Hotel Bayerischer Hof5.0 out of 5.0

Really enjoyed my stay, the staff are very friendly and helpful, but most everything is taken care of so you don't need to speak to them too much. Breakfast is fantastic. It is great to see a building and hotel with this tradition being upgraded to modern conveniences without losing its charm.
We enjoyed our stay at the Bayerischer, it was well located and walking distance for the luxury stores and Marienplatz. The hotel itself was beautiful and the service impeccable. I liked their rooftop bar for a drink before the sunset. And the spa was perfect. The only negative thing I can say, in the restaurant I found a hair on the cheese platter in the breakfast buffet and I told the staff they just removed it with their hand and kept the platter there.. that shocked me but otherwise it was OK. As well not much choices for a vegetarian like me. But I definitely recommend this hotel for the location and also for the entertainment around.
The hotel was ok. When it came to the name and telling the locals where you are staying, they were blown away. This is the premier of premier hotels in Munich. However, while you are staying there, it does not feel that way. The rooms are ok, depending on what one you get. Every room in the hotel is different. I had 2 during my stay since there was an issue with the 1st. The AC was horrible and the rooms were all stifling. This seemed to be the consensus amongst our group. The hotel in itself was nice. There are plenty of bars and places to eat, however, there was nowhere outside at night to sit and relax and enjoy a drink.
Bedrooms and bathrooms (I love the Lather bath amenities) are luxurious and comfortable, staff is perfectly friendly and attentive. The hotel is right in the center, so best shopping and dining opportunities are in walking distance. The breakfast was of high quality, I really didn’t like the crowded atmosphere though. The spa has the top reputation in town - sadly we had no time to check it out: next time!
Staying in this hotel is like staying in an old palace. It’s spectacular if you appreciate that kind of thing. It’s located near the square. Close to shops and restaurants. I appreciate how they’ve handled a group of 360 people on a business vacation trip.
This hotel is really dated in some ways, but overall charming. Some of the restaurants didn’t blow us away and our room was...strange, but the staff was incredible, we ended up falling in love with Palais Keller downstairs. The spa and fitness center are beautiful and the views from Blue Spa can’t be beat. The location is fantastic for business and tourism. We ended up really enjoying our stay.
In the first 18 hours - and thoroughly jet lagged - we experienced 4 room changes, and while it was handled by most of the staff graciously (one very arrogant and rude fellow at midnight made us feel like it was our problem), there was no compensation as the room was prepaid! We were “treated” to a free coffee, and chocolates, instead? Personal information was exchanged with manager but it has now been several weeks later and still no contact. Location is perfect and laura Ashley decorated rooms are typically Bavarian. Loved my first stay here 5 years ago. Will never return after this experience.
Together with my partner we stayed for three days two nights arriving on a early Friday morning. We stayed on the 7th floor, occupied a deluxe room which included breakfast. Room itself was spacious, nicely decorated and the bed was perfect. All in all the room is an 8 out 10 (would be 10/10 if the room came with an ironing board and thee/coffee maker ;-) Breakfast: Nice breakfast, very busy and crowded at the time we came and staff was a bit overwhelmed by this. Normally the breakfast sets you back a whopping €41,- per pax which I would normally would not like to pay as it is a bit steep for what you get, but as it came as standard with the room it was just fine.. Hotel Bars and Restaurants: If you are staying here and want to enjoy the restaurants, nightclub, rooftop bar do not forget to make reservations and arrangements, as it can be very busy with both hotel guests as with walk-in customers. Room service The Room service is brilliant and very friendly on our check out day we ordered breakfast and i would definitely recommend doing this over the breakfast buffet ;-) Wellness, fitness and pool: Nice but a bit crowded when we visited but certainly more than fine! Staff: Very kind and helpful, a bit overwhelmed at times and probably not used to a near 100% occupation rate. All in all we already concluded that for a mid center 5* Hotel it is certainly a place worth to revisit! Cheers!
Excellent location and enjoyable style. Even though there were works going on at hotel they were on top of their comms which you can’t argue with! The hotel itself is quite classic by design and offers spacious rooms with a brilliant view of you get the right one. The room service was delicious and facilities excellent. My only remark is that the hotel could do with some better signage to get around as I got lost a couple of times with the long same-y corridors.
The location is great. The hotel did not feel as welcoming as I would like. It is a classic grand dame and during our stay felt more like a business hotel. Our room was comfortable and the service professional however there was nothing special that warrants a 5-star hotel classification instead of 4.
