Above average Holiday Inn - very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was not free ($8) but very good with lots of variety and the restaurant staff was extremely attentive and friendly. The only drawback to this hotel is the unusual small parking lot which makes it difficult to find a spot. Rooms are attractive & comfortable. I would stay here again.
The whole staff here is amazing. I will stay here anytime I am within 100 miles and need a place to stay. I honestly can say, The best two days we have ever spent in a hotel. Everyone went above and beyond.
If you don't stop here on your next planned or unplanned trip passing through or by or to Meridian Mississippi you will miss out on the friendliest staff I have ever met in any hotel. Let me go on to define the staff further; warm, welcoming and caring. While our stay was due to Irma, traveling from Florida, I can tell this is what you are going to get any day of the week when staying here. The rooms are very clean, housekeeping works very hard to keep it this way. There is a restaurant on site with a bar, the hotel also has a pool , fitness room.. There is a shuttle which you can take within a five mile radius of the hotel to other restaurants, or stores. I promise you will not be sorry you stayed here. The staff was swamped with guests needing on the spot rooms and I watched the GM Kennlyn and her staff work hard to meet each guests needs.
There aren't enough good words to say about this hotel. We are still on our evacuation odyssey and upon arrival we were given snack and water gift bags. Then awhile later we got another that included a WalMart gift card. Trying to plan for our return to Florida we asked to extend our stay and our request was granted. This is a very friendly hotel that we would love to stay at again under better circumstances of course. Thanks to everyone at this hotel!
Part of our plan for returning home after Hurricane Harvey was a stop for the night on the way and I could swear when I looked for a place in Meridian, I clicked on a Holiday Inn Express. When we arrived at the address on the reservation, it was a Holiday Inn. This is not a big deal except the Express properties offer a free breakfast and the regular Inns do not. But, I was fine with this place and I went in to check in only to find a gaggle of North Carolina law enforcement people gathered around the front desk waiting to be assigned rooms as they traveled to the Harvey affected areas. When I was finally given the nod to approach the desk, the lady was very nice and effusive in her thanks for my patience and also thanked me for my Gold status and my loyalty to the brand. She handed me a key packet and my wife and I secured a luggage cart, unloaded our vehicle and took the elevator to the 4th floor. We opened the door to find a nice king suite instead of the room I was anticipating. I honestly believed I had been ungraded by the lady at the desk because of my attitude and my loyalty and thought no more about it as we unpacked. We decided to have dinner in the hotel (as I rarely do) as kind of payback for the upgrade. After I signed the bill for the food to the room, I went to the front desk to make sure I had the proper credit card on file and the waitress from the restaurant walked up and asked me if I had put the correct room number on my ticket which I assured her I had. Well, after some pecking on computer keys by the hotel staff, they determined that I had been given the wrong key packet amid the confusion at check in. The manager on duty did the absolute right thing and told us to stay in the suite with their complements and we had a quite enjoyable night!
We're heading east toward Charleston, SC. This hotel was our first stopover. As is typical of a Holiday Inn, the service was great, the rooms were neat and clean, and the amenities were great. The hotel had a restaurant which served a great breakfast at a modest charge. The hostess asked if I wanted scrambled eggs and I requested hard fried which were presented quickly. So I bumped up the tip for her.
We went here after being offered a dirty room from a reservation at another hotel. They were most helpful at 2:30 AM. It wasn't cheap by any means but it was clean, safe and very accommodating. The young man at the desk made me feel so much better after our already crappy experience.
This hotel seemed fresh and new with a nicely updated lobby, full service restaurant and bar, and comfortable rooms. The front desk staffer who greeted me was very friendly and helpful. She advised me that the hotel offers a 24 hour shuttle to area attractions, and an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet for $7.99. They were also having an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner in the dining room. We had a couple minor issues with our room. Our room was a little too warm/humid and we were unable to adjust the temperature. Also, the shower handle was extremely difficult to turn on! We also had trouble connecting to Wi-Fi.
This was the first time staying in the newer Holiday Inn design and our family really enjoyed the hotel. The lobby is bright and we were greeted by friendly staff. The room was very comfortable and we really enjoy the fact that IHG has K-Cups for coffee in their rooms. Our kids enjoyed the pool, which is larger than most at newer properties. The biggest selling point is that kids eat fee (including dessert). We typically don't eat at hotel restaurants but after a long day in the car we gave it a shot. The food is much better than we expected and the service was great. Based on this stay its clear Holiday Inn has stepped up their game.
This Holiday Inn Express is conveniently located near I-20 along with many other hotels. It was nearly full on a Tuesday evening when we arrived. We had been upgraded to a suite as that was all they had left - no problem. When we entered the room, it had two queen beds and not the king they described at the desk. After about 10 minutes in the room, the door opened as another guest had been assigned the same room and had opened the door with his key. Good thing we were still dressed! This was straightened out quickly, with many apologies, at the front desk and we moved to the suite. The suite was spacious with a sofa and chairs in addition to the king, but had a funky smell like they had shampooed the carpet and had not left the air conditioning on to dry it completely. The room had many features, but there was only one plug for the refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. Thus the fridge was not usable. Breakfast the next morning was good and overall it was a good, if not unusual, stay.
