The reason why I like Hygie Hotel is because the cubicles are small enough for privacy. They are not like the open spaced bunks/beds that most other hostels have. Whoever came up with the idea of the enclosed cubicle is clearly a genius. Anyway, I look forward to returning during my next visit to Montreal.

The room was not very clean, the bed sheets either. There's no customer service and we had problems with the code to get into the building. Also the last night we stay. There was an old person who was struggling getting into the building. We called multiple times and no one answered.

When I got to the Hotel , there was nobody at the lobby for more then an hour , Came back later in the afternoon noon and they apologized, the staff was very friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. No hot water at all for the shower this morning. Great price for a night in Montreal Old port.

The pod itself was clean, however the ventilation system didn’t work and it became very hot during the night. The pods didn’t fully close which made it very annoying when others would watch tv or make any noise. The entire property seemed to be in construction and there were electrical cables hanging from the ceiling upon entrance. Not a welcoming atmosphere at all. There was only one toilet and one shower for everyone. I doubt it respects the building codes. Overall it felt very ominous and wasn't a comfortable stay.

This property was fantastic location for Old Montreal. The air conditioning was always on, which got quite cold in our room. We did have a little trouble with the door not opening to the room, via the electronic card, but these things did not dampen our trip. A terrific location that is for sure
