We loved this hotel. The position is perfect, far from the noise of the main road but close to walk there. The staff is really nice and helpful and we really liked to be able to use the gym, swimming pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast is quite good, you can prepare your own waffle, yummy!! And they offer free tea and coffee at the reception and a microwave to heat your food if you wish! We really liked the service and the quality/price is really good. We will come back!!
This hotel was a great place and the price was just right. We stayed there for our anniversary. Everyone was pleasant, warm and friendly. The hotel is so close to everything that we parked the car and walked everywhere, we never moved the car until it was time to come home. The coffee was always fresh and very good. We had a nice hot breakfast every morning. Hooters is adjacent to the hotel but it did not bother us since we were in Room 109 and it was not near it. We walked to the Falls, did some sightseeing and ate every chance we got. Where people see old in the hotel we see charm. The bed was very comfortable, the hot tub was relaxing and the sauna was excellent. Yes I said sauna, not many mid-$$ hotels have an actual sauna
We had a one night stay over at this Hotel as we had to visit the Niagara Falls, ON side. The positive about this place is the LOCATION. It is only about 15 walking distance from the Falls area, in particular from where you would board the Hornblower Boats. Since this Hotel is on a hill it is easier to walk down to the Falls area however the downside is that while returning to it, you have to climb uphill. We were given the ‘Exterior Corridor Room’ which is what we had in our booking through Groupons. The sad part was that there was construction going on the street where this Hotel is located and we had to maneuver around streets/neighboring parking lots to reach the place. When we went for check in we were told that we will have to pay CAD 15 + Tax for parking. Somehow I had thought parking was included in the Groupon. Since I did not remember the exact thing I did not argue about this charge at that time. We had passes to the WEGO buses available to local commute but due to the construction we had to walk down to the Falls or we could have used the WEGO service to reach the Falls area. The room having 2 Queen Beds was decent size. We had a Refrigerator, Coffee Machine, Iron + Board. However there was no Microwave in the allotted Room. The Room and the bathroom itself was relative clean but definitely outdated and needed few repairs. Since we got the first floor room, I saw the curtains were not working right, and the shade in the window had some tears which affected the privacy of the room. Secondly out the bathroom there was a wooden panel which was falling off, behind this was the piping to the bath tub. Breakfast which was included in our price, was meagre, most surprisingly without Bagels & Cream Cheese. The lady managing the breakfast did a good job to ensure the items were being replenished in a timely manner. The Room where this was set up was small, hardly holding a capacity of not more than 40-50 chairs. My son who came to breakfast at the closing time of 10 am had to deal with a huge crowd. I don’t blame the Management for the crowd though. The worst part which I want to part to the readers is that I feel there is something UNETHICAL about this place in terms of charges. When I was checking out the lady at the checkout told me that the parking charges of CAD 15 + Tax amounted to CAD 23.39. They said their printer was not working and they could only email me the Folio, which I could see within 10-15 minutes later in my email. At that moment it did not strike me that the taxes which was being levied was about 55%. However I did come back to the Front Desk a few minutes later to find out the breakdown of this charge and overheard the Lady telling another guest that she will be waiving the some Tourism Charges of CAD 5.99. I asked her to explain the breakdown for my charges and she said that the charges included CAD 5.99 which she can waive ‘ON REQUEST’. This is the first time I have across such an explanation by a Hotel employee. I honestly feel this is UNETHICAL. I also feel the printer not working is an excuse as any guest is generally in a hurry to check out and leave the Hotel. Many do not have the time to check on the email immediately to see the breakdown of charges. I also checked my Credit Card statement today and found that they have charged me USD 40.16 and reversed the same – this is in the pending section. There after I see a charge of USD 18.79 which is pending as yet. I think CAD 15 + Tax should not amount to more than USD 14-15. I am going to wait to see when these charges settle on my credit card and then take the decision of disputing the same. On the whole it was an AVERAGE experience and I would strongly suggest travelers to be careful when dealing with this Hotel.
I was here with my son and his family. The hotel staff was awesome and the bed was comfortable. It was in walking distance to were we wanted to go. There was this hole in the wall pizza place (I don't remember the name) not far from the hotel was so good.
This came recommended by Canadian friends who visit regularly. Had the most delicious cookies in reception(apart from the chocolate ones) . Room very comfortable but would have benefited from a safe in the room instead of a microwave.Plenty of room in the car park which you have to pay for and about 5 mins walk to the falls
My wife and I booked our room two days prior to our visit to the falls. Once we arrived the front desk staff were very friendly and informed us that our room wasn't quite ready and to come back around three, which was fine so we went for lunch. Upon our return we were issued keys to our room and away we went, only to find this wasn't the room we had booked and paid for. So we went back to the front desk where it was extremely busy now with everyone checking in and we were told we would have to wait which was totally understandable, so then our concern was addressed and we were told the room in which we booked with the spa and king bed was was now unavailable because they were sold out however they did have a room in a smaller building with a king bed but no spa. So we ventured across the parking lot to another building and proceeded to this 'room ' only to find peeling wallpaper a cracked bathtub mold on the pillows and very dangerous electrical coverplates broken. When we asked for a manager we were told there isn't one available? On a busy weekend in the falls and a manager isn't on duty? Needless to say we won't return to this establishment. Thankfully we were able to find alternate lodging with everything we wanted in a room down the street.
Pros: close to Clifton Hill (within walking distance), very helpful and kind staff, cute welcome bag, free parking. Cons: no bathtub and shower was weak, paint falling off bathroom door, no garbage bin in the bathroom, remote was missing the back to it.
Opted to stay here because of some of other reviews on the larger hotels. It is an older hotel. Our room had a nice view of the falls from the balcony. We also had a great jacuzzi tub in our room. Parking on site was free. Once we parked we never moved our car. Everything we did was in walking distance. Breakfast was good with many options. The only negative thing I can say is that mattresses need updating. That would be my only complaint.
The noise from the exhaust fan in the bathroom was deafening. Shower pressure was minimal. Hot tub sucked. Don't stay here, unless you're into finding semen in your sheets and hearing hip hop music blaring from the street all night.
We stayed at the Quality Inn the first night we arrived in Niagara Falls as our other reserved hotel fell through. I have to say I was so grateful that they had a room available as I thought we were going to have to sleep in our car that night. Staff were so helpful. I'm so grateful for their kindness and assistance. The location of the hotel was great. Pretty much a moment's walk from "the action". The water pressure in the shower was good too. The sink and vanity were clearly new and nice also. From there I have to say some negatives. The curtains were falling down, so literally anyone walking by could see through a part of the window we couldn't completely cover. The room wasn't the cleanest, there was hair on the bathroom floor, behind the door, on the wall and on the side of the shower. The carpet was just generally dirty and in need of a deep clean, if not completely ripped out. All the tv channels were grainy, clearly we weren't there to watch tv but I like it on for the noise at night. All in all, I'm grateful we had a place for the night but it wasn't the hotel I would have usually picked.
