My wife and I stayed for three days at Fisher Island Resort and Spa. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is a beautiful property and the island provides great walking and running courses. We loved our suite with a hot tub outside. The food was amazing! We ate at all three restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed all of the food. We also enjoyed the beach and the beach service was excellent. The only downside to the resort is that it is very expensive even in reference to other 5 star resorts.
I had a gift certificate someone gave me to go an enjoy a day at the spa. First, booking an appointment was a total headache! I tried calling several times but no one answered the phone that was written on the certificate which was 305.535.6031. I even left a voice message but again no one called me back. Then, I went online and found the direct line of the hotel so I called to see if some one could transfer me to the spa but again no one did. After a few hours of trying to get in contact finally a woman answered and there I realize this was just staring. The person who answered the phone had no idea of anything and by this I mean every time asked her something she replied "let me ask" then she put me on hold for a while. let me tell you this person was lucky that I've so much patience otherwise I would've went nuts!. Finally, I was able to book my appointment! please be aware that this was my first time ever!!! going to this place meaning that I've no idea of how things are manage there so I asked this woman the usual things... can I go earlier?, can I stay after the treatment and enjoy the facilities?, how long before the treatment I'm supposed to get there ?... this person told me don't worry WE WOULD CALL YOU A DAY BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT BECAUSE YOU NEED TO GET "CLEARANCE TO ENTER THE ISLAND" as I said I've never been to this place so I'd no idea of this. Long story short I've to reschedule my appointment the first time for the following week and so the day I actually had my appointment I realize no one had call me for the "clearance" I called many times!! even the main line of the hotel but no one answer! 20 minutes after the actual appointment time I got a call it was a women (which I believe it was the same one who booked my appointment) asking me if I was going I told her I've been trying to get in contact but no one answered! so I guest I'm not going! then she was like: "oh! let me ask my manager because you have to pay" to what I reply " I've a gift certificate so I don't think so" this woman put me on hold for so long that even my husband was getting angry? what type of customer service this is? so when this lady finally came back to the line told me that was fine that I wasn't going to be able to use this certificate. To be honest I didn't care anymore it was just to much stress when it should be something different is a SPA isn't it?. Anyway just to make sure I wasn't crazy I asked a final question "Lady, wasn't I suppose to get a clearance or something to be able to have my appointment" Funniest part! she said "oh! let me ask". her answer was that I was the one that was supposed to call them!! (when I was told a complete different thing when making the appointment). Can you imagine my being there and not being able to enter because of this wrong information!!!!! My opinion may not matter but being this place such a "thing" how come they have this miscommunication? people that doesn't have a clue of what their doing! and even worst Don't know any information about the place where they are working! I understand if you don't have the answer to something but every time I asked something they put me on hold for a long time and I just thing this isn't right!
So we visited Fishers Island , little did we know it was once a private island for the Vanderbilt's , very luxurious , you have to have reservations or invited to ride the ferry over , the pizza is awesome at Trattaoria, the most thin crust I have ever eaten , and @ 62 I have had a few slices in my day
There is no place like Fisher Island since I remember I we live there we always love it is the perfect place to be in your vacation lovely and private island with all the amenities we need you don't need to go out of the island for nothing you can relax perfectly there without worries is the place to be
A lovely place, stayed in a cottage, which was lovely, however, a little loud being right by what I believe were large kitchen ventilation fans. The cottage was tastefully renovated and clean and had a gear little hot tub outdoors. We loved visiting the birds at the aviary and the beach service was wonderful.
On my way to key west I stayed at the Fisher island club where I picked up boat to key west. Omar (best hotel every man ever) picked me up at the ferry dock took me through this island residence paradise. Small luxurious 15 room hotel spectacular in every way. Total and complete privacy with downtown Miami and south beach across the channel. This is Florida's best kept secret. Food and amenities abound in this ultra private preserve. Wish I could have stayed longer like a month!!!
This is a germ only 10'min from downtown Miami. You need to take a ferry boat to reach the island (2 min distance) and once you are there its a complete relaxing feeling. Its like you took a plane and left Miami but on the other hand is so close to everything. The service of the hotel is excellent. There are many sport activities to do (eg.tennis, golf). We loved the fact that we get our own cart to explore the island. The rooms are spacious and quite. We will definitely re-visit.
My wife and I had 2 nights in a courtyard villa with private jacuzzi, Villa Capri. It's hard to believe that busy chaotic Miami is so close. The hotel is fantastic, very high standards. The 7 minute ferry takes you to the island retreat with only 15 rooms of suites. Staff were excellent, very accommodating. We ate at Porto Cuervo and Garwood Lounge, fantastic meal at both. Recommend Fisher Island without hesitation.
Quite the experience. Remote, exclusive, private, and elegant. The first impression is a great one, with lots of anticipation, as the only access to the island is via ferry. Much security. The island is small, and intimate. Very sophisticated, and decidedly upscale. The hotel is exquisite. The accommodations are top shelf. The amenities are first-class, including golf, tennis, and beach. One of the best experiences of all times. Don't forget your wallet!!! All this said, lots of value.
My family and I stayed in suite 202 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our suite was spacious and had recently been redone. The island was very quiet and we enjoyed playing golf, swimming and eating at Renato's, Trattoria, the sushi beach bar as well as ordering in room service.
