Nice rooms with all the ammenities. Had no issues and the staff was very nice to us.

An okay place to stay, not the best but not the worst.

This hotel is pretty much what you would expect for the star level. We slept well as the AC was good and the bed was comfortable enough. Pillows too small and breakfast was poor. Friendly reception staff.

Wasn't real sure about the place when we showed up. The outside looked like a little hole in the wall hotel. However, it seemed to be run by a small family operation and the inside was great. Staff was excellent and the room was nice with a great bed, new flooring and paint. The place was clean and provided internet, parking and breakfast for free. Will definitely stay there again when visiting m daughter!

Clean and comfortable. Has a fridge and microwave, and there is Trader Joe's 1 block away. Walls are thin, but I was lucky to have respectful neighbors.

Given the market in Berkeley, this hotel provides good service, nice accommodation, and a good location at the median price for a mid-grade hotel. It is noticeably better than some similarly priced hotels nearby.

I picked this place because it was walking distance to my cousin's house but will never again stay here. The toilet was broken, the bed creaked every time I turned, the pillows were midget sized and my towel was completely shredded. It's obvious that every possible corner is cut in order to save money. I think the towel was the deal breaker for me because you can replace a towel for under $5 and the one in my room should have been trashed and replaced a long time ago. It was almost insulting that they would fold that up and leave it for a guest to use. Lastly, the walls are ridiculously thin! I could hear every word of conversations going on outside our room and could not sleep due to the constant knocking on the door of the room next to ours throughout the night.

It was very shabby. Not really worth staying there unless really, really desperate.

We booked this hotel because it's located relatively close to BART and the UC Berkeley campus, but that is where the advantages of this property end. The problems started before we even got into the room. The key card system on our room seemed to be having problems, and it took us multiple tries to get the cards to work. This problem persisted even after having the keys remagnetized. When we got in the room we noticed a bit of a musty smell, which we later traced to the mini fridge, which wasn't actually keeping anything cold. The room itself was relatively standard and comfortable, but there were some strange features like odd light switches and occupancy sensors, and the tv system was not very user friendly. The shower was good, which is very important to me, but when I got out, I found the towels were threadbare and fraying in spots. Even little things were problematic: one of the hangers in the closet didn't actually fit on the closet bar, and the handle on one of the nightstands was broken. All in all, it seems like the staff puts very little effort into maintaining this property. Avoid this hotel if you can.

There are a few 2-star hotels on University Ave. at Berkeley most of which I stayed at. Quality Inn is among the better ones: the breakfast although nothing special is better than others. Staff availability is better. Location is pretty good. However, it usually is more expensive than the competition.

First room we were given had an awful musty smell. We thought it was just the ocean moistness causing this. We changed rooms the next night. This room smelled better though still slightly like the other room. Beds were comfortable. Rooms are quiet. Staff is friendly.

Nice place. Clean. Comfortable. Friendly staff. Would stay again

Location was great...other than that, hard to find a parking spot...small room...power outlets not working, bathroom was clean and up to date, morning breakfast was under the expectations..."not enough milk for kids", had to wait 25 min to bring some more !!!...very poor choices...overall a high priced motel that did not delivered.

staff is good. have clock sound in room, kind of annoying

The Hotel is a short walk to lots of great places to eat. The hotel is nothing special but comforable.

Off street parking is something that even the more elegant hotels in the area don't have. Close enough to downtown to walk to restaurants and stores, yet quick access to freeway down University Ave. Room a little small but comfortable. Don't care for cumbersome Dish, but really shouldn't watch much TV anyway. Having a bathtub is great as most of these less expensive rooms I use don't have them. Small number of rooms make for a cozier feel to the property. Staff were pleasant and attentive. When you just need a place to overnight for business it's a good deal and way better than one notch down in cost.

Hotel stay was OK. Staff wasn't very friendly, room cleanliness was sub part. I won't be staying here again.

In October 2013, I spent 4 nights at this Quality Inn. The Hotel is located approximately 10-15 minutes from the downtown Berkeley area, which is quite a walk. The room itself is small. The sink in in the main room, not the bathroom. There was a little problem with the hot water, but the staff fixed it quickly. The staff offered new towels and 2 water bottles each morning. However, the staff couldn't provide me with any in depth information regarding public transportation options. There was a pending BART strike which would have paralyzed the rail system, but the staff, who presumably lived and worked there, had no information regarding this critical problem. They provide a continental breakfast, but the dry rolls and other baked goods were not appealing. There was coffee, though. My biggest qualm would be the discrepancy between the price paid and the quality of the room. While the staff was pleasant and helpful, the distance the hotel was from the main part of town, coupled with the size of the room, leads to the conclusion that the rooms are overpriced for what you are getting.

We have arrived late night almost like midnight. The place was pretty quiet and enought for the one night.

Staff receptionist was less than courteous when asked for help.
