We had 13 in our group for a long weekend to celebrate a friends birthday. The rooms were very spacious and well equipped. Unfortunately we were there with it was cold outside, but it would be a great destination in the summer! Would definitely stay here again.
We spend each anniversary with these folks and never have an issue. The front desk is polite, welcoming, and helpful. The bell staff is always ready to help. Security is visible and even the maintenance folks are ready to assist in the rare occasion something is not up to par. During the December Holiday, the clientele is more "mature" which is nice when it comes to the pool and hot tubs and around the common areas. Pick a room as High as you can get and of course away from the elevator. The rockers on the veranda and the balconies are a great spot even in the cold. Bundle up with a hot drink and watch the waves roll in. Didn't get into the restaurant this trip but in the past, we have never had a bad experience there. It is located in a neighborhood so the craziness of the Strand can be left behind. Walk the streets and enjoy the Christmas lights of those who live there permanently.
I went for a short solo trip to Myrtle Beach in August 2017 and luckily made a great choice in selecting the Island Vista! It is right on the beach, close to stores and restaurants, has several little pools and a lazy river under cover. I found a lot of fossilized shark teeth on the beach and it was very clean. I had excellent customer service from Allison Jones at the front desk as well as from 2 bartenders: Demetrick and Tyler. Those gentlemen were funny and gave me great tips about fun and safe things to do in Myrtle Beach during my stay. I had a really nice time!
Have stayed at Island Vista multiple times, this time in 507.Booked through Prista vacations on VRBO, they were great & easily our favorite unit yet. The bar is great & ordered food multiple times all very good, pricey but good in a pinch if you don’t feel like cooking or going out. Front desk staff always so friendly making sure to always say hello even if just walking through lobby. If this resort would put in outdoor fire pits for winter guests would totally be a 5 because in our opinion-MB last 20 yrs-perfect location away from craziness, great staff, great units, great pools-even 1 outdoor being heated in winter!!
We were spending one night in Myrtle Beach over the Christmas Break. We are fairly frequent visitors to the beach as we live in Columbia SC but Island Vista is out of our price range during peak season. We were excited to get the chance to stay here. Our two BR condo was very clean and provided plenty of room for two teenage boys. Full kitchen with stackable laundry. Beds were very comfortable. Beautiful view of the ocean. The pools were clean and heated to a nice temperature. Indoor pool is very nice with grotto look. It was a short visit but we really enjoyed what Island Vista had to offer.
A splendidly different kind of location from what we're accustomed to for such a property. In the middle of a nice residential area and surrounded by private homes. The streets to it are narrow and quiet - at least when my family and I visited in earlly December 2017. This appears to be an older building that has been fairly well maintained and upgraded. The interior is clean and pretty modernized. Our particular one-bedroom unit - 1113 (11th floor) was nicely appointed and had a great balcony overlooking the pools directly below and the beach only about 100 yards or so farther out (depending on tide, of course). Although it was probably constructed when low, 8-foot ceilings were the norm, the owners have done a pretty good job bringing it as up to date as possible. Granted, it's a resort property, not just a hotel, but we consider it to be a cut above what many 3- and 4-star hotel rooms offer. It has one two-queen bedroom, spacious bathroom, adequately equipped kitchen, a dining table/cabinet that folds down to a double/queen (?) bed, and a sleep sofa, so theoretically it could accommodate 8 guests with comfort ... if not complete privacy for all. The unit was clean and comfortable. Apparently well insulated, too, because even on the cold, wet, windy, dreary December days that we were there (low 40s and raining the whole time), we never once had to run the heater. Can't speak for summers. The minuses, none of which were deal breakers for us, are: 1) poorly retrofitted kitchen. The "cut" of the cabinet layout to accommodate the fridge and other features leaves some cabinets pretty much inaccessible and useless - not that we needed them, though. 2) the sliding glass door to the balcony is a quality, heavy duty unit, but could use maybe one more layer of glass ... or a heavier, thicker inner curtain ... to help drown out the surf noise from outside. If you're a light sleeper and need to sleep on the couch, that could be an issue. 3) long walk from the elevator to the room, although if you don't mind taking stairs, there is a stairwell right across from the room. 4) parking deck access is weird - you have to go down a few floors before you can get to it from the building. 5) the parking deck is very dark, cramped and difficult to maneuver in, so I can imagine what a nightmare it might be during busier times of the year. The pluses of Island Vista are: 1) very friendly and accommodating staff who know what good customer service and true southern hospitality are. 2) great restaurant and bar on premises (breakfast was awesome) with an exceptionally outgoing, warm and engaging staff who made us feel welcome and special. 3) it's reasonably close to shops, other restaurants and attractions around MB. 4) instant beach access and spectacular views (we saw pelicans, gulls and dolphins continually during our stay). This was our first visit to MB, so this place helped make a very good first impression, even during lousy winter weather. We definitely WILL return to this property for any future visits. Recommendations from us to other prospective guests: If long walks to and from your room or car are an issue for you, ask for a unit near the elevator and on a floor with direct parking deck access. I believe there are two decks - a north and a south deck. Can't guarantee, but we got the impression that this place caters to more mature crowds, so less likelihood of rowdy, loud partying college springbreaker types. Seems to be good for families and those who value peace and quiet.
When I booked this stay the forecast was for high 50"s low 60's and clear It ended up high 30's low 40's and rainy Friday and Saturday until Sunday morning which was clear and beautiful Taking photographs of sunrises is on eof my reasons for visiting the beach and I took some really nice photographs of the sunrise, Now the hotel.suite. We had a great room with a fantastice view of the beach and ocean and the sun rose right into the living room threough the full with windows and doors. The suite was clean and beautifulluy laid out and decocrated. ( My wife really loved it ). We hope to go back and have better weather.
This place impresses me every time, and I'm pretty picky about hotels. Great room, great service, fun pool area, and terrific pizza from their restaurant. I feel welcome here and the staff goes above and beyond. Wish I could come here more often.
We stayed in a king bed/oceanfront room on the 11th floor. The room was very spacious and clean. Microwave and fridge were very useful. It was also nice that they had a full-size iron and board in the room. We really enjoyed relaxing in the wicker rocking chairs on the oceanfront balcony overlooking the spectacular Myrtle beach shoreline. Easy beach access right through the parking garage and out onto the sand! Check-in/out was fast and efficient. It's a nice touch that they give you free dvd rentals in the lobby of all new movies. Parking in the attached garage was easy, as well. The best part is the location! Perfectly located close to the major roadway with every store and restaurant imaginable. My only disappointment was that we could hear the conversation of the guests in the adjoining room but they were not excessively loud so it didn't cause a major issue. The staff was very friendly and everything was in working order. Very nice property and excellent price for off-season visit.
I would like to take this time to tell about my stay . I’ve stayed in so many hotels in my life . To many to count in Myrtle Beach. My stay here at Island Vista is for business/vacation. First time I’ve stayed at the Island Vista and I’m very glad I did. The atmosphere is awesome the front desk is the one every hotel should strive for . It’s very safe here your located in a residential area. It’s right on the strip not far from anything. The staff treats you like family and wants to help you in anyway. Gail , Lorie and Wendy at the front desk are amazing ladies. They make you feel so welcome and love to talk with the guests and are very knowledgeable on your needs or where the best place is to eat at . Hats off ladies 110 % they go above their means to help and make your stay a rememberable one . So come give Island Vista a try . Last but not least housekeeping is on top of it . If you come to stay try to get the 4 th floor 😁 your housekeeper is Mary she’s is simply amazing 😉. Very Pleasant and eager to please . Mary I have enjoyed you very much. Mary 110% to you as well.
