Great hotel and perfect location! The staff was very helpful and the food was terrific as well!

Great Location. Friendly Staff. Rooms were very nice.

Friendly, helpful and capable staff. Comfortable facilities. Fantastic location. Good value for the price. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hotel Excelsior has an exquisite interior that is exceptionally well-maintained. The location is extremely central and right by the main transportation hub. All of the major attractions in Maxvorstadt are within walking distance.

Super cute and comfortable room. Amazing breakfast (not included)! Located steps away from shops, Hertz car rental, train station, public transportation. Easy walking distance to the cultural attractions and more shops and restaurants. I have mixed expectations about the train station area in other cities; what I found here was way above all I imagined. The only inconvenience is that the hotel has no garage. I had to park my car in a parking garage (there is street parking but that must be paid by the hour).

Close to public transportation and old city square. Excellent location.

We stayed here Sept 23 for a 4 day visit to Munich it ended up being one of the best hotels of our 15 day trip, staff is helpful and friendly the rooms are wonderful!!...very easy to get around the only negative i have is the price of breakfast it was awesome but $55 was a bit steep for breakfast we had breakfast and most fees are $5 not $25, but we tried it once and went across from the hotel to the coffee shop they have breakfast as week for less than half the price..this is a great location

Hotel Excelsior is an excellent , charming hotel, the staff there were super friendly and attentive we really enjoyed our stay there.

Great location and comfortable hotel. Breakfast a little to pricey.

Lovely hotel and very close to Karlsplatz and Marienplatz. The lobby and restaurant were beautiful. Unfortunately, the room we booked on Orbitz was on the 5th floor (top) with no air conditioning and the outside temperature was 85 degrees. There was no indication that our classic double room was not with air conditioning. We were offered an upgrade to a room with air conditioning for a substantial increase in price when I called to ask if we could be moved. Very disappointing. Needless to say, we were miserably hot and when I opened the windows the noise level from the street below was incredibly loud.

Great location! Easy access to transportation. Comfortable walk for sightseeing. Pleasant staff and nice rooms.

Alpine room was very well done and comfortable. Overall I felt the hotel is doing a wonderful job blending old world charm with modern amenities. The staff was without doubt one of the finest my wife and I have dealt with in the EU or the state's. Josep in particular was very personable while maintaining the utmost in professional decorum. A 30 second walk to access an escalator to Munich main train station was a huge plus. Several excellent restaurants within an easy walk. Highly recommend the Augistiner. The Victulla market is a must visit for a light meal and a beer in the garden. Go to the Houphbrough house for a beer. We did not get acceptable service there but perhaps it was an exception and not the norm. In closing this hotel and its staff are like family immediately after introductions. Good family not the drunk uncle who ruins a holiday. Forgive the spelling errors

Our stay at The Hotel Excelsior was outstanding. One of the best hotels we have stayed at in Europe. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Loved it!

Excellent location, attentive staff and a splendid decor made for a most enjoyable stay.

Lovely classic hotel. Everything was great...including friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. Loved the decor! Bed very comfortable...

Nice rooms and staff. Close walk from train. Checked in and they pointed out the breakfast room. Next morning ate there, ASSUMING it was included in the room price to find out at checkout that it wasn't . Great food, but pricey. A nice hotel

This hotel is conveniently located close to the main railway station and within walking distance of the old town in Munich. Was reasonably priced and clean. Although this hotel is advertised as air conditioned, not all rooms have AC. Stayed during a very hot summer in Europe and the room was very unpleasantly hot as a result.

We chose Excelsior for their excellent location, near train station & tours leaving town. While staff was very friendly and helpful I felt overall, that the hotel was a bit tired in need of some deep cleaning and touch-up work. Compared to similar hotels we stayed in Germany, Excelsior didn't provide in room coffee or even a bottle of water. Rooms were well cleaned but very stuffy, hotel provided an oscillating fan which basically moved the warm air around.
