This is a large upper mid range hotel, modern and well equipped. Staff were all friendly, and large bar area with big screen for Sky Sports etc Rooms and breakfast etc all in line with what's expected for a hotel of this nature.
Stayed at the Leonardo Royal for one night. Had a standard room (369). Room: The room was very clean, looked actually brand new. Nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable, the pillows could be a bit better. The room was not large, but enough room. Bathroom was clean and worked fine. A bit more storage for personal belongings would be good. Nice large windows. My only comment is that the doors make a lot of noise when they close and also when people walk around outside the room. Even with earplugs I woke up at night from someone entering/leaving another room. Premises: Everything looks very new and nicely and modern decorated. Surroundings: I needed to be near the hotel, so am not sure about good transportation to the city, etc. But the benefit of this hotel is that it is very near the Olympia Park and great to walk/run. Also the hotel has a small "fitness-bar" with apples, water and jogging tracks. Very nice! Personnel: Everyone was very friendly and professional. My compliments. Breakfast: Was really good! Much choice, tasty! Overall: Was very pleased with my stay and would stay here again for sure.
We stayed at this hotel for one night while traveling through Germany. The staff knew it was my husband's 40th birthday and gave us a beautiful room and a welcome letter with some sweets. It was a really special touch. The lobby is lovely. Great bar and restaurant. Breakfast was a wonderful spread. The hotel is stylish and modern. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others staying in the Munich area.
I had heard a lot of this hotel from friends and business partners so on my last stay in Munich I have it a shot. It’s close to my client so it was ideal to stay here. Checkin was friendly and easy - at all times, the team was super nice and helpful I have to say. The room is well sized, not too large but has space for an extra chair and a desk to get some work done. Bathrooms are clean and meeting expectations. Now, one star less for the joke of a gym: small, and very low ceilings. The building is new and was purposely built for the hotel, but there was never meant to be a gym. The room layout and size is far from gym quality: 4 cardio machines and a few dumbbells. If you like gym to relax after a long business day, choose a different place. Breakfast on the other hand: a delight in variety and availability. With more than 100 guests at breakfast, there were no long queues or cold food. They constantly refilled, and even the table service was great. Enough team to make you feel welcome. In terms of food quality, it was OK, would have been nice to have some organic food with source information and maybe some specials. However all in all really good. During my stay there was a large (probably 250+ people) group and they had their receptions at the lobby — that was too many people for the lobby. They setup food counters and drink stations and the lobby looked like a main station hard to get through, so not well organised. Such groups should be moved to conference centres or a ball room, not the hotel lobby where people check in and wait for their taxis. Outside there were constantly a group of at least 20 smokers, awful look for a new guest arriving. That makes the three stars - I would probably come back if I have business in that part of town but there are other alternatives as well.
I only stayed for two nights, after two hard days. So I was almost drained. I did not cared about restaurant, lounge bar, sauna, fitness room. Nothing. Just hoped to have a good sleep over the night. Target achieved! Perfect beds, perfect temperature. Quite. Clean, high quality amenities, interesting bath concept, hundreds of TV channels, large rooms. Absolutely nothing to complain. Actually, there is... The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Really. OK, it is close to the u-bahn station, but still, nothing in walking distance. Even if you have a nice view (Olympia Park, O2 Tower), even it Olympia Einkauf Zentrum is in a half a mile distance, still.... there is nothing there. But I guess it is just a perfect business hotel. The area is just so quite. There is a four lane street in front of it, but you will not hear the cars. Office buildings are rising in the area, so I'm sure they will have a lot of customers. Nevertheless, the hotel is very, very good! I would definitely recommend it. And if you are lucky, sometimes is not even expensive!
I stayed here for two nights in the end of February (invited to a meeting by MINI HQ) and I liked the Hotel a lot. I was very clean, the room was good sizewise and comfortwise. The breakfast was already paid for so no complaint about the price. The breakfast was excellent with a lot to choose from. I ordered an omelette to go with the other stuff the first morning and it was perfect. The only downside was the cleaning of my room the first morning. No extra roll of toilet paper and no new liquid bottled soap. Apart from that everything was perfect. If MINI HQ asks me to attend another meeting I do hope we get to stay at Leonardo Royal Hotel!
I stayed three nights for business. In general the hotel was really good, especially the breakfast was amazing! The rooms were spacious enough and suited well for working too. If I had to give some critique, I'd hope a bit larger gym. Another thing I'd like to point is the showers in the morning. At least my shower gave me only either boiling hot or freezing cold water on one morning. All in all, quite a nice stay.
Stayed at this hotel by accident. Our flight was cancelled and the airline booked us there for the night. Hitel is perfect. Everything you think of having or using is there. The rooms are perfect and clean...with exception: I found a long female hair in my towel and I didnt feel like using it. Everything else was nice. They even complemented us with toothbrushes ect because our luggage was at the airport.
This was my favorite hotel in Munich. It is not close to any restaurants or sites other than Olympic Park, but it is close to the U-ban which will quickly get you into downtown Munich. However, the thing that made this an outstanding hotel was that it had a cigar smoking area, and the rooms were less than 300 Euros a night!. But no more. They decided to close the cigar smoking room; replacing it with yet another meeting room. Schade (a pity). It has now lost a lot of its uniqueness ... at least for those of us who smoke cigars. I will be seeking out another "favorite" that is more centrally located in Munich.
Elegant, comfortable, clean, professional, with very good service. An iron and board are not standard in the room, you have to ask for one. The dinner buffet selection planned for our event could have used better variety, other than that, it was perfect.
