The hotel is always great. I have never had an issue. The staff is always great. The rooms are always clean. Everybody is always asking if you need something or do you need help. I really enjoy this place.
The ice storm of 2024 hit while I was here and the staff was on top of it. There was food. There was water. The rooms were still being cleaned if you wanted your room cleaned. The entire area around the casino and hotel was snowed in but, we really could not tell except for maybe a delay or two, which was honestly completely expected. I was very impressed with the way the Horseshoe put it together during this tough time.
Very outdated rooms. Need remodelin.
Room had comfortable beds after long drive which was nice. Concierge checked in via text and answered all questions promptly regarding food options. Casino had tight slot machines but all staff pleasant, overall good trip.

Resort? perhaps once upon a time, never seen such a dirty resort ... the corridor leading to the rooms was always very dirty, the lift also and not to mention the public restrooms which, besides being dirty, I found them completely without toilet paper. I chose this hotel for the swimming pool but unfortunately it was unusable because it was closed, the room has no coffee maker, the furniture doors fall off, we asked for clean towels from 11 am to 6 pm when finally someone came to bring them to us and half were so dirty that even the boy was shocked to see them. They even charged us the resort fee, I wanted to go and ask for a refund of a fee for something that isn't there but my husband was so angry that he didn't want to stay 5 more minutes.
This is as usual the best property in the area. The staff is always excellent. The rooms are always clean. The restaurants are great. This is just a really nice place to stay and enjoy yourself.
