I got 2 rooms based off the higher cleaning rate listed. One room had a old fuzzy tv. Holes in wall. Dried blood on comforter and dust everywhere. The other room had a broken shower, a huge cockroach on the wall and an half done outlet on the wall. Pretty sure it was a fire hazard. Going up to the rooms the stair railing was black like it hadn’t been wiped down. Pictures in hallway caked with dust. Black scuff marks on outsides of doors. When I went to complain the guy just said eww and then acted like he didn’t understand us. NEVER again. I have lots of pictures if any wants to see.

The host was friendly but that’s about the only good thing I can say about this place. The advertisement showed a beautiful outdoor pool yet on site it was a disgusting green color with creatures living in the water; obviously the pool was closed. Our room was disgusting, the sheets were clean, but there was old food in the microwave, the bathroom had used travel bottles of shampoo, soap, lotion and conditioner. The lock was faulty on the door and overall we were nervous staying there. Orbitz should not sponsor or participate in advertising for this hotel! We only stayed because literally everything else around was booked and we had weekend plans for Busch Gardens, we not ever stay there again and will make sure to tell friends!

The whole property smelled bad. 3 different kind of smell, none of them pleasant. The freezer was full of food, left there by the previous guest. (some could count this as a positive) The AC was left running on super cold, so when we turned the heat on, smoke and dust blew into the room. On the positive side, we could open the window so we didn't suffocate. There was no breakfast as promised and the stuff didn't know where to get coffee nearby, although there is a 7/11 a block away. 1/10 would not recommend. But hey this was the cheapest motel nearby, so that is a plus too.

price was ok. could not find ice, dirty carpet ,raccoon running around.

Horrible disgusting place. Spiders were crawling on the bed, there were no shower curtains in the bathroom. The room wreaked of cigarettes, there were stains in the carpet. The beds were disheveled, the toiletries were half empty and used. There were no elevators after I was told they were over in the next building behind the front desk. The hallways were dirty and the emergency exit had duct tape in place of the doorknobs. Whoever gave this hole in the wall 4/5 stars lied! This place was horrible and the fact that the staff didn’t apologize. I was unable to get my refund. I will never stay here and immediately checked out upon arrival. I will never recommend anyone to stay at this dusty, crappy and unsanitary motel.

The Mulberry Inn was all around dirty. The smell of marijuana was overwhelming on the second floor and the two rooms I saw first hand had dismantled and missing smoke detectors. If you are visiting the gentleman's club within walking distance...this is the place for you. If you are coming from out of state to visit your loved ones stationed at the Army base next door...stay somewhere else.

I didn’t get da the I book for that weekend wanted a smoking room & I got a non smoking room

It was good thanks, I’m not sure why you want be to say more on this question

We found this hotel after staying one night at another local hotel that was disgusting. Mulberry Inn was wonderful. The outside and halls need some updating, but the rooms seem updated and were very clean. During the day, all I saw were people cleaning the property. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. They offer free breakfast that was more than adequate. If ever I'm back in Newport-News I will stay at the Mulberry Inn.

Property could use some upgrades. Out if style and date

I would recommend this hotel friendly staff and nice rooms

Staff friendly and clean property and room. Easy access and ckeckout. For one night stay I was pleased.

Good place to stay always happy with my stay......

The staff is very friendly, the room needed a bit extra cleaning especially behind the beds as my wife spotted a sock? The bed was comfortable and the breakfast next morning was very good. This hotel needs the stair carpeting renewed as it is worn, and it would otherwise get better ratings as overall it looks nice. David.

Rooms clean. Staff very courteous, friendly & helpful. Breakfast not bad. One downer noisy fan in room

Great hotel within easy range of the Newport News airport and other areas in the region. Better than Holiday Inn! Room was clean and today and everything worked very well. A/C was nice ad cold. This is the hotel you need to stay at in when you visit Williamsburg/Newport News.
