After driving many hours and near exhaustion we had to stay here. We would have been better off sleeping in the car or even on the street. How do I start Dirty, filthy, smelly, paint falling from ceiling, lights not working, tables falling apart. ''''' DO NOT STOP HERE ''''. We travel frequently and have never stayed at a place so horrible. should be minus 5 stars
If I could rate this less stars, I would. The room smells of body odor, fish, vomit, and mildew. After traveling several hours and encountering a wicked storm with flash flooding, hail, and tornadoes we had to stop. We should have risked it. The lamp shades all have mold, the linens on the bed smell like horrible body odor. There was a piece of chewed gum stuck on the wall. There was a random pill and screw laying in the middle of the floor. The ceiling in the bathroom was falling down onto the floor. The mirror was cracked horribly. Didn't bother to explore any further. Will be filing corporate complaint!
Run for your life. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in every way possible. Words cannot describe my disgust in ever way possible. Many adjectives: rude, dirty, filthy, moldy, broken down, nasty, foul, unsightly, crappy old Cherrio breakfast, vagrant occupied, etc. Q
Reservation was messed up even though it was done and edited on the Choice Hotels website. We did not get the type of room we paid for and they tried to charge us for a night we had cancelled well in advance. The room we got was very substandard. The TV didn't work, some of the furniture was broken, and the mattress springs could be felt through the top of the mattress. One of the staff members was VERY arrogant and abusive another seemed confused. The cleaning crew left us no washcloth or soap, took some of my makeup and left their McDonald's lunch bag AND a bag for a Kiddie meal in our room in return while, we assumed, they were cleaning it. Breakfast was very limited.
I stayed here at Rodeway Inn for 2 weeks while working in Montgomery. I usually stay in budget type motels to save on travel expenses, so I knew what to expect from these type rooms. While it is not the holiday Inn, neither did I pay their rates. What I got was a clean room, an uneventful stay, cold a/c, and above average service. I have stayed at Inn Town Suites in Montgomery before when I was here before and their service was as you would expect, which gives you an idea what kind of motels I look for. I got in late the day I arrived and stayed at Rodeway for an anticipated 1 night stay. after seeing the room and enjoying a good nights sleep. I decided to stay the entire 2 week trip and not move the next day. They ended up matching what Inn Town Suites was offering by the week, with a nicer room. I have read some of the other reviews, and I think that some of them were wrote when the motel was an Econologe. I found that the rooms were updated and had more amenities than most budget type motels. I will be back to stay again. I am not affiliated with any person at this location.
Sure it was inexpensive. I should have guessed. But. The woman at the front desk checked me in while her children ran around screaming. She asked my name while holding my ID, asked what room type I wanted after hearing I had made a reservation, and asked smoking or non -- even though I had a reservation. No garbage can in the room. Bathroom light only half worked. Toilet didn't flush. TV only showed a partial picture. Water damage Unrepaired throughout the ceiling. Only a half bottle (AKA "used") of shampoo in the bathroom. No conditioner or lotion. Luckily the soap was wrapped. Had I not arrived late and needed a place to sleep for a few hours I would have demanded my card not be charged. Corporate complaints will be filed. **scoured the linens and saw no signs of hair. I praying they're safe to use. Like I said. I've been traveling all day and just need a quick rest. Let's hope I can get it.
The night clerk was extremely rude, only the night window was open. The room was clean but badly in need of repair in various areas. The breakfast selections were very limited and not very well stocked. The morning clerk was a little friendlier than the night man but still not up to good customer service.
This has to be the worst Econo Lodge in Alabama. To say it is a dump would be an insult to all of the hard working sanitation workers in America. The first room they gave me was filthy! The bathroom ceilings were falling down. The towels had not been changes in a LOOOONG time! They had caught the crap that had dripped from the ceiling and were molding. The floors had not been vacuumed. The A/C did not blow cold. On and on I could go! The second room they gave me was just a little better. The ceiling was not falling in. The floors had not been vacuumed - there was food crumbs on the carpet. I don't know if they have clean towels - THERE WERE NO TOWELS! They vacuumed the floor and promised fresh towels. I left for my appointment and came back at 10:00 pm. (4 hours later) THE DOOR WAS OPEN - AND STILL NO TOWELS!! Glad I took my belongings with me!. Go to complain (and try to get a refund) and the owner-manager-person in charge was gone. "He will back at 12:00" was all I got. I am now across the street in a very nice Days Inn, looking forward to a good nights sleep. If I do not get a refund from Econo - I will make it my lifes work to tell the world about this [--].
This hotel is not bad considering what you pay. It is not the best, but not the worst. Rooms were clean except the shower head. The shower head had black mold all over it. The pool was very small. Other than that there were no real problems. Rooms have a Micro/Fridge in them.
At only $55 a night, it was priced attractively, but you get what you pay for. The room, while clean, was dated and in need of repair (damage to walls, leaky toilet, poor quality image on old TV, non functional light fixture). Water pressure and temperature in the shower was below average. Room lacked many basic amenities such as alarm clock, coffee maker, stationary and toiletries. Service was poor, I had to wait 10 minutes to get a receipt printed upon check out, this after twice going into the lobby to find it manned by a 5 year old who promised to go find her mommy for me. The location is less than stellar, as it is far from both downtown and from the Air Force base, and while I did not experience any security problems, did not feel especially safe.
