Stayed on Saturday night. Everything was very nice. Staff was very friendly. All pools are heated which is nice for the cool weather that has been occuring. Will hopefully be coming back in a few months!
A friend stayed at Island Vista for the winter and invited us over for breakfast. Located on the ground floor of the Island Vista Hotel, this restaurant is a keeper. The interior is very nice with ocean views and an atmosphere not seen in most hotel restaurants. We had 6 different breakfasts and all were excellent. The server went out of her way to make us feel welcome and tended to our every wish. The price was very reasonable for what you got for your order. If you want a good bang for your buck, the Cypress Room is an excellent place for breakfast.
We stayed on the 10th floor in a 2 queen suite. It was very clean and spacious room. The hotel location was perfect since it was a bit down ocean front boulevard from the main strip so it wasn’t noisy or packed with people. So you can head down to main strip for few hours then hear back to island vista. The weather was pretty cold during our visit so we only got the chance to hang on the beach one day. The indoor pool and lazy river helped fill the gap a little with the cold weather. I didn’t get a chance to get her name but the spring break helper was so awesome!! She really helped make the trip better for my son with spending the extra time outside the normal activity to help him find shark teeth along the beach. She was very friendly and personable. I would stay here again instead of main strip. It was driving distance to all attractions and restaurants.
Our family stayed at Island Vista over the Easter weekend and into our spring break week. The location was great - right on the beautiful beach. Our oceanfront 3 BR unit had a wonderful patio to enjoy the beach view. It was so relaxing to sit out there at all times of the day. The 3 BR unit was clean, well appointed and fit our family (9 total) well. As many have mentioned, parking is tight in the garage, but we found a spot easily each time. The weather was chilly so we didn't spend as much time on the beach, but did enjoy the outdoor pool area which was kept very clean. Sometimes hard to find chairs as people save them early in the day, but we managed each time we went. We enjoyed the Tiki Hut food and drinks! We had Easter Brunch in the Cypress Room which was delicious. Our only complaint was that they sat our party of 9 literally a foot away from the buffet table in the middle of the restaurant. It was very tight and people were right up against the backs of our chairs as they passed through the buffet line. The service and staff at The Cypress Room were lovely. Housekeeping did a great job although they didn't make up all of the beds each day but always cleaned the bathrooms and provided fresh towels. The fitness center needs to be updated and cleaned. Due to the proximity to the indoor pool and it's small size, it has a terrible smell (mold). We found it difficult to work out there but luckily you can run or exercise outside. The location was easy to reach many of the attractions without being caught up in any crowds or traffic. There are also many restaurants very close to Island Vista on N Kings Hwy.
We had a great family vacation at Island Vista. I wanted to mention the outstanding service by Terry, our waiter in the restaurant for dinner. He was wonderful in serving our family of 13. Thanks TERRY! Also awesome was Devon, our housekeeper. Thanks DEVON!
We really enjoyed our first visit to Island Vista. We'd never been to Myrtle Beach, so we had no idea of layout of town, attractions, etc. Island Vista is in an incredibly quiet part of town. It is completely surrounded by residential development, in fact we thought we had wrong address when we were driving up because of all the homes. So, if you are looking for something "in the thick" of Myrtle Beach, this isn't your place. However, if you are looking for quiet, relaxing place, this is your place. We had a room on a low floor (4) and next to one of the parking garages. Other than some noise from the pool late in the evening and the occasional door closing from the the parking garage, it was very quiet. The TIki Bar wasn't open for the season yet, but we did have breakfast from the Cypress Room one morning and it was good and in line with restaurant prices. One of our days was very cold, so the option of an indoor pool saved the day for our son. Staff was all very kind and welcoming. If we venture back to Myrtle Beach, we'll be back!
This is by far one of the best places we've stayed in Myrtle Beach in a very long time. This was ao Room Type: 1 Bedroom Ocenfront Suite Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly and courteous staff at the front desk. The staff made me feel like they truly appreciated my business. This is something that has lacked at our last few stays at other resorts in the area. When we opened the door to our suite, we were greeted by a very clean and well prepared room. Everything was spotless and prepared for our arrival. Our stay at the Island Vista was amazing from start to finish. Pros: 1. Clean and well kept rooms and lobby. 2. Swimming pool areas, both indoors and outdoors were very well policed and well kept. 3. Free Movie rentals - you can rent movies during your stay for free. This is a great service that I have not seen in any other establishment in the area over the years. 4. Attentive staff. Our needs during our stay were met promptly. 5. Security - the facility felt secure throughout our stay 6. The Island Vista is located near all major attractions in the area. We had no trouble getting to the places we wished to go in a timely fashion. 7. The restaurant is actually very good. We ate breakfast there on the last day of our stay. The wait staff were very formal and attentive. Food tasted very good and was served in the appropriate time. Other Things: 1. Parking decks are difficult to navigate. Not the worst I've ever seen. Just be prepared to drive slowly and back in to your parking spot. 2. The facility is built very close to the ocean. So at high tide there isn't a massive amount of beach between the facility and the ocean. At low tide, there is plenty of space on the beach for everyone. Overall, our stay was great. Hence the 5-dot rating. I can highly recommend the Island Vista. We will definitely be back.
The prices are kind of outrageous. But, I love it here! Welcoming for families. The breakfast could’ve been better though. The pool was amazing! They had a guy at the out side pool playing guitar who was AWESOME! Tiki bar is nice, cool staff. The inside lazy river and water parts are great and it’s right on the beach! Amazing rooms too. Very comfy and large.
My wife and I are retired and stayed at Island Vista from March 1 until March 25. The resort is located in a quiet neighborhood away from the hectic part of Myrtle Beach. We had no trouble finding amenities within 2 or 3 miles of the resort. Lots of restaurants, pharmacies, post office, shopping were within a 10 minute drive. We had a special winter rate of $2200 for a 1bedroom condo with a balcony overlooking the ocean. We were on the 9th floor. The condo was very nice. We had a washer, dryer, and dishwasher. Everything in the unit was positive. The furniture and the beds were comfortable and the TV had a wide array of channels. The bathroom was very functional. Parking was very easy. We were able to park on the lobby level of the attached garage. We never waited more than 30 seconds for an elevator. The gym was a letdown, however. There were 2 treadmills, 1 bike, 1 elliptical, and a nautilus type machine along with some weights. We had one dinner in the Cypress Room which was very good. Everyone we dealt with was very helpful and friendly. I expect that we will return again next March
Rented a three bedroom oceanfront unit with plenty of space. Had nice kitchen. Nice balcony with lots of seating. Had a nice indoor pool area and lazy river and outdoor pools. Parking garage is pretty tight but it provided adequate parking
