Blake Hotel New Orleans, BW Premier Collection

3.5 out of 5.0

It was very enjoyable. The staff was very accommodating.

A/c out in room. Moved to a room which was occupied. Moved again to a room where the a/c worked “well enough”. Not good for a hotel..who’s job it is to house guests comfortably. Definitely not good for a hotel in mew orleans which thrives of the hospitality industry and has countless other options

My husband and I were going to a concert at Champions Square and needed a hotel within walking distance. The Blake is on the corner of St. Charles and Pordras, about 5 blocks from Champions Square and the Superdome. We got up early the next morning, walked (about 8 blocks) to get beignets and rode the street car after (there's a stop a half a block away). It was great! The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean! Throughout our stay I received text messages from the staff checking on everything to make sure it was acceptable. We will definitely stay here again!

Checking in, was told I'd reserved two rooms, not one, so I spent first half hour there on phone with Orbitz, who assured me I'd reserved only one. Room temperature upon arrival was 75, though thermostat was set on 70. An hour later, when room temp was 76, I called front desk only to be hung up on twice. Staff came to room, said yes, a.c. was broken, but there were no other rooms available -- not even the other one they thought I'd reserved -- so we couldn't change rooms, even though other guests were checking in even as they told me that. TV wouldn't work. Room temp. was 80 by morning. Do not, under any circumstances, stay at what wife and I now call The Blech.

It is close to the French Quarter, so beware. Lots of people going out at 5pm and returning loudly between 2 and 5am. Physical plant is old.

The hotel was very nice and changed our room to a bigger room when we requested. The only problem we had was that the carpet in the room was not clean. There were large sticky spots near the bed and around the room in different places. It was a little disconcerting. Not sure if all the rooms were like this but we will probably avoid this hotel in the future.

Very nice experience. Near quarter and casino. Helpful and dedicated staff. Would stay again and recommend.

It was clean and easy check in. Price for parking was little too much.

Very good location. The staff was excellent. Fee to Park was a little high but nice place.

My wife and I were very pleased with the hotels location. It is in a part of the city that we were not familiar with and found it enjoyable. The cleanliness of the hotel is very important to us and the The Blake met our expectations.

Staff was great. Unfortunately, our room had not been cleaned for 2 days. We called the fromt desk, they quickly sent someone up and informed us about the staffing problem. Great thanks to the front desk!

They were great helped us make reservations and sent us in the right directions a lot!! Great Place will stay there on our next trip as well

Friendly, helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay and will likely stay again!

Good Hotel, friendly staff. Good adjacent restaurant. They need to replace the sink in the bathroom, it is old and looks dirty. Otherwise, it is a charming hotel ; not very far from the french quarter and good restaurants around; away from the noise and drunk people of Bourbon Street .

I enjoyed my stay there with my friends for the race . I especially enjoyed the hospitality at the restaurant and the food!

Okay hotel for price. Neighboring hotels were about $40 more per night with significantly better quality, but would stay here again when on budget.

The staff was wonderful every time we interacted with them. Unfortunately, the room had some odd idiosyncrasies. For one, the bathroom would basically flood every time we took a shower. The water would just run out onto the floor. Secondly, the thermostat. At one point our room got chilly, so we turned the air off. When we tried to turn it back on, we had to call the front desk because the room wasn't cooling down. The maintenance man told us that the only way to change the temp was to do it manually, and to call him again if we wanted to adjust the air. It was a nice offer, but we just left it. The hotel location was good (near the French Quarter, but not rowdy), and the staff was always helpful/polite, but I can't give a rating higher than three because of the room.

We booked the Blake Hotel after our plane was cancelled due to a snowstorm and we couldn't have been more displeased by our choice. After a few wonderful days staying at another Hotel in New Orleans, the Blake Hotel felt only slightly better than being trapped in Terminal C of the Charlotte Airport for two days, which was our other option. With it's Bank of America waiting room esthetic, the Blake Hotel has somehow created a microcosm of corporate tedium in what is otherwise a unique and culturally rich city. Moreover, their cheap veneer of luxury is falling apart--headboards on beds are loose and threatening to fall over in the night, and we had to move rooms at 1am when temperatures in our first room fell to below 55 and wouldn't change. I guess if you're a white bread republican than by all means stay here, you'll love it! But if you have any soul to your humanity this place will suck it dry with it's unimaginative corporate environment. You're in New Orleans--stay somewhere else. Two stars for the wonderful late night staff who were the only saving grace to this place.

Rooms were ok. Beds quite comfortable. Not much for any views. Great Staff.

flushing of toilets from upper floors can be heard and louder than should be. one of the elevators were out of order a couple of times which was inconvenient. room is great so is the service !
