Very professional but also friendly service. The hotel doesn't look too special from the outside but inside it's a cozy, romantic hotel. Enjoyed the spa but you'll have to ask for someone to turn the saunas on. The hotel is very well located... I heard a rumour that the building may be torn down soon for a rebuild. If so, I'd be excited to see what they come up with next!
The stay at this hotel was wonderful. The staff were friendly, polite and professional. Amazing food at the restaurant and the Sommelier could not have more dead on for his pick of wine to go w/the food. Walk outside the hotel and it is an easy walk to the Glockenspiel or Residence or even the hop on hop off bus. The location is great.
The location is second to none, with access to the U-barn and 2 mins in to Munich shopping streets. The city is busy and full of charm. To walk into the tranquillity of the hotel after a full days work (and play) was perfect.
I came back after some 20 years and was surprised and happy to see that very little had changed. Excellent service and facilities. The restaurant is still outstanding, very fine food, great service and an excellent wine list.
The hotel has a great location and friendly staff. Certainly not five star room. Rooms rate a 3+. Bar is nice and the music was great. Restaurant was too formal for our tastes. Value for price was just not there based on the small rooms. Would be nicer charging station, less colateral, better towels and bedding and cleaner carpet.
We had a fantastic surprise. A very friendly and educated staff. Hotel with an awsome location. Great rooms. Very clean, quite and new. The breakfast was one of the best parts. We will be back for sure.
As a member of "The leading hotels of the world " this grand hotel lived up to its status . It is perfectly situated just a 5 minute walk from the main railway station , (the train is a cheap option from the airport because a taxi can cost up to €100) , and a 15 minute walk to Mariensplatz , the centre of Munich and where the Glockenspiel is played at 11 and 12 o'clock each day . The breakfast selection was first class as was the dining rooms with lovely window tables . The service throughout the hotel was perfect .
The gourmet restaurant was more costly than tasty. We have to wait very long time for the food. The food looked extremely nice but the taste was not that good. The service was ok and the room nice and clean. The hotel is very central in Munich, so it easy to go shopping or take the u-bahn.
The location of the Koenigshof is excellent, as were the staff and the facilities. The bar is small but cosy, and there was some live music on a couple of evenings. All in all a very nice place to stay.
A lovely hotel in a great location opposite Karlsplatz (piazza). The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Munich's main train station. It's a classically decorated hotel and that's what attracted us to it. The beds were so plush and comfortable and the bathroom marble floors were heated. This hotel was very luxurious. They even cleaned your shoes for you if you left them outside your hotel room door at night. My only complaint is the reception staff didn't know much about tours as we wanted to go to Neuschwanstein Castle and the person at reception told us not to bother because they had no idea how to get there unless we used a private car that would have cost us a fortune. Reception staff should have the info at their fingertips. Luckily we had already planned our other activities and didn't need their further assistance. Aside from that it was a lovely hotel. If you crossed the street and walked into Karlsplatz and kept walking, you walk into old Munich with the Town Hall's glockenspiel and the markets. Many pretty traditional Bavarian shops as you walk down Neuhauser Straβe. It was very pretty. Use the yellow hop on hop off bus and not the red one (couldn't be bothered)
