We used their public parking, because this spot is conveniently located. However, right after paying $20 for the daily fee (no re-entering allowed), I found out that 15 steps away, just across the street it's only $15.00 for the same kind of parking. So save yourself some bucks by parking across the street at the next parking lot. You won't have to walk much more.
The hotel needs a remodel. It is not been updated since it was built room smell like mothballs, beds are uncomfortable no breakfast. Internet is terrible. only person I'd recommend this too is someone going for a boxer party or bachelor party. always a great stay at the thriflodge, staff are excellent, location great, entertainment isalways a pleasure
close to everything right across from Tim Hortons falls just down end of street. Entertainment district karaoke in the parking lot lots of parking. Nice sweet smells wafting from fudge factory across street Wendy's is across the street. Plenty of shopping on street
I have been staying at this location for a few years now, and am disappointed that the amount of money they charge to stay here is not being used for renovations. The rooms are still severely outdated, especially the bathrooms and poorly maintained (towel bar fell off wall, toilet didn't work properly we had to remove the lid and pull the chain to get it to flush at times, bathtub tap handle stiff and had to use a washcloth to turn it), colour of bathroom ancient yellow, bathtub old and outdated. I understand it is party central here, and with that being said, the karaoke bar can be loud at most times, however the sound of a/c in the room does help mask some of the noise. The best part is being able to sit on the balcony and watch all of the activity in this area (drunk people, bar fights). After numerous times here, all I can say is you are paying for location. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, if you want more towels or anything, they have no problem assisting you. I was disappointed that our room was not cleaned or the beds made when we were out for the day. This is a "motel style" accommodation and if you are looking for a tower like hotel, or one with corridors this is not the place to stay. Access to a pool is available at the nearby Travelodge, which I would recommend for families with younger children and for those looking for a more quiet visit. We will stay here again if we go with friends, as it is a good party location, however I will not bring my teens (and DO NOT recommend it for children) again, next time we will stay at the nearby Travelodge. Prices holiday weekends: Fridays 199.00 and up, Saturdays 299.00 and up.
My room was fine but my friends room smelled really bad and they couldn't stay there. They ended up checking out. The hotel was great to deal with though so my friends appreciated that. It could have been worse, but it all worked out.
You should know that you have to sign a release form to stay here because there is loud music and yelling in the parking lot in front of your room every night from the karaoke bar in the parking lot. Yes I signed the waver, only because we booked a room at the Travelodge a couple of lots down. When we arrived at Travelodge we were told we were booked at the Thriftlodge their sister property through a bait and switch which was booked through Amomo ! I had a confirmed reservation #bpnqn3ga48l5 for the Travelodge I thought I had a good deal till it was switched to Thriftlodge with out any notice to me. We stayed the one night, and I booked a room at another location and moved the next day. Travelodge would not work with our booking Company to make it right !!! Amomo did refund our money for the next two nights we had booked. I thank them. I will never stay at a Travelodge again after how we were treated THE THRIFT LODGE IS A RUN DOWN HOTEL IN A GOOD LOCATION ? THE CARPET WAS WORN AND BATHROOM HAD TILES MISSING !! WHAT I SAW OF THE PLACE IT IS WORN OUT NEEDS MAJOR REHAB IF YOUR EXPECTATIONS ARE LOW STAY HERE ? THIS IS MY OPIONION ,
our room was amazing,we will request the same room again if its available,we always go up to Niagara falls every year, never once was a room this nice/clean it even smelled clean and fresh, the bed was the best we have ever been on, very comfortable, the hotel, close to everything and a quick back to the hotel for a nap
It is easy to get into the different attractions, but you have to pay for parking, which is fine. I booked two rooms, in one of the rooms the shower was not working. Wifi speed was decent, the A/C was working well.
We started our weekend in Niagra on a rough note at this hotel. We booked on their own website a room that they had posted with 3 King size beds. I even confirmed the night before that this room was ready. When we arrived we were told that there was no room such as this and we ended up staying in a room with 2 queen and a double bed. This made for cramped quaters. The next day I received dirty looks when they asked if we needed anything for our room and I asked the maid to make the beds. We were not happy with our stay here.
