Property was very outdated but for the price I’m not complaining
Management issues
The motel was a little older but in fair condition. That said, there was no hot water, the shower water was only room temperature. And the hallways reeked of pot and cigarette smoke.
The property is in dire need of an upgrade. I know it is a budget hotel but it is falling apart, based on my room. The best thing in the breakfast area was the coffee machine.
Let me start by saying OMG. I booked based on the affiliation to Wyndham...My mistake. This property was small and dirty. We checked in and found the clerk to be less than helpful. Then we saw the hallway and elevator. There was trash on the elevator that remained until the next morning. The third floor smelled like marijuana. The room was far from clean and caution was taken when pulling back the sheets. We were supposed to stay for four nights, but after one night we decided it was no place to bring our grandson. We left after one night without a concern for a refund. That was the one bright spot. When we told the day clerk that we could not bring our grandson there she offered to refund the remaining nights. I have never bugged out of a hotel until I stayed at Microtel Newport-News.
It was great Happy to had pick the this place .....................
It was not like any other microtels that i have stayed at. This one was very disappointing. The staff was friendly and helped with every request i had
The floor was wet when we got there and had a funny smell.
I would like a refund i never stayed i tried to cancel the booking.
Great price, friendly staff. The place was a little run down though, but great location
Place was clean but they never got room phone to work so I could get wake-up call and the shower water wouldn't get hot just barely warm enough to get in it and was still coolish
I liked the location. Its close to the airport and highway. I did not like the cleanliness of the hotel. The blanket was dirty when I checked into the room. The staff was very rude when I reported problems with the room.
Decent enough for a one night stay but not much more. Staff friendly and very helpful. Bed not the greatest. Desk chair not comfortable. Suspicious activity in room next door about every four hours - loud, violent conversations apparently on phone then the guy would leave. Four hours later back again, repeat cycle. Seemed drug and/or gang related.
I do not recommend Microtel hotel to anyone the breakfast was lousy the beds uncomfortable the tub was dirty the carpet funky and the smell of mold in the hotel. One of my guest went across the street to best western and stay the rest of the night or weekend because the hotel was awful
Barely acceptable. A little musty. The minimum above unacceptable. No bugs.
