the beautiful city with Notre Dame a brisk 15-20 minute walk away, and Gare D'Austerlitz 15 minutes (for your train to Versailles).
