Milan Marriott Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

I booked 2 rooms for me and my brother the night of December 27th, as we had tickets to go and watch out team Milan playing against Inter... The hotel is very nice, my room 6023 was quite large and comfortable. The property has an indor garage at 15 €/night. The overall stay was good, except for the bad customer service and bad discussion I had the following morning: as Platinum member I am eligible for free breakfast for me and my partner...well since I didn't eat my breakfast I expected to pass my coupons to my brother and his girlfriend; this is not a big request although I know that only the Platinum member has the right for a free breakfast! So I want to remind Miss Tatyana working at the reception that in 2017 I spent over 140 nights between Marriott and SPG, so I know the rules quite well. Never happened to me to argue for a free breakfast and having a receptionist so rude. It is a shame that people working in such properties have no training and no idea of what hospitality and customer relationship are. I had to pay for 2 breafasts (32 €), but this hotel won't see me again! Maybe they lost more than me!?
Hotel is needing an upgrade specially in the bathrooms, the old bathtubs may be dangerous. The breakfast was good, the Club Lounge was poor, staff not very friendly in the evening. One day it was unattended.
This is a return stay at the hotel after 3 years and I am delighted that service was still excellent. Check in was a breeze, concierge was knowledgeable and helpful. Housekeeping staff are efficient and breakfast staff was very attentive. I like that the hotel is within walking distance to the metro and several cafes and restaurants. Hotel is clean and well maintained. My only complaint - the old fashion European deco.
Hotel has all the basic necessities. Free breakfast is provided for Marriott Elite members, and the selection was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The downside is the location. It is a bit too far away from the major attractions — Duomo, the Castle, etc. There are no major shops or restaurants in walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is located in a residential area. The room was rather dark, especially the bathroom. There were not enough user accessible electrical outlets.
Spacious and clean. Not only the rooms but the entire hotel sparkled. You can tell that the General Manager runs a tight ship and keeps things fabulous. Staff was helpful and the heated bathroom floors were a wonderful treat for my tired tourist feet!
Well, most of the Marriotts of this world are the Lee Majors amongst the hotels. Had their best time in the 80s but are still alive. Clean and well organized rooms, friendly staff, a nice gym and a cosy bar, but the overall impression is a bit fallen out of time, especially when you enter the lobby. Prices are upper middle budget.
The Milan Marriott offers a comfortable business class travel experience. Located in a quiet neighborhood west of the center city, the rooms are spacious and offer the usual amenities. There is easy access to the local transit system, many fine restaurants and the neighborhood is friendly and well-heeled. The bar in the evening is lively and the cocktaiks well presented. Food options are predictable but comfortable to the less adventerous.
We stayed at this property for a total of 5 nights. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and had excellent service. We used the concierge service many times, and they did not disappoint. The location is not central to the Doumo, but taking the Metro from the Wagner station (about a 15 minute walk) was NOT difficult. The neighborhood was upscale and safe. A Essalung grocery store was right across the street.
Sorry for the title, but seriously, Marriott, what WTF? While staff is super friendly and super helpful, especially concierge guys and at the kitchen, but what's up with the not having kettle or coffee maker in the room? Even Fairfield inn has it available free of charge (including coffee and tea). I understand it's an old building, and an outdated hotel, which needs remodeling, although it has its own charm, but I expect Marriott in Orlando, Moscow, Frankfurt or Milan be the same. And things like this just ruin it. I took my family with me on my last trip. I needed to warm-up milk, water and some other baby food for my baby daughter and had to ask all the time for hot water. What is cheaper, to have kettle in the room or have your staff running all the time? Dear Milan Marriott management, I hope you read this review and will take a note of it. And please check other reviews on TripAdvisor or even google to see what people are saying about it. There are some thing you really have to take care of.
The room is spacious and clean but looks slightly dated. However the bed is as usual very comfortable with Marriott hotel chain standard around the world. The only issue I have is they do not have air conditioner during winter and it is very warm in the room. I have to ask for a fan so that it is not so stuffy as I do not want to open the window. The hotel is located near many restaurants and there is a huge supermarket just opposite the hotel. It is also 10mins walk to the subway which is very convenient. Overall a comfortable hotel to stay in.
