Hotel St. Michel

3.5 out of 5.0

Only stayed one night. Came into Miami on the red eye from San Francisco. Staff was nice to accommodate me with the first cleaned up room so I could check in very early, get a cat nap and shower before my work day. 90 year old elevator was a hoot, but needed the staff to operate. Great Italian restaurant and bar sharing the ground floor.

We really enjoyed our 2 days at the St.Michel. It is conveniently located near great restaurants and shopping on Miracle Mile, etc. Room was small and without much storage, but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Just don't expect modern interiors, this is vintage. There's a new restaurant in the same building that looked very popular: Zucca

Convenient drive to Key Biscayne. Only seating in room is 1 desk chair. Hotel is non-smoking but had to pass through smokers who congregated outside front door. Paid parking is limited. Had to park on street in front of hotel one night because nothing available for guests. Hotel advertises breakfast for a surcharge but it was not available when we asked. Be prepared to walk the stairs unless you can find someone to operate the elevator.

I was 100% accommodated and made to feel welcome and comfortable.

Simple and old fashioned. Very clean, with lots of walkable restaurants. If the bathrooms were updated I would rate it higher. Also, the A/C blows directly onto the head of the bed, which I found less than desirable. This hotel is definitely a walk down memory lane in terms of furnishings. I love that part

The staff was the highlight of the hotel. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel has European charm but there was some construction which made it a little uncomfortable.

I cannot understand how someone rates this hotel with 3 stars. The room conditions and furniture seems like the hotel has not been renovated in 50 years.

This place is a real GEM, authentic european style. Best value in Coral Gables.

This is the second time we've stayed here. It is comfortable and has charming antiques. Robert, at the front desk, was funny and helpful. The room we had was large and everything worked well, airconditioning, fans, TV, etc. The furnishings are old fashioned. The bathroom is old-fashioned. On the downside, the lighting in the bathroom was dim, there was no make-up mirror, the hotel-provided shampoo etc was not of good quality. There was no coffee maker in the room. There is breakfast downstairs, however. We woud stay there again, overall, it's a great and affordable hotel.

Loved the quaint feeling. Service was good, there was even a filled ice- bucket every night. Location was perfect! Walking distance to really nice restaurants and a wonderful Peruvian- fusion restaurant on the first floor. Parking was convenient, while charged separately. I will definitely go back there next time!

I picked this hotel because it was walking distance from my meeting location. The reviews were good - boutique hotel with lots of antiques , European charm etc. The reality was the hotel is stuck in the 1920s and it smelled old and musty. It has only one elevator and you need to wait for an attendant to work the elevator to go up and down. I expected the room to be small, but this made rooms at a Paris hotel look large. The mattress had not been replaced in years and the bath tub was dirty.

On my way through Southern Florida, found this little Gem. Small, clean, quaint with great service. Great if you're looking for some character...not just another boring hotel room...very B & B-like!

it was a nice hotel with lots of old Florida charm. The staff were great and I will stay there again.

Nice hotel. friendly staff. I visited our son at university of Miami

Beautiful old hotel with outstanding service. If you want a McHotel with a free waffle in the morning, this is not your place. If you want old world charm, true service, and a great location for a fraction of what it costs down the street, then this is your place. We stayed here on the way back from our honeymoon cruise and we loved it. It is walking distance from over a dozen fantastic restaurants, though the Peruvian restaurant in the lobby is amazing if you like ceviche. The elevator is not self-service and has an operator. In many ways, this felt like being in a bed and breakfast, but grander. About a 15 minute ride from the port and 10 from the airport.

Staff excellent and helpful, room very comfortable, location superb.

Very nice. The hotel is in the middle of coral gables. The staff was attentive and very helpful. The rooms were clean and very quaint. Definitely a wonderful little boutique hotel, especially in modern glitzy Miami.

We grew up in Miami. Stayed here out of nostalgia. We went to a second date more than 30 years a go in this hotel. Old French style charming hotel. Floors very old looking. Location great. Staff friendly and helpful. Great area and everything needed close by. We liked it.

I went to Miami to visit my son in UM, and stayed in this hotel for three nights. It is a modern luxury hotel with good value. To get an A grade from my son, it truly must be of great quality.

The one complaint I have is their shower head, which is not that good and really rains the experience, but good stuff and nice decor
