Quite a unique motel, right on El Camino Real, but very quiet.it felt like a ‘tucked away’ property. I was pleasantly surprised. Staff were very helpful and kind. Room was clean and up to date. Would definitely stay here again.

Staff was friendly and efficient at check in and out. Room was basic, but clean and everything worked. Room was made up between nights. We did not eat the provided breakfast, but it looked fine. We were in Palo Alto for an all-weekend event, and just needed a place to lay our heads. Perfectly fine. We would stay another time.

The folks on the front desk were very accommodating. The handicap room and parking in front of it were very helpful for me.
I was a little worried after reading a bad review but I found this property safe, clean & staff were friendly. The property is just older with older decor & furniture, but overall for the price it worked out perfect.

This is our favorite hotel in Palo Alto. The garden rooms are particularly nice with a beautiful rock garden and greenery which makes you feel like you're in a garden oasis off the El Camino. Close to the hospital and shopping and Stanford University. Breakfast is also included. My son and I love it here!
This hotel rocks! They have a laundry room, fitness center, and the option of having maid service or not. The manager Jorge is kind and helpful and the staff are professional and friendly. We were here for my son's overnight hospital stay, which was stressful. Being at the Zen Hotel made it less stressful. It's also close by Stanford University, the Stanford Shopping Mall, and restaurants. I recommend booking the larger suites, if possible, for extra space and peaceful ambiance next to the rock garden.
