We have stopped here on numerous occasions. Over past few years renovations have taken place. Rooms are nice, furnishing are great. I have never had any issues. Be aware there is hard water and it is slightly dis colored. There is no breakfast to speak of but price is good for amenities offered. I will continue to stay here when heading down to NOLA
Okay, I stayed here and would probably do so again in a pinch. It is $50 a night and you get what you pay for. The staff is great, the rooms are clean. It is really convenient to the interstate. But would I let my mother stay here, no. Lots of transients, some rougher crowd and management just deals with them. LOTS of people smoking everywhere and the smoke just gets sucked into your room. I had the JOY of having a questionable woman traveling (or just living there) who believed her 80 pound pit mix should be able to roam free. Sorry, but an intact male pit bull (she corrected me several times that he was an American Staffordshire Terrier - still a pit mix) that was off leash wandering the grounds was safe. She tried to get him back to her room but he just ignored her. A child/dog attack in the making. Reported to staff but no one really did anything. Interesting place. But it is just $50 a night.
Please do not let the price scare you away! Only 25min drive to NOLA, a big variety of food only minutes away. Friendly people, clean rooms. Stayed there for 4 nights. Grocery store a short 2 min walk from room.
Like another reviewer said, I was a little skeptical with how much I paid, but I was surprised! The area is a little noisy but other than that the room was great. Plus, pets are welcome, which is a huge plus for us dog lovers!
Was only a one night stay but... I was a little skeptical with only paying $65.00 and next to a truck stop but like the old saying goes never judge a book by its cover. Seems this property has been updated recently. The beds were very nice , wood/tile floors and the shower had a nice big shower head. Overall very clean room and friendly staff. We also found a restraunt across the street called "new orleans" ... just go there you will thank me later.
First the good. The bed was clean and comfortable. The shower was clean. Now, the not so good. When I first entered the room, I noticed the light on the phone was blinking. I called the front desk to see if there was a message or a problem. I was informed the light was blinking in error and she would turn it off immediately. The light continued to blink. I finally put a hand towel of the phone. I light above the bed would strobe when turned on. The blinking light on the phone and the light strobing above the bed were annoying. The brown vinyl floor appeared to be clean. I took a shower and putting on clean white socks. After walking around in the room for a few minutes, I noticed the bottoms of my socks had turned a dark brown. There was a lot of road noise. The rating would have been better with little cleaning. I am hoping the malfuncioning lights on the phone and above the bed were a fluke.
Awesome place, great staff, very friendly!! We stay here fairly often it’s peaceful since they removed the bar and renovated!! We haven’t had anything to complain about.... They have a truck stop next door can park with ease!!
This exit is a construction nightmare. The hotel driveway was hard to find. There is a Travel America right next door and we heard truck noise all night long. It even drowned out the noisy air conditioner. There were no bath towels, only hand towels. We had to call the front desk for some and they brought some right to us. The floor was so dirty that we had to wash our feet after walking to the bed before we could put our shoes on. There is a restaurant withing walking distance that had good pulled pork. I would not stay here again.
Good location and easy access to drive into New Orleans and convenient access to my family members in Slidell. I was very impressed with my renovated room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. The room was clean and comfortable. My friend and I were traveling by car from Wisconsin and the room prices were within our budget. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Would definitely stay there again.
I stayed one evening at this property a few days ago. It was perfect for the money that I paid for it. All of the rooms have been renovated and upgraded and the room that I was in had a refrigerator and a microwave and was very super clean. The bed was comfortable, the shower was nice, the Wi-Fi worked well and the TV was not bad. It's very convenient to the interstates and they give CDL holders a discount. There is big truck parking on the property. Thanks for a decent nights sleep, Red Roof Slidell!
