My room had very annoying smell. The maintenance was not good. However, well located. The breakfast was very good and the balcony for the breakfast was nice. Very large hotel by the way. Much better compared to my experience with Sofitel.
This is one of the best hotels in Munich, though it is rather large and feels a bit outdated in some of the common spaces. Staff is wonderful. The hotel location is the best, close to the heart of Munich, with good restaus and great shopping a step away, as well as several landmarks. Deluxe-type Rooms are a bit small but very tidy and comfortable. The food is good - highly recommend enjoying breakfast or brunch at least once on the gorgeous upper terrace. Overall a lovely stay.
Stayed here to be close to Munich Airport for an early morning flight. Rooms were larger than most German hotels, very clean and close to downtown Freising. Staff was attentive and helpful. 20 minute ride to Munich airport so great place to stay the last night in Germany.
First I have to point out I had the best birthday as long as I can remember spent in a hotel. The staff that I encountered were very awesome. As I have told me colleagues on my return I didn't really have to think about anything. From the barkeep in the lobby who suggested an excellent restaurant nearby to fit my tastes buds, to the reception guy at 4am that suggested a late checkout for me when obviously he could see was going to need one following my night at the Night Club downstairs. Thanks for that it was a good call! To the nice unexpected hotel birthday cake and card when I was checking out the hotel. Very nice! It was delicious I might add. If I have to give 1 name that made my night spectacular I will say Michael Horn and the guys I the Night Club. I was only expecting a alone birthday party get away with the hopes of listening to some good music/jazz. I booked my room with plans to see the Gerard Conners and his circle of friends show, and DJ Wayne. The show was great and DJ Wayne who managed to play all the right songs . Just what I needed that night! Michael went out his man to make sure I felt comfortable and didn't have to want anything. His attention to detail was second to none. He says he has been there for 10 years and loves his job and it really showed. I can't even remember when I have received such attention to detail and assertiveness from a professional barkeep. He saw me wiping sweat from my face after so much dancing, he brought me napkins, I ordered an old fashions, he would bring it with a water on the side with table snacks. I never had to ask for a thing. He just seemed to know it. I really felt like the whole place belonged to me that night They made my birthday one I will never forget. Even the band and DJ Wayne gave me a shout out at midnight for my birthday. I told my friends this is what a 5 star hotel must be all about! I truly, truly, appreciate all the warm hospitality I received on my special day.
Beautiful and historic hotel with very friendly staff. Room was bit small, but view from the room was amazing. Restaurant for breakfast was great with amazing spread. Bit touristy, must stay in Munich.
This hotel we booked into thinking you might get something special. They are so busy looking after their walk in guest that you play second fiddle. Management needs some wake up. A big disappointment.
Good hotel to go in the summer. There's a great terrace on the 6th/7th floor for not only breakfast (goes till 11am) but also evening drinks / cocktails. There's also a spa / gym et al also. Rooms are decent - I stayed in a modern room so all the amenities were there. Professional / helpful front desk.
Room clean, service OK, room quite even if a renovation going on in adjacent rooms. 6th floor breakfast terrace with view of the city is great. The top 7th floor, with breakfast tables and bar and its pool area, nearly every day closed from the hotel guests due to private ventures. WiFi very slow and tiresome, needs registering every day. Good location if city center of Munich is the priority.
Old hotel and little preserved. Rooms without facilities. The worst staff of all the hotels I've ever met. They do not care about you and are in a hurry to meet you. Concierge a disappointment. Pegi information to go by metro to BMW welt. He wrote on the map how to go, but arriving halfway we learned that the subway line was under renovation more than a month ago. My God, it's been over a month, and the Concierge did not know. You should change your profession. I was with a baby on my lap. They are the worst, the worst. Decadent hotel
Absolutely lovely from start to finish. Sadly, we had only one night to enjoy this historic, family-run gem. Wonderfully located for walking and shopping. We were upgraded to a small suite that looked old fashioned with carved wood paneling and a four poster bed. It was very cozy! We had time for a quick peek at the gorgeous rooftop bar and a quick swim in the fabulous pool. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Lovely assortment of everything you could want to eat or drink. Wonderful ambiance with very well dressed people. The service was friendly and professional - perfection. One night was enough to know that I would choose this city and this hotel again!
