Fairfield Inn in Odessa, TX is not customer friendly. I am a Marriott Silver Elite member having recently changed for the Holiday Inn chain. I had made a reservation at the Fairfield Inn and after calling them only to find out that their television provider would not be broadcasting the MLB playoffs I told their operator that I’d need to cancel the reservation and stay elsewhere. It’s probably my fault that I didn’t get a cancellation number. Weeks later I saw on my CC bill a charge for $280.60. I thought that if I called and discussed the situation with them they might be accommodating seeing as I’d already had additional reservations for their location next week. No such luck. There are many other hotels in the Odessa area, some being Marriott affiliates. My opinion is to avoid the Fairfield Inn because if there ever is an issue they will not Work with you.
I have stayed at this Fairfield Inn a few times, for business. It is one of the most reasonably-priced hotels in Odessa and provides the same (or higher) level of quality as the other hotels in the area. The accommodations are comfortable, the complementary breakfast is sufficient and the staff is very pleasant. This hotel is smaller than the newer hotels in the area so there is no bar or lounge area. That is not a deal-breaker for me.
Walked in at 6 PM and had to wait 10 minutes for a sales rep to check me in to my room. Sign on the counter said we are helping other guests. I also booked my room 1 month in advance and requested first floor as a Gold Member and when I got my room they gave me third floor. Seriously? Miserable experience.
This Fairfield will make you fall in love with the brand -- and that's saying a lot because Marriott offers so many varied choices. For starters, the Marriott Rewards upgrade was greatly appreciated. Facility is spotless from top to bottom and every staffer looks more than happy to be there, which makes guests feel the same. Windows open for a breeze, too! Don't miss this wonderful hotel!
What a pleasure it was to spend several days at this facility! The employees are all terrific, housekeeping, front desk, and especially the breakfast room supervisor. All of my needs were met, and the rooms were spotless. Great location, and fitness room! Well done folks!
I stayed for several days last month and really liked the hotel and the staff. The people behind the desk were great and Donna, who runs the breakfast room was outstanding. However I looked for the general manager several times and he/she was nowhere to be found. This is very unusual for a Marriott property, and I have stayed in many. The problem was no water in the gym. There had been water there but the machine was taken out because it smelled bad and not cleaned and replaced. Then there was the broken refrigerator in the breakfast room that had been broken for a while and not repaired/replaced. The staff did a great job considering there was no supervisor.
I liked the room well enough. It was updated, clean and the road noise was reasonable. I couldn't really hear people in the rooms next to me. Room was well equipped with reasonable number of outlets, luggage stand, iron, , etc. Shower was hot, pressure okay, amenities good. Wifi was sluggish around 8pm, otherwise good. Elevators placed well, plenty of parking. All Fairfields now ask you to log into your own Netflix/Crackle/etc accounts. No. I'm not providing my account info to Marriott. Like ever. The bed. It was awful. It was like sleeping on an Amazon box filled with telephone books. The pillows were like rolls of quarters -- hard, and I don't think they were just happy to see me. Breakfast was *meh*. Plenty of pre-made frozen stuff, not much fresh. Coffee was good though. And - really? Fox News first thing in the morning? During breakfast??? WHY??? It's not even news, it's entertainment for angry people. I asked to change the station. I picked vintage cartoons. The kids eating breakfast were happier and so was I.
The room was very clean and the staff was very welcoming! Had an amazing time spending the weekend with my friends. There is a pokèstop and playing from my room was a plus. That is one of the reasons I picked this hotel. I Would definitely go back again.
We were passing through here on our way to Denton. A great place to stay. Counter staff enormously friendly, hotel clean and with a fresh/new decoration. Rooms quiet, nicely furnished. Clean bathrooms, comfortable beds. Breakfast items the next day were standard fare but well presented. The lady at the breakfast was extremely nice! I'd stay here again!
