Quirky, definitely Berkeley. Thin walls. Room smelled of fresh bread in the morning from bakery below.

The location was good. No ice machine and only one elevator

Elevators took forever and the hot water pulsed in and out

Really uncomfortable bed. Shower head was really low (maybe 5’6”) and water temp was very irregular. Location is great for UCB, and avacado toast was tasty. My wife had a glass of wine and said it wasn’t good fwiw.

Location near campus was very walkable. Restaurant & bar had limited & unpredictable hours. Breakfast menu limited. Great bartender on Friday night.

Nice small boutique hotel walking distance from campus.

The hotel is older, walls were thin. The staff, were great! Good location to where I needed to be and no issues. I would stay there again.

great overall. Love the environment and the decor. Defintely recommended

I had leave the hotel because hotel restaurant turned on the music so loud my heart was beating, I'm on room number 208 right above the restaurant. I was complaining the hotel staffs said so sorry nothing we can do, that reason why I had to leave the holtel. I told them I will the police the hotel staff said please do not call the police. I checked out the hotel last night and asked the hotel i want my money back.

The rooms are small (it's an old building), but they're clean and very pretty. Staff is super helpful. Location is awesome, it's a short walk to Telegraph and a longer but doable walk down to Shattuck, so it's a convenient location if you want to be in that general area.

Stayed 3 Days - very enjoyable. Breakfast menu limited. Hotel decor ok. Liked the area and proximity to family. Hotel parking very expensive, but also very convenient. Would consider staying here again

Great hotel. Cool decor and staff that's quite accommodating. We highly recommend it.

Everything was convenient. Shower didn’t have hot water though..

This was the perfect hotel for a Berkeley tour. It was so close to campus and could hold our bags till we were all done with the tour. Plus it is full of character. Loved it!

The staff were friendly. The hotel was kitschy cute. It is in a very old building and we could hear the people above us and to the sides of us....moving furniture, snoring, tv, talking, etc. When you are in the bathroom, you can clearly hear conversations from adjacent rooms through the vent. We couldn't get our TV to get reception so we called the front desk. They sent maintenance who couldn't get it to work either. They brought a new TV that also didn't get reception. The maintenance guy was like "Sorry, I tried" and basically gave up. We never heard another word about it and weren't offered anything to compensate for being without a TV. The noise factor alone was enough for me not to stay at the hotel again. It was really difficult to sleep.

The staff is always cheerful and helpful whenever we've stayed here. The hotel is right off Telegraph and a short walk from Shattuck, where there are tons of wonderful stores and restaurants. It's also right on the edge of the university, so if you've got business there, it's the perfect place to stay. Smallish rooms in an older building but very well-maintained and clean, and best of all, whatever detergent they use on the sheets, it has no obnoxious perfumey scent (like so many hotels have) and does not give me an allergic reaction.

My daughter and I stayed here, and it was great for us. The rooms are a little small, but clean and comfortable overall. You can't beat the location if you need to be near campus. Staff is excellent. See below for some minor complaints that could be improved.

We appreciate the feedback. Having Tartine onsite has it's bonuses, the smell of fresh croissants being one of them! Don't be a stranger, come back soon.
