The location is great! It is very basic, but that's all you really need. The ONLY thing I had issue with at all is that you could NOT adjust the thermostat - it was locked - and it was set way too cold, so I was freezing most of the time.

From what I thought, this was going to be perfect, it was priced reasonably, not far from the show I was attending and it was right on the beach. If I had read more of the reviews, I would not have picked this hotel because the reviews were VERY TRUE. When you enter the lobby, there is a very noticeable, strong air freshener smell. Once we were given the code to our room, we entered to find a spider in the bed. Ask the front desk person to change the pillow cases and he did right away. I understand, that things like that can happen, but the mildew smell made things worse. The room smelled wet, and the humidity was definitely high in the room even thought the air was set to 68. We didn't stay long when we first arrived, just long enough to shower and change clothes. But when we arrive back at the hotel that evening, the smell was unbearable. It was literally blowing from the air duct in the room, and that is mold. I am a licensed Mold Assessor, so I know exactly what I am talking about. There was no one when we returned in the evening, so I sent a message through Expedia (which is how I booked the room). No response until almost 1am, just to say that I can speak with someone the following morning. We barely slept. Literally sleeping with our faces under the covers due to the smell, even questioning ourselves if we thought it was safe to stay until the next day. We checked out once we woke up. I would not recommend staying here. Especially in room 102!

Clean spot to stay at and quiet. Staff are very accommodating. Walls are a bit thin and there’s no pool but the beach is literally right across the street. Would recommend.

My stay at Casa Ocean was due to a booking mix up at another hotel. I was able to get a last minute booking and was greeted warmly on my arrival. The location was excellent and an easy walk to restaurants, shops, cafes and the beach. The room was comfortable and had all I needed. I would stay there again.

Well, I’m old fashioned and I like a smiling face when I walk into my hotel. I rarely saw anybody. Also, it would have been nice if they had an ice machine and parking. Looks as if the hotel would validate your parking. Last time I was in Miami Beach the parking was free in front of the hotel. This time I got a ticket for $33. Smh. Door on the refrigerator should be changed to open in the opposite direction. 5 minute fix. For the money, it was a good place to crash out. Most likely won’t stay again. I need a little more fluff.

Lots of construction going on, smelled like STRONG chemicals and paint and there was brown paper all over the floors because of the construction, hammering and drilling early in the morning. rooms were nice, clean, and would probably be MUCH better after construction finishes. Staff was wonderful!

The walls are so thin you can even hear normal conversations from nearby rooms and phone rings. This goes far beyond normal guest noise and reflects a severe lack of soundproofing. The stairs and hallways were messy and covered with paper due to wall painting/renovation?/construction?, which was not disclosed at booking. On Monday morning, construction noises and workers slamming doors woke us up. The rooms do not have a safe. We were forced to carry passports and credit cards to the beach with no secure storage option. Additionally, on the second day when we returned from breakfast, we found out that our room’s door PIN code was changed without our notification. When we asked, we were told that they do this for “housekeeping access” knowing that we did not get any cleaning services as room cleaning was only offered every 3 days which is unreasonable for a beachfront property where guests track in sand daily. The trash was not even emptied unless requested… and the list goes on!

Great location, ideal for 1-2 people, walking distance from anything. However, I did not have any hot water during my stay, nor did my sister in her room. Hot water was only available in the middle of the night when no showers or laundry was running.
