Nice little hotel with garden side and beachside. The road passes by the middle. But very very close…. Kitchen was very good, and great central location!
Great place to stay, especially on the beach side. The manager, Francis, and staff are accommodating and pleasant to speak to. The oxtail was magnificent. The property is located within walking distance to shops, a church and a short taxi trip to town. This would be the only place I stay when I go back to Negril.
Nice clean room and great location on the 7 mile beach. Nice bar area.
Decent accommodation. Limited access to. Food. No dinner No safe in room. Staff. Are all wonderful. Food needs improvement. Make sure you book for the beach side there are two parts to this place The apartments are nice. You have a full kitchen All you need is to hire a chef
Absolutely the best. Beautiful grounds, incredible bar, wonderful staff
Staff was friendly and owner was accommodating. Owner took the time to listen to our complaint and then remedied it with a solution for which we were grateful. The hotel had a beach that we could go to any time of the day. The surrounding was fairly safe.
Spent a week at White Sands Negril. Love the staff. Just hung out at the beach bar, and the sand
It's on the beach and good for budget travellers. Location is great, but the rooms are not very fancy.
Did not feel safe there at all. The motel premises does not seem to be secure. My cousin got her money stolen from inside of the hotel room and there were no signs of a break-in. There is no in-room safe. All the safes are in the motel check-in area out in the open which is along the side of the road. You do need 2 keys to open the safe (one key they assigned to you and the other key which the hotel staff keeps). I've seen copies of the safe key that is assigned to the motel guest. This is not reassuring at all as someone who had access to the keys stole my cousin's money. You have been warned.
Very relaxing not the most fancy hotel but very clean good staff of people. Great view of the ocean and beautiful natural garden.
A great time at this hotel. Just needed a wash rag and a television.
This was our first beachside vacation (we're used to hiking in the mountains or non-stop site-seeing excursions) and we were not disappointed. The staff at White Sands was helpful in finding things to do, arranging safe and inexpensive ways to get there, and recommending great places to eat (including pointing out which beach vendors had the best fruit or meat patties). We felt very safe at the hotel and were pleased with our room. True, we didn't have a phone or TV in the room, but I looked at that as a bonus! The beds were a bit hard, but that was remedied by putting back a few rum punches at the bar (gotta love those 2 for 1 specials). We were warned before going that the local "peddlers" could be overwelming and even annoying at times, but I found that a polite, "No, thank you", did the trick and they continued on their way. White Sands was in the perfect location for spending a few days lounging on the beach and then taking some time to check out the local sites. One day we walked up the road, rented a Jeep and headed out to the mountains to have a look around. Another day we rented a scooter, drove 30 minutes over to Half Moon Beach for great snorkling and good food, and then jetted back over to the cliffs for a romantic, sunset dinner at LTU pub. For another excursion the hotel helped us a arrange a driver and tour guide who took us out to YS Falls, the Black River tour and Pelican Bar. I would definitely recommend White Sands as a great place to hang your sunhat in Negril!
The staff is always friendly. The bartender keeps everyone entertained. The food (only open for breakfast and lunch) is great and reasonably priced, along with the drinks at the bar. My room was very nice. At times I did miss not having a TV but it made me find other ways of entertaining myself, which is sometimes needed. When I really needed my TV fix I just went to the bar.
Best location. Directly in middle of 7 mile beach.
This hotel provides very basic accommodations but in a great location. If you plan to spend most of your time outside of the hotel enjoying the beach and visiting other attractions in the city and just want a good base location on the beach, this is a good value. The hotel itself has no amenities to speak of - it's about as far from an all-inclusive experience as you can get. The hotel restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch, but the front desk offers free pick-up service for a number of nearby restaurants and there are several other options within walking distance. Bring your own beach towels, snorkeling gear, etc as there is no option to borrow/rent anything from the hotel. The rooms come with beds, a small refrigerator, and a very basic bathroom. Rooms were kept reasonably clean but took ages to cool down between the underpowered A/C unit and gaps in the windows & doors. (Several windows had screens & slats, but no glass)The service wasn't anything to rave about with the notable exception of [...] at the front desk, who was super helpful at several points.
The hotel was very nice. It was located right on the beach and the beach alone was just beautiful. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed every night there. If your looking to not spent much on your hotel stay...this is perfect! I highly recommend it.
Hotel is VERY well located. Staff and Management are ALL Gracious hosts. Went out of their way to make us feel welcome!Beautiful place...Will be back!
