My husband and I needed a quick out of town getaway for a our anniversary. The coast is about 3 hour drive for us, so we decided to check it out. This hotel is amazing. The staff and restaurants were all excellent. The bed was so comfy and the location can’t be beat. Close to Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Bay St. Louis, gambling, music, festivals.... you name it. In the summer, they have a water park and lazy river. There are plans to develop retail and an arcade. Check it out!
We stayed here for Cruisin so as you can image like every other hotel at this time is wasn’t cheap. We stayed in the Oasis Hotel. Our room was small but clean but unfinished. In the bathroom, there was Sheetrock mud that had not been cleaned up from construction and portions of the wall weren’t painted. The lamps next to the bed did not work. So lighting wasn’t great. Only one plug in next to the bed was accessible. I have a clap machine that I sleep with so I had to plug that in instead of charging my phone. The light switch for the bathroom was very weirdly placed on the back side wall behind the door. There was no closet. However, air worked wonderfully. It was very cold in our room. We are at the Oasis Grill a few times. Food was pretty good. Especially the pancakes and French toast. The only problem there is, there is a coffee shop but I am not sure anyone knows how to actually work it. I asked for a Frappuccino and they guy want sure what I was asking for. Maybe hire a real barista for the coffee shop. That could be the best place to hang out if someone knew coffee. We were told the beignets there were great. “ Best we would ever eat!!” Sorry guys we are from Louisiana and Cafe’ Du Monde is still the best!!! My husband did not like the hotel but I think I would go back with friends or family to enjoy the water park area and pool. We didn’t really have time for the pool this trip.
Beautiful, recently renovated area on the Mississippi Gulf Coast righr across from the beach. Gorgeous area a d grounds with two hotels and a few restaurants. Also has a lazy river and fountain. Nice visit with beautiful oak trees throughout.
So we are a local family and did a one-night staycation. We basically wanted the kids to be able to enjoy the water playground. I don't write many reviews but I felt compelled to since this property is part of our community and we really want it to succeed! Staff: This was a mixed bag. Overall, everyone was friendly. One big negative was that a lot of staff seemed to be under-trained. We had a check-in person tell us there was a small breakfast available in the lobby. We showed up with hungry, excited kids in the morning to find nothing. We asked the front desk about it and she looked at us like we were crazy. Only breakfast option is the Oasis Grill which is moderately priced but you should know to factor that in. I drove off property to get some local donuts and breakfast sandwiches instead. haha Pool staff was pretty good. Some of the lifeguards are a little overly strict. I witnessed several kids getting shouted at with the parents literally standing right there. Not super professional. At one point, my son scraped his foot on an area by the waterslides and got a huge chunk of paint off of the concrete jammed all the way up under his big toenail. Ouch! One staff helped me get tweezers and a band-aid and I eventually got it out. Had another staff member come up and just start asking me questions and filling out a report. He really didn't seem to know what he was doing and wasn't very professional. By the way, even though I wasn't mad about the incident, I'm surprised I've not heard anything from the management about the incident. Again, just a lack of professionalism and going the extra mile to take care of guests. Property: Beautiful. Classic. Still doing work in some areas. Can't wait until it's fully done. The fountain is a nice spot. The pool area was super fun. We all had a blast hanging out there! Really, the pool area stole the show. Also, it was neat to have designated Veteran Parking Spaces around the property. Nice touch. Room: Room was nice overall. Slept comfortably. However, a HUGE negative was the barn door for the bathroom. Nice idea and all but the hardware was subpar and it was hard to open from the inside. But the worst part was that it was probably about 6-8 inches to narrow so you could literally see right into the bathroom with the door closed! No privacy at all! Fine if it's just you and your wife but not fine with your older kids! Oasis Grill: Food was just OK. Very convenient to have it brought out poolside. Blue Marlin: Another mixed bag. Service was lacking in knowledge of the menu and drinks. Food was good but not great. It took waaaay too long for us to get drinks and complimentary bread. Decor was nice. Atmosphere could have used some music or something. Overall, I don't think I'd want to pay the money again to eat there. I really wanted to like it. Another note... the entrance in relation to the parking is very awkward. You naturally end up going in the back entrance which is right next to tables and across the room from the host stand. So you either make the long walk around the building (which isn't well marked if you haven't been there before) or you walk aimlessly through the back door and move through diners to the host station. We witnessed several awkward moments of folks entering though there. Overall, 3 stars...could be 5 with some tweaks. I hope this property succeeds!
My husband and I had a great time here. We stayed in the Grand Centennial Plaza, and I believe we were the first to stay in the room. It smelled brand new. The bed was comfortable, nice roomy shower, and the staff was so friendly. The pool was nice, and we had good food and drinks poolside. You can sit by the fountain and enjoy the dancing lights and music. The redfish at the Blue Marlin was delicious!
This hotel far exceeded my expectations‼️ We had an amazing experience. The service was extremely pleasant from the front desk, servers, bartenders, and everyone we encountered . The food was very tasty at the Oasis. The lazy river was great and the swim up bar was an added treat. I ordered a virgin Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri. They were totally refreshing as we relaxed by the pool. The water slides were a lot of fun for everyone... big and little kids‼️Oh‼️and the music was popping. I love love love the Grand Centennial Hotel‼️‼️‼️😘I can’t wait to go back‼️
The hotel is new and well appointed, staff are friendly and on top of their duties. Loved the water park with a swim up bar (drinks not included) included in our stay. Very boutique feel and friendly and welcoming. More than 1 restaurant to choose for dinner, grill or seafood fine dining....more phases to be added, no need to leave the property for anything, Will definitely be back!
We decided to stay at the property on their opening weekend and what a "wow" it is! The historic renovation is incredible - the Grand Centennial was gorgeous - beautifully spacious rooms and very comfortable. The staff was extremely accommodating and were so proud of the property! A walk around the gorgeous oaks will make you never want to go home. There was a wedding taking place that evening and it was such a perfect venue even as an outsider looking in! We've traveled a great deal to Alabama to enjoy a weekend getaway but we've found paradise at Centennial Plaza. We look forward to returning in October and seeing all the new additions still yet to come. A MUST on your travel list!
This property marries the new and old (historical) buildings into a new resort with restaurants, swim up bars in the pool area, lazy rivers and a child splash pad. Gives you the atmosphere of classic early 1900s constructed buildings with modern amenities. The grounds and dancing fountain are a site to see on their own.
Gorgeous landscaped grounds with oak trees shading the place. Nice lazy river and water play area for kids, though we stayed away from that in the Grand Centennial Hotel which had an excellent bar area with upscale feel. The on site restaurant, the Blue Marlin, was fabulous and I want to go back!
