We were upstairs in one of the standard rooms, but we had a lovely view of the city. The bed was comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. The complementary breakfast was light, but all you need for a place like Oaxaca because the food is so good you need to leave room for lunch. We were sad to leave!

We stayed in a beautiful and clean room in a lovely hotel. Right from the start the staff were helpful, showing us some of the rooms before we booked, and advising us that the cheaper rate we saw online was better than we would get booking directly with the hotel. The hotel is located one block from the church, and you get some good views from the rooftop and balcony. They offered us a free glass of wine at night but sadly we already had too much. Highly recommend Palacio Borghese.

A great option! Although our stay was very brief we loved the service, the concierge - receptionist was incredibly attentive! He is one of the reasons we would come back to this lovely place! Our suite, Firenze was lovely, a little humid, but lovely decorated, with a little living area and dining room, the bathroom was extraordinary and the best part was an air conditioning that was glorious in the summer! Superb location! Really great also if you have a car as hey will take care of it!

This hotel and the service are great! My room was beautiful and the hotel itself is very quiet. The staff was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. The bed was so nice and comfortable. The bathroom was huge.

Behind a deep red stucco wall on a side street in Oaxaca, the Palacio Borghese is a boutique hotel treasure. Rooms, decorated with Mexican and Hispanic antiques, are around a bright atrium lobby, sitting area. Rooms are huge, high-ceilinged and squeaky clean with modern bathrooms. A delicious breakfast is served at tables around the atrium pool. The hotel is located within walking distance of the sites and fine restaurants of central Oaxaca. The only complaint is poor landline telephone service.

Had a wonderful time. The look of the hotel reminded us of our favorite hotel in Venice or our Riad in Marrakesh. Being in the design and renovation business ourselves, we were awe struck by added detail of the court yard. We noted that they had brought back a painter to change the accent colors of main niche holding a massive sculpture. Each bedrooms was carefully designed with it's own theme.( with the extra piece of furniture or artwork found in any Italian palazzo). The rooms were spacious beyond any one's expectations. We were surrounded by staff who had no intention of letting you not have the opportunity of seeing the best of Oaxaca. Or providing the best service within the hotel. i.e. fresh flowers provided in the room and bathroom. The fresh breakfast served every morning with organic jams and omelettes made by the chef wanted you to stay an extra day to see what was new. They arranged for us to have a private tour guide . Eugenio R.Cruz Castaneda gave us 3 full filling days of the local market, country side areas to see the weavers, a mescal distillery and tasting, a private tour of world renown wood carver,Isaias y Angelico Jimenez and the home /studio of Pantaleon Ruiz renowned for his weaving, bronze sculptures and his paintings. Eugenio's knowledge of Monte Alban was like following a professor of archeology. In closing, if you travel to Oaxaca and miss staying at Hotel Palacio Borghese you will have to return for a "second time" to enjoy the wonderful staff and this beautiful hotel.

We had a great experience with the property, room and staff. Great central location! Breakfast was a delight in presentation and just enough to send you on your way for the day. The room was comfy, nice size with great linens and amenities! Would definitely book here again.

We loved our stay at The Palacio Borghese! We booked the Florenzi Room, which was on the ground floor and did not face the street. The rooms are very spacious and clean, and this has been the most charming and attentive boutique hotel that I have stayed in. Philemon and Antonio who are at the reception were always around to greet us and answer any questions or have suggestions on what to visit. The room included continental b/fast which was served after 8 am. Fresh coffee, juice, fruit, toast and jam were included. They also had an a la carte menu for an extra charge. The hotel was very centrally located, right in the centro area near the Santo Domingo Cathedral. The staff loaned us an umbrella as it rained for a couple of hours, mainly early eve. Every time we came back after lunch, the staff would greet us with fresh juice. They have an awesome terrace on the top with lounge chairs and lovely views. Daily b/fast would be served out in the covered porch patio which was so well maintained. They also had a hair dryer in the room. I would highly recommend this lovely and charming hotel and will definitely be back for another stay. Thanks so much to the staff for making our stay so personal and exceptional!!

Sienna Room was marvelous! The service impeccable and sincere. Location Location Location, and did I mention the great location close to everything in the historical downtown area. The baked goods and breakfast fare were also excellent, a lovely continental breakfast of fresh fruit and juice, toast, coffee and something sweet as well. The bread pudding was fabulous! Menu orders were perfectly prepared and fare portions served with a genuine smile. The staff was informative, attentive, and helpful. We started our mornings on the roof terrace with breakfast. It was a great place to watch the city begins its day with bird songs, laughter and the people headed out to start their day. Thanks for a wonderful vacation and great birthday. We will recommend your hotel and hope to return. We really appreciated the help ordering flowers and the chocolate cake was yummy. With your help, my birthday was the best.

I visited the hotel with my wife at the end of a road trip around central Mexico. We had stayed in many places but this was the warmest welcome we had received. The hotel is centrally placed within easy walking distance of the main sights in Oaxaca and yet is on a quiet side road. Our car was valet parked for us. The building is an historical monument in its own right having been tastefully converted from part of the convent. Our room was modern and led on to a balcony area with a place to sit and a table. There is a plunge pool on the top floor but we didn't use it. The room was a good size, well equipped, clean and attractively decorated. Breakfast is served in the atrium, the old internal courtyard. Its a continental breakfast but very tasty and the coffee keeps on coming! I definitely recommend this hotel. It is good value and high quality.
