This is a hidden gem. The only reason it is not charging much higher prices is the fact that it is not located in downtown Munich. But do not fear, as it is a mere 4 block walk and 5 subway stop jaunt to Tourist Mecca in Munich. It offers three restaurants (two indoor and one outdoor) with a tasty, albeit limited menu. The outdoor area is graced with a relaxing water feature. There is also a bar with a large TV on which my husband as able to watch Munich win the football game, or if you are American as I am.....soccer. Everyone speaks English. The menu is in German and English. The included buffet breakfast is by far the best I have ever had in all if Europe. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. Many notable details abound, such as the sumptuous tarte that sits on a table in the bar during the day complete with napkins, plates and forks, inviting you to sit and partake. The four jars of various candy sitting on the counter in the lobby. The local newspaper hanging in the bar ready to be read. There also appears to be a biergarten out back. The room itself is large, with not one but TWO chairs and a small table. It contains a refrigerator and large armoire for your clothes. The bathroom floors are HEATED! My one and only complaint is that the shower is too small. I inevitably shut off the water every time I turn around. If we are ever fortunate enough to return for a visit I would return here in a flash.
Great room, spacious and touches of luxury. Good breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Friendly bar and staff. Have stayed many times never fails to live up to expectations. Close to the Meese so can get full if an exhibition is on.
Nice hotel walking distance to the Munchen Messe / Trade Fair hall. Of you want to have dinner at the hotel, make sure to make a reservation well in advance. Personnel is friendly and fluent in english.
We stayed in Prinzregent hotel just for 2 nights, but if we will go in Munich again we'll choose it. Very good and spacious rooms, classic wood furniture, specific for the zone as the Bavarian costumes worn by hotel stuff at the reception or restaurant. (or because the Oktoberfest?)The breakfast was of a very good selection and quality, abundant, far from Italian or french breakfast, or even other bigger chain hotels from other German cities. And because the hotel is so good, it was full this days, even if is 20 minutes far from downtown by suburban train. Strongly recommend it.
This hotel is in the munich suburbs but very easy commute from central station. S2 line to eroding and get off at reim, then a short walk signed from station. This is a great hotel, well managed, English speaking professional staff, spotless and a great breakfast smorgasbord, add in comfortable rooms and there you have it a great base to explore munich and beyond. We arrived early after a long flight Christian on reception amazingly helpful and found us a room. Jessica served us lunch and offered suggestions on visiting Oktoberfest. What a great welcome and continued with any travel query being promptly researched and answered. Definitely recommend.
I booked this hotel for our stay in Munich. I was hesitant at first since it was a bit far outside the city, but the free parking and breakfast won me over. It turns out the train into the city was fast and easy to access, so this was not a problem at all. The train station was a five minute walk away and the train was only about 15 min. We stayed over the weekend and the free parking lot was pretty packed, but there is plenty of free street parking and a garage for 12 euro a night. The staff was really friendly and helpful and the room was cozy and clean. But most importantly the breakfast was amazing!!! So good. Honestly if you are having doubts, don't. This hotel was definitely worth it.
We chose this hotel as we were flying home the next day and it was on the right side of town for our journey - close enough for the airport the next day but also in a short train ride distance to Munich if we felt like it. There is also free parking in the hotel grounds. The staff really made this hotel. They all seemed to speak several languages, and were fluent in English. They were very helpful. The hotel is kind of in the suburbs but has a pretty garden area to sit, and in the end we decided to stay here for dinner. The dinner was quite reasonable - not outstanding, but good choices other than the normal schnitzel and sausages (which I was pretty tired of in Germany by then). The room was very comfortable, good mattress, good temperature control, opening windows. Good bathroom and shower. Good amenities. A slight disappointment was the fridge which was a peltier model and it did not adequately get the drinks cool, much less cold. A proper refridgeration model would be much better. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding - masses of choices, you could get an omelette cooked to order if you wanted and you could get a cappucino or any other coffee or tea on order. All in all a good experience and we would stay here again as a stopover in or out of Munich.
We picked this hotel because of its great reviews on Trip Advisor but what particularly struck me was the pride of the manageress in her hotel and the pains she took to respond to EVERY comment. She must care very much for her hotel and her guests indeed! We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed everyday here. We chose this hotel as it looked quaint, homely and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. IMHO, it beats staying in a large hotel chain. The general reception and dining areas in the hotel were well furnished and welcoming. The bedroom was fresh and clean with fluffy bath towels. The al fresco seating area is lovely in the warm weather and we spent many happy hours sitting there enjoying breakfast and a beer in the evening. The indoor dining is beautiful and the breakfast spread is very good. There is a small play area with swings, slide and sand pit for the children too. The staff were all efficient and polite and we felt at home throughout. There is a train station near the hotel and the walk is about 5 mins away. The trains from Riem takes you directly to the city centre and also Munich hbf which is super convenient. Highly recommended if you are in Munich. Many thanks for the memories. This has been a great start to our holiday in Europe.
The people at the front desk were always very nice and kind. They speak fluent english and were always in a good mood to help. The hotel is clean and confortable. From the hotel to the ICM is a nice 13min walk. To improve: the restaurant has not many options. But there is a very nice indian restaurant just next to it.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was clean and comfortable. In a very nice neighborhood. Close to shopping and good restaurants. Kind of far from downtown Munich, but it was no problem for us. We enjoyed the quiet.
