I thought the hotel was very nice. We had a great patio although some shade blockers would help out there during the summer time. Room was clean. Hotel was clean. Great picture ops. Great location. I booked on Airbnb and unfortunately there are many hidden fees that should be included in the Airbnb booking instead of separate when you get there. It turned out not to be a great deal .
Very good hotel Clean room and comfortable Good room service and cleaning Breakfast must be improved in quality and quantity of food and beverages Many times have problems with door card but the personal helped me very much and fast Absolutely recommended
The hotel is in a great location but the rooms are super small. The President Villa Hotel is right next to the President Hotel so my recommendation is to stay in the main building President Hotel. I've stayed in both buildings now and the main building is way better and newer feeling.
For the price paid, this is a very good hotel. The location is excellent as you are in walking distance to everything. The person that checked us in was very nice and had a great personality. They will give each adult a drink coupon for each night. The liquor is a brand you never heard of, but hey, it's complimentary. The bartender Mike can make a simple Cuba Libre, even with the well rum, taste like the best one you ever had with his lemon/lime infusion. The room was neat and the bed and pillows were better than average. The bathroom could use a bit of a makeover as the tile in the shower was cracked and needs to redone, the door was beaten up and they don't give you enough towels or soaps, but these were not huge issues and we made the best of it. We saw the nice room service person the next day and she got us extra towels and shampoo. The a/c worked great and it was very quiet. Our room faced the street and there is noise at night, but my wife and I actually like that because it makes us feel like we are in the action of the city. I'm sure they have rooms that are quieter, so if that is an issue for you, I would mention it at check-in. Again, you can walk to dozens of restaurants, the beach, and tons of other places. We took a yoga class on 4th street I believe. South Beach has a vibe and the President Hotel gives you a chance to experience everything. There is a complimentary breakfast that had scrambled eggs, sausage, a waffle maker, cereal, toast, bagels, muffins, coffee, juice, and fruit. Nothing spectacular, but certainly good enough to start your day off right. There is no on-site restaurant, so if you want a big fancy breakfast you will need to go elsewhere. Again, for the price you will pay this is an above average hotel, we have stayed in many of the older places on South Beach and this ranks right up there with the best of the art-deco style older hotels. If however, you are a very particular kind of person and want to complain about every little thing, I suggest you spend 2 or 5 times the amount and go somewhere fancy and be catered to. We, however, like the President just the way it is.
Stayed here for 3 nights in September 2018. Hotel in a great location for Ocean Drive and the Beach, Just a short walk from Collins Avenue. The rooms were comfortable, although the bathroom was on the small side, and the floor in the bedroom was in need of a mop and dry as our feet got dirty quick when bare footed. We were welcomed with a cocktail drink each on arrival. The staff here are very friendly and helpful, they helped us with a tour problem when the bus did not arrive to pick us up at the hotel. Breakfast was also included which was ok, however one of the days there some of the hotel guests were very rude at breakfast, pushing in and really making a mess of the breakfast area, and taking 3 and 4 apples and bananas each, not good. Also if you are on an early trip the hot water for the shower is unavailable until 6.30 ish, we had cold water washes on one morning as a coach was picking us up at 6.45 a.m. Not ideal. All in all the hotel was great for the price and in a great location.
This hotel is located in a very good location; however there are several concerns to know in advance prior placing a reservation..... the housekeeping service is not good, given that they only make the bed and change towels. The floor etc. is not cleaned on a daily basis. The manager of this hotel has a very inadequate behavior. A late check out was allowed by her (paid of course), but on the check out day she told me face to face that she never offered that. Moreover, 2 staff members at the front desk called me a "liar" prior my discussion with the manager. The 3 of them were very rude. I even requested them to look at the cameras to retrieve all the discussion, but they said that they did not care about me. This is only the summary of a very rude and unprofessional behavior. In addition, there are only few staff members.... so if you need anything, forget it.... no employees to help you, mainly after 20:00. The blackout curtain does not help for a good sleep. the sunshine wakes you up everyday. Finally, no bar or restaurant service is available after 22:00.
Stayed for 2 nights before travelling onto the Cayman Islands. The President Villas are part of the President Hotel but in a separate building across a small alleyway. The room itself once inside was beautifully decorated, spacious with 2 double beds and clean. The issue with these rooms is firstly the adjacent construction and secondly the noise from the road. Our room looked directly into a building site (within 2 feet of the window) which itself wasn’t the end of the world but the night security lights were very bright and shone into our room despite black out blinds- not good at all. The noise from the road coming down the alley was horrendous and completely destroyed any hope of a decent nights sleep (and it was only a Tuesday night). Not good after a transatlantic flight. For this reason I would not recommend staying in these rooms. The staff though were fantastic and moved us up into the main hotel on the fourth floor overlooking the courtyard for our second night. Far better experience and very quiet. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the President Hotel is lovely and would stay again. Welcome drink on arrival. Didn’t eat breakfast but looked okay.
Great staff and location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a large group, 25 in all. Very organized and helpful with everything. Hotel was extremely clean! Revived drink coupons when we checked in and breakfast was good too
Here is the scoop: I arrived in Miami with my husband early in the A.M. after a terrible cruise experience, and we were both exhausted and feeling under the weather. We hoped to check in early to our hotel to relax the day away and recharge. When we inquired about how early we could possibly get to our rooms, the front clerk (Noremist) said she would call us as soon as a room was ready for us. After exploring Miami a little bit we came back to the hotel - unfortunately a room still wasn't available, so we lounged in the reception seating area for about 15 minutes until Noremist told us a room was ready for us. During our wait time, the bell-man gave us the wifi password to keep us entertained. Very sweet gesture. The early check-in was SUCH a relief! I felt bad because I thought we were making her job more difficult/causing her a headache with our special request. Nevertheless, she was friendly and helpful and understanding. She paid me a sweet compliment at the desk, was extremely efficient and informative, and at the end of our check-in put us in a BEAUTIFUL suite - one of the nicest in the entire hotel!! I was floored at her kindness. Noremist went above and beyond for us and worked with our situation to provide the best service possible. We spent the whole day relaxing in our gorgeous room and it was just what we needed after our crazy weekend. I so appreciated the extra efforts and for Noremist blessing us with the most stunning accommodations and I want her to know this. Thank you also to the bell-man for looking after our luggage for the few hours we were out and about until our early check-in. The hotel is stunning, modern, clean, and very comfortable. The staff are professional and kind. The breakfast is yummy and the cafe/bar area is very appealing. The hotel is very close to Miami beach (a short walk) and within 5 minutes of countless restaurants, bars, and cafes. It is relatively close to the cruise ship terminals as well, so if you are going or coming from a cruise I would definitely recommend coming to this hotel. There is free wifi, complementary drinks upon check-in, A/C, and it is QUIET. In its busy location, I found this to be a major plus. The top floor allows a sneak peek at the ocean if you are at the back of the hotel. 10/10 experience. If you are looking for a hotel in Miami that you can be assured will be comfortable, clean, and relaxing, stay at the President Hotel! You won't be disappointed :)
We stayed four nights before our cruise. It's in a perfect location in the Art Deco area of South Beach. It's one block off Ocean Drive which has some great restaurants close by. We loved Madero for their steaks. The restaurants on Espanola are within walking distance. We were in the Villas which is a separate building next door to the lobby. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Noremise, who works the front desk, was a delight and very helpful.
