Magnuson Hotel Fowlerville

Football Weekend

I stayed here 2 nights, while attending the OSU v MSU game on Sept 29th. As such, I spent little time on the property. However, though it's an older motel, I found the rooms to be clean, comfortable, & up-to-date. The owners live on site, so the staff (mainly family) was very friendly & helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Residence Inn Lansing West

Comfortable, Clean, but not a stand out

My recent stay at the Residence Inn Lansing West was a leisure trip for Christmas shopping. The hotel was in a great location just down the street from Lansing Mall and other shopping centers. The room was clean (despite a couple of spiders in the bathroom) and comfortable. The staff was welcoming and accommodating my request for either a first floor room or a room near an elevator for my elderly mother who was traveling with me and can't walk long distances. We were placed in a room on the first floor. Breakfast offered a good variety. My pre-teen daughter was also traveling with me and looked forward to swimming in the pool. This is where we were greatly disappointed. The pool was very cold so we tried the hot tub which wasn't much warmer. The hot tub timer didn't work either. We sat in the hot tub for maybe 10 minutes and went back to our room. No one else was in the pool area for good reason. No signs were posted stating that the pool and/or hot tub heaters were out of order or that the hot tub timer didn't work. Overall, my stay met my needs, but was not one I would rave about.
