On a road trip with family from Florida to Texas and we came across this hotel. The staff was very friendly and we were lucky enough to get one of the last rooms for the night. Beds were comfortable, shower has good pressure and free breakfast was good. The place was clean some areas like the bathroom tile needed a little fixing but that's about it and very minor. Would definitely stay there again.
All inside corridors. Spotlessly clean room with fridge & microwave, Sleeper sofa, coffee table, chair, lamp, + very comfortable king bed. I was surprised that bar soap was all that was supplied for bathing. No shower gel. They did have shampoo and conditioner. Room was pitch dark and so nice and quiet. Slept great. Breakfast included choice of make-your-own regular or strawberry waffles, plus there boiled eggs, regular & cheese grits, gravy, sausage, biscuits, cereal, & much more. Would definitely stay here again. Checked in late, so didn't let management know, but our TV receptions was very poor & the picture kept disintegrating into pixels. Wifi was the slowest I've ever experienced in a nice place like this. It was stormy, so that could have been a factor in both cases.
I stayed here with my family last night. Front desk person was fast and very friendly. The lobby area was okay, but the room (#217) looked old and poorly maintained. The cortins were torn. The mattress was not in optimal condition and the carpet felt damp. I will not come back.
Stayed here enroute home from Dallas. Place is kind of secluded away from highway, nice and quiet and beds comfortable. AC not noisy and virtually no outside noise. TV was kind of flakey as far as tuning channels, had to input either 1 or 2 then dash and then channel # also the guide was off on a few channels. Breakfast was very good and lady attending to it very friendly would definitely stay here again
Great check-in. The clerk was very nice and told us all the great amenities. Went to room and found shower curtain ripped at the top. Mold in the corners of the bathroom floors and shower. The sheet rock was gone around some of the plug-ins. The lamps had holes in the shades and the frames were bent. Then when I went down to front desk to get clean towels, I had to bring dirty to exchange. I would get less towels and face cloths than I brought. The guy that worked the 11pm to 7am was very rude. Told me they were out of towels and face cloths. So next morning went to front desk and that morning clerk gave me plenty. The breakfast, they had a lot to chose from. However some of the appliances were broken. The breakfast tasted bad. Will not stay again. Paid a good chuck of money for a bad experience.
First the pros: the location was convenient, with easy access to I-10 and many restaurants within minutes. The pool area was nicely landscaped and the breakfast room was attractive with landscaping outside the windows that hid a fence. Our king sized bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have a second TV in the sitting room section, as the big TV could not be seen from the couch or chair. The breakfast selection was OK and I liked having paper plates instead of styrofoam. Unfortunately, there were several cons. Our room overlooked the concrete canopy over the entrance, which blocked most of the light from coming in the window. It's not like the hotel was completely booked, because I would think they would not assign the few rooms which had this problem unless they had no choice. Not ALL the light was blocked though, as an outdoor light from the Quality Inn next door literally blinded me when returning from the bathroom in the dark. Yes, we could have shut the curtains, but I like to know when it's morning and have always disliked room darkening shades and curtains. The carpet was quite stained and the desk chair could not be raised or lowered. We were only given one packet of regular coffee (good for 1 cup) and one decaf, instead of the usual 2 of each. All in all, not a bad hotel, but not as nice as many of the other Choice Hotels where we have stayed.
The facility is nice and clean. Greeted nicely by staff. Great for all the family. Easy to get to from I-10. Great breakfast bar, however, if your a heart healthy patron, it doesn't have alot to select.
Great rate. Room was wonderful. Internet was fast. Exercise room was is okay but not the best. Pool is outside and not the season for it. Breakfast is normal. Everything was good except for people slamming doors.
While the hotel itself seems clean and well furnished, there were issues. First, there was mold in the air conditioner. Second, the shower, which was disabled accessible, ran out to the sink area and made a huge slippery mess. Third, the pullout couch really couldn't be used as a couch. You just sank into a hole. Also, there is limited parking near the building.
We stayed here over night on the way to the coast. It was just fine. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. For that, I'd give it a 5. The bad? The bed was pretty uncomfortable, there were some minor cleanliness issues, like mould around the soap holder, and the sofa bed was still covered in plastic. At 3 in the morning, with a loudly snoring spouse, I thought I had no sheets or blankets, so I didn't try to use it. Breakfast was ok, but free, so I can't complain. Overall, a decent place, but pretty forgettable.
