I’m writing this review with mixed feelings. The initial impression when you get to the lobby is WOW! but then there are details that made me feel not completely satisfied of the hotel. There is nothing specific bad that I can say about the hotel, is the whole impression that make me feel like if it was an excellent hotel but now is sort of decadent. Also the staff, they are absolutely professional but as if they have to be. The room is spacious and comfortable, one of the best beds I have ever slept in. But everything was old fashioned and specifically the wardrobe was in a terrible condition. All in all not a bad experience, but not the standard I would expect from a Marriott.
I recently stayed one night at the Milan Marriott Hotel while in the area on a business trip. I was originally going to stay near Malpensa airport, but since I had some more time to see Milan and my flight wasn't until the afternoon, I decided to try staying in Milan. And I was quite surprised to see the rate for this Milan Marriott quite good, especially considering the high hotel rates in Milan. And I am a Titanium Elite BonVoy member, so I tend to only choose Marriott branded properties. The hotel is not located in the true city center, but just outside and in more of a residential part of town. But I found the location quite good. It was easy to find the hotel from the highway, and there was a subway station about a 5-10 walk away that was only 6 stops to the Duomo in Milan. I used the hotel's parking garage, which was easy to use and find parking and cost about 15 Euro for the night, which is pretty reasonable for Milan. The hotel is not necessarily that old but really has the feel of old school Italian charm. I totally get that the decor is not for everyone. I've seen a lot of other reviews that say the hotel is worn and tired and in need of an upgrade. And there are a few areas around the edges like ripped/torn carpet and scuffs and scrapes in the hallways that could use a repair. But I was really digging the old school decor and the vibe of the hotel. Everything is super clean and the staff were fantastic. I was upgraded to a junior suite on the club floor and it was a very good size with a large sitting area and big king size bed. (One thing to note is that the club room is closed on the weekends so I didn't really get to experience it. And honestly the room was very small, so not sure how good it would be). The in-room wifi worked great and there were plenty of power outlets. I found the bed super comfortable. And the A/C worked well in the room which is a rarity in Italy! The bathroom was large and ornate and there was a big Jacuzzi soaking tub. One weird thing was the shower. It was the strangest hotel shower. It was this tiny pod shower thing with hundreds of jets (which I couldn't get working) and only a handheld shower head. It was fine, but was just WEIRD. In the morning I had breakfast in the main restaurant and it was fine. It wasn't anything fantastic, but had all of the basics, and everything seemed fresh. The staff was very friendly in the breakfast area, and they kept things clean and tidy. Overall, I have to say that despite the old school nature of the hotel, I really liked it and would highly recommend this hotel especially at the price paid!!
Good hotel with Big grocery stall just opposite. The famous Sforza Castle is within 15 mins of walk. Duomo di Milano and Galleria II is within 7 train stops like 20 mins away. The issue is walking to the nearest train station is 10mins.
Very good massive buffet breakfast and spacious and clean rooms. Very good service at the hotel with excellent and well educated staff. Location of the hotel is just off Milan centre and has to use the Underground train, taxi or bus to go to the centre, other wise is an excellent hotel.
The Airconditioner started leaking water and nearly flooded the room at 01:00 in the morning, ceiling also full of water, causing the electricity to trip. The management was really not too concerned and offered us 50 points compensation
I would expect more from a Marriott hotel. The room has a very old style, however everything was very clean. The hall is beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. Very old way to manage guest's wi-fi.
Jose was very friendly and patient with me as I was irritated by the administration as I was traveling with a minor. The room and the bathroom were big enough. The entire hotel needs renovation to be in par with the global Marriott standards. The breakfast was good but the kitchen staff could be neater and wipe the serving stations frequently after people dish up. The buffet se up is also clumsy and makes it difficult to dish up.
Stayed two nights, with family. Fine hotel in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Bonvoy status recognized with breakfast (which was excellent). Friendly staff, at both reception and breakfast. Hotel is within walking distance to several restaurants. It's a taxi ride away from the Duomo, Galleria, etc., but nothing unmanageable. The streets around the hotel were pleasant and walkable. A grocery store is across the road and a small children's playground is in the park behind the hotel. Did not eat in the hotel restaurant except for breakfast.
The hotel is getting old. It is not expected like the Marriott I know. The breakfast is OK and the personal is very friendly but the rooms are very dirty and should be cleaned completely or renewed. It is not far to the city center and for a taxi you should pay only €10. Opposite of the hotel is a nice supermarket.
This property is up for major renovation! Please make the rooms bit lighter and remove those hideous and uncomfortable French sofas. Front desk staff very nice, pleasant, and professional. Restaurant serves good options for breakfast; and the bar…. unless you have all day with nothing to do otherwise find other place to eat or drink. The wait staff takes their sweet time and each time you approach them the answer is ‘I will be with you in few minutes’…. Would not recommend and would not stay here again while in Milan.
