Overall a very good stay, within easy walk of city attractions. Staff very friendly and helpful, Room & bathroom clean and tidy. Food in hotel bar was very good but beer selection was not appropriate in an area noted for excellent breweries. Not a good hotel for car drivers, the underground parking ...
The hotel is in a lovely location. Pleasant lobby with lounging area. "Light snacks" make for more affordable eating than their regular hotel fare. Not enough water to run a tub for a bath. Disappointing after hours of toting bags, trains, and walking. Much of the clientele was older - 50s, 60s, 70s. Beautiful walk down the slope to the beach just outside the hotel's front door.
We made an error in our reservation: June arrival versus July arrival. Somewhere between Orbitz and the hotel, they charged us an additional $100+ to make the change. Even though the room was prepared and they had space at the hotel. The hotel blamed Orbitz and Orbitz blamed the hotel.
The hotel is directly off of the highway so it is easily accessible. It is located at a truck stop/eatery so their is a lot of people which may cause you to park a little further from the hotel but not too far that you will complain. There is a grocery store, Burger King and a couple of other Bistro's so food is always available. The hotel accepts pets, I was unaware, and since I am allergic to animals they switched me to an area of the hotel that did not have pets. It is clean and the staff are very helpful. My only complaint, the hotel lacks AC and the hallways and stairwell are very hot. They provided a very small fan for the room which does not help during the day but kept us comfortable at night. Shower does not have a door that closes which is awkward at first but you get used to it. Worth the price, great value for your money
I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights as I was attending a conference. The staff very extremely helpful in pointing out directions, taking special requests for an iron/ironing board etc. They were also very nice when I locked myself out accidentally! They serve a nice scottish and continental breakfast. The gym is okay, but functional for basic purposes. Overall, it is a good value and is located within 10 minutes walking distance to many hotels.
