am writing to formally express my significant disappointment with the service I received during my recent stay at your hotel from 9/10/25 to 9/13/25 in room numbers 402 & 406. My experience was well below the standard I expected from a hotel of your reputation, and I wish to bring several issues to your attention. I selected your hotel because of the Marriott brand. This trip was important to me and my family as we were in Montgomery to attend my son's graduation for Air Force Officer Training School. The day we arrived,and when we went to our room and as soon as we opened the door, the smell of chlorine/bleach was overpowering. My wife's eyes started to water immediately as it was very strong. Both rooms had the overpowering smell. We made a comment to the front desk which was dismissed. We turned on the vents and left the property for a couple hours to attend family event at Maxwell AFB. When we returned, we noticed construction workers openly drinking alcohol in the parking lot. We went upstairs to the room and the smell had not gone away. These are the conditions we found in the room: 1. The bathroom was not fully clean. 2. The toilet was rocking back and forth when you sat on it. 3. Mold and mildew in the shower corners. 4. Wall tiles missing by the shower. 5. Wallpaper pealing off walls. 6. The shower pan had hallow spots underneath and when I walked on it, it felt like you tilted to one side almost losing your balance. 7. Chemical bottles with no labels

Check in was quick and pleasant - Very nice young man desk clerk. There was a very strong mildew smell outside the front doors that seemed to carry inside a little bit. The room was nice and comfortable but there was a thumping noise every 5-10 seconds - no exaggeration - all night long, actually the whole time we were in the room. It seemed to be coming from somewhere in the ceiling. We were on the top floor at the end of the hallway. I mentioned it to the desk clerk (different than check in clerk) and all I got was "Oh, I'm sorry." At breakfast the waffle batter was empty for a very long time - I'm not sure what happened there..

We were woken up at 1:30am with the people above in room 325 stomping across the floor from a dead sleep. The only reason I bring this up is that this probably didn't use to be a Fairfield Inn, just got rebadged from a cheaper hotel and upgraded bedding and fixtures, but failed to upgrade the essentials, quiet rooms. If you're looking fir a quiet stay, keep looking, this hotel is not it.

Our only complaint, they put us in a handicap room which was ok but the king sized bed was about 1 ft off the floor. The bed was uncomfortable, and so close to the floor it was a problem getting up because it was low and me on dialysis and getting older, it made it hard for me to get up.

We were upset to find black mold in the shower. It was not visible from the outside. Once in the shower, I noticed it. We told the front desk upon check out. They only offered an apology and asked if they could give us a couple of bottles of water for our departure.

The pictures online look good, however the room was not. The shower had thick black mold on the inside around the calking. It ran the length of the shower and it appeared that the shower had not been cleaned or had stains in the back. One of the light bulbs was blown on the nightstand. Upon leaving, the host apologized for the incident and told us that they would definitely take care of it. They did not offer any restitution in place of the inconvenience or safety concern. He only asked if we would like a couple of bottles of water for our departure.

Everything about my stay was great but the shower was horrible. It appears that they have updated some parts of the hotel recently so the shower head came as a surprise. I honestly have never seen one that old in any hotel/motel that I have stayed in and I travel frequently for work.

The front desk area looks nice. The room smelled musty. The mattress protector was ripped. Appeared to be mostly clean. I’ve stayed at the Hampton next to this hotel and it was nicer. The employees were very nice as most hotel employees are. It was ok but I’ll stay next door next time or try a different one all together.

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel while attending a Warrant Officer graduation for the Air Force, and GM Thigpen made our experience truly exceptional. Due to a delayed flight, we had to extend our stay on very short notice. GM Thigpen went above and beyond to accommodate us quickly and efficiently, ensuring we were well taken care of. Her professionalism, kindness, and dedication to guest satisfaction really stood out. Thanks to her, what could have been a stressful situation turned into a seamless and pleasant experience. I highly recommend this hotel—not only for its amenities, but especially for the incredible service provided by GM Thigpen and her team.
