My wife and I were very pleased with the hotels location. It is in a part of the city that we were not familiar with and found it enjoyable. The cleanliness of the hotel is very important to us and the The Blake met our expectations.
Staff was great. Unfortunately, our room had not been cleaned for 2 days. We called the fromt desk, they quickly sent someone up and informed us about the staffing problem. Great thanks to the front desk!
They were great helped us make reservations and sent us in the right directions a lot!! Great Place will stay there on our next trip as well
Friendly, helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay and will likely stay again!
Good Hotel, friendly staff. Good adjacent restaurant. They need to replace the sink in the bathroom, it is old and looks dirty. Otherwise, it is a charming hotel ; not very far from the french quarter and good restaurants around; away from the noise and drunk people of Bourbon Street .
I enjoyed my stay there with my friends for the race . I especially enjoyed the hospitality at the restaurant and the food!
Okay hotel for price. Neighboring hotels were about $40 more per night with significantly better quality, but would stay here again when on budget.
The staff was wonderful every time we interacted with them. Unfortunately, the room had some odd idiosyncrasies. For one, the bathroom would basically flood every time we took a shower. The water would just run out onto the floor. Secondly, the thermostat. At one point our room got chilly, so we turned the air off. When we tried to turn it back on, we had to call the front desk because the room wasn't cooling down. The maintenance man told us that the only way to change the temp was to do it manually, and to call him again if we wanted to adjust the air. It was a nice offer, but we just left it. The hotel location was good (near the French Quarter, but not rowdy), and the staff was always helpful/polite, but I can't give a rating higher than three because of the room.
We booked the Blake Hotel after our plane was cancelled due to a snowstorm and we couldn't have been more displeased by our choice. After a few wonderful days staying at another Hotel in New Orleans, the Blake Hotel felt only slightly better than being trapped in Terminal C of the Charlotte Airport for two days, which was our other option. With it's Bank of America waiting room esthetic, the Blake Hotel has somehow created a microcosm of corporate tedium in what is otherwise a unique and culturally rich city. Moreover, their cheap veneer of luxury is falling apart--headboards on beds are loose and threatening to fall over in the night, and we had to move rooms at 1am when temperatures in our first room fell to below 55 and wouldn't change. I guess if you're a white bread republican than by all means stay here, you'll love it! But if you have any soul to your humanity this place will suck it dry with it's unimaginative corporate environment. You're in New Orleans--stay somewhere else. Two stars for the wonderful late night staff who were the only saving grace to this place.
Rooms were ok. Beds quite comfortable. Not much for any views. Great Staff.
flushing of toilets from upper floors can be heard and louder than should be. one of the elevators were out of order a couple of times which was inconvenient. room is great so is the service !
Super nice staff, let me check in extremely early and I had one person reach out every single day of my stay to make sure everything was great. Clean, comfy room, good location, and great prices.
The Blake is a posh hotel within walking distance of most attractions in New Orleans. Right on St. Charles, access to the street car, the French Quarter, the Garden District and convention center is easy. Staff is kind, efficient and very knowledgeable. Our room was lovely, lots of light, beautifully appointed. Only negative was low water pressure in the shower.
Compared to other reasonably priced hotels in the area, I feel that their 3.8 rating is too low. We encountered 1 problem with the bathroom but maintenance was right on it. The facility was very nice. The only reason I didn't give an overall 5 rating was because of the incident. If it would allow me, I would give a 4.7. We would definitely use this hotel again!
Can't see out the windows. Some sort of plastic covering.
1st room we had wasn't clean so they changed us to another one and that was ok. The valet situation was not great. Someone left their cup in our car and looked like they took it around the block. The hotel front area floods when it rains so I had to crawl over driver seat. Getting car took 45 min when we were trying to leave. There are so many other hotels to choose from in NOLA so I will not be back here.
The hotel is in a great location. Only problem is that there is no parking on site. Very good valet parking though.
The Location of this hotel was great! We were off St.Charles street where all the parades came through. 10 to 15 minute walk to Bourbon St. We were even allowed to get on the hotel balcony and view the parades and catch all the beads during Mardi Gras Weekend. The only thing I did not like was the hotel service. Our room was not the right room for the first night and we had to argue with the night staff to get our room changed for the rest of the time we were there. The room we moved in to after the fact smelled like vomit and the sheets and towels had stains on them. The only reason we did not change hotels was because we where barely there.
first room assigned left a lot to be desired. musty odor and the feeling that when i book onlini get a not great room unless i complain.
We enjoyed our stay except for parking and the elevators were very slow
