So I did plenty of research and boy am I glad we stayed here! If you want to be with all the crazy of the "board walk' area of Myrtle beach, then don't stay here, it is far enough away from that but you can view it in the distance if you get an end room facing south and the view was wonderful! The BEST part of this location is LOCATION! You will feel like you have a "private" beach! There are only homes on each side of the beach and it is very clean and beautiful! Warning: The board walk area is not what I would call family friendly... lots of shady people lurking which is sad, not how I remember a board walk being when I was a kid... I would not stay in that area of town. However if you stay here... you will find that there is a lot of stuff to do within driving distance. If a nice beach and soft sand is all you want, then you can stay here all day! The restaurant had very good food, the tiki bar was pricey but delicious (fish tacos were yummy yum yum), the staff is very nice and kind and if I was to go to this part of MB again, I would book here. We had a single room, however most are condo units and I peaked inside and they were WOW stunning! The pools are nice, a little small, but they never felt over crowded. The indoor pool was very nice and the little lazy river was cool (my kids really enjoyed it!). The parking garage is a little tight though so brush up on your backing in skills...
This is a great resort-hotel. The amenities are first rate and the accommodations are outstanding. The beach is uncrowded and perfect. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful- even the very busy maintenance staff we ran into throughout our stay. Highly recommend this place. And for the record, I've never been a Myrtle Beach fan. This has now changed.
We had a beautiful oceanfront room. The beach was incredible! The rooms were spacious and very clean. The hotel was well managed and the general areas were very clean and constantly kept up. The pools were beautiful and large, but the beach just takes your breath away. The resort offered chairs and umbrellas for rent. I would come back to this resort.
Awesome hotel! The hotel suite was beautiful! The view was beautiful! The staff was outstanding! Steve is awesome! I was nervous beforehand because of some reviews I read but I am so happy we chose to stay at Island Vista, everything was perfect!
Stayed here 6/8-6/11 for a much needed weekend getaway. Island Vista did not disappoint! 2 bedroom oceanfront room was ready upon arrival, clean, spacious, decorated nicely. Very comfortable indeed. Loved the comforter and pillows and tub. Quiet residential area, uncrowded beach. Staff at front desk was most courteous upon check in and when I called down a couple a times with questions.Very convenient the restaurant onsite. Not overpriced as some onsite restaurants can be, food was excellent. We ate there breakfast and dinner with the complimentary gift card I received upon check in.That was a nice surprise, $50 value. Onsite parking is a huuge plus, one of the reasons I picked this hotel. Pain to have to park off site or pay for valet and wait for car like most other places to stay. Would highly recommend this place and we look forward to our next visit!
We stayed in penthouse room 4, which was a one bedroom condo with an ocean view. We enjoyed eating breakfast and snacks on the balcony each day and looking for wildlife in/above the ocean. The hotel was quiet (we were there the second week in May, so not high season) and in a neighborhood of nice houses, rather than surrounded by other hotels/tourist attractions. Because we were in a neighborhood the beach was very empty and we had our pick of where to set up our chairs and umbrella. The only downsides were the parking garages had very narrow spaces which made it difficult to fit an SUV in to, and the A/C in our unit didn't work very accurately.
Rented a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo with my husband, parents, and two siblings. Pretty sure this condo is way bigger and even nicer than my house!! We had such a good time here and enjoyed the massive amounts of space and privacy. There are excellent amenities like a daily room service, free movies, multiple pools, a lazy river, just to name a few. The rooms were clean and comfortable (although my bed was not to my preference - it was a little too firm). The best part about this particular hotel is that it was surrounded on either side by private residences which means that the beach front was much less populated by beach goers than most other resorts. It was moments from the main "drag" so we enjoyed the privacy of the beach but never lost out on the life of Myrtle Beach. Will definitely be returning here!
A notch above the rest and it shows. 3 bedroom condo very large and has nice amenities. Pools are great, the kids loved them. Beach is great since very private feel. Parking garage is a little bit of a pain, but who cares it's a parking garage. Restaurant food pretty good. Would definitely recommend and come back. Only knock I would have is the indoor pools are a little lacking. Might not come back here with the little ones in the winter since better indoor pool options elsewhere. Other than that great.
So, my family and I drove a few hours to Island Vista Resort today, even though after we called to confirm our stay today before we started our trek, we were told that we would have to stay in 1 room for 1 night and then switch to a different room for the next night (it's just a pain having to switch from one floor/room to an entirely different one). That is a pain in and of itself, but the real disappointment comes from the lack of honesty from the reservation/front desk agent while we were booking the hotel...... As we were booking the hotel yesterday, we immediately asked about the kids club and how to sign up. We were assured that it was an easy process during our stay beginning the next day, and that we only had to sign up the kids at the front desk. Our only reason for choosing this hotel was bc the kids could be taken care of (kids club) by proper caregivers for 2 hours while we got to be adults and have a mini break poolside. Upon check-in, we were told that the kids club didn't begin until the 8th...... Why, then, would you lie to get us to book the hotel only to have us drive all this way and check-in and be told that the kids club wasn't being offered, on top of the room change no one told us about the day before when we booked? Disappointing. I only have 2 stars bc this hotel is oceanfront.
Island Vista was a great stay for my family of 4. We rented a 1 bedroom unit which was plenty of room for my wife and 2 daughters ages 13 and 11. Great location on the beach. It sort of tucked into a residential stretch of Myrtle. We made use of the kitchen for breakfast everyday and lunch sometimes too. The tiki bar was reasonably priced and the lunch menu decent bar food. Pool area is well layered out but it must be a little tight during the high season. Towel machine was always well stocked. We will be returning next April for sure.'
